I agree to used bitcoin as a donation for some reasons.

1. People who give great help to the church are becoming increasingly anonymous.

2. It is easier to monitor the entire proceeds and avoid suspicion of having a claim.

3. The transaction is faster and less expensive

This is just my opinion.

Why not right? I think this would make the image of bitcoin much more positive and besides, without thinking of any other reason of helping is really great. Go bitcoin!

I don't think the church will implement this kind of technology for receiving donations. Although it is a good way to do so, it is better for the donator to be the one who gives the donation personally in the church so that the priest could thank him/her and bless him in God's name. Also, you will have a much better feeling going to the church than sending it through the blockchain.

I agree with you ideas, I think is great ideas. But donation better to all people needed. Donation used bitcoin is something new in a few country. If they received bitcoin, they can try and learn to do investment in bitcoin also. It will increase demand and supply side. Also they can do transactions for payment using bitcoin.

I see no harm to using bitcoins for donations to churches however, I feel like it must undergo transparency especially to the public or to the congregation as this would promote fair use and monitoring of finances collected for the church to be used for charity works.  The challenge here too is that as the value of bitcoin is very volatile, the church may find it too difficult to monitor how much they already have and may complicate in the way they allot budgets for certain projects at church.  This for me works from a donor's perspective as it is truly anonymous and very convenient to donate whenever, wherever.  You don't have to go through the feeling of people looking at how much you're giving especially when those money baskets ate being passed around.

I think this is great when we use bitcoin as a church donation. All we know that church and government are always in a reverse side and belief so honestly speaking the church only get small amount of help coming from government,so when we donate bitcoin and when church will hold the bitcoin in some years they will get as much as we donate. So they can use the big amount of money for our church maintainance. And some old people said that if we donate the 20% of our income to church we can receive more than that. So when we donate bitcoin and church will hold it. It is more than 20% because it may become bigger value.

Hi,

Indeed, bitcoin can be used to make donations... But I have a few questions in mind...

1- Why giving to church? Why do you chose this, instead of any other charity? Helping the poor, feeding homeless, saving nature? These are just a few example, there are lots of charities, I just wonder why you chose one that is already quite powerful..

2- Why do you want to be anonymous? I understand when you use bitcoin (thus are anonymous) when dealing with businesses and more or less legal transactions, but for a donation?

This is a great first of all is the convenience for the church ad their followers. Also, bitcoin has an unstable value, but has a high conversion price so having bitcoin at its peak price, they could use it to provide the needs in the church.

This is an interesting idea and a very acceptable one. I know some people who donate handsomely to their church and they opt to be discrete regarding this matter. They don't want to be exposed to the community even though they are doing some noble things. And with the use of BTC or any other cryptocurrency, they can do this easily anytime anywhere. Blockchain technology will provide us different solutions to the different problems plaguing our community. We just have to be very observant regarding those problems and apply the blockchain technology to solve it.

It's a good idea to give bitcoin as donations to church, actually this has been practiced in Switzerland. ICF Zurich is one of the largest churches in Switzerland. It tends to promotes new technologies since most of the members are young and tech savvy. It's accepting bitcoin as offering despite of the fears of being a bubble coin.

This is a good idea in my own opinion. As we all know all of the establishments nowadays used computer and internet so churches only need to open a btc wallet for donation purposes but it should be legit and must be accounted with the churches monthly receivables. Transparency must be practice in this case.

But the poundage is very expensive, and I don't think it's suitable.
It is still not very good to see bitcoin as a physical payment, and I hope the lightning network will solve the problem of congestion in the bitcoin block, so all of this is possible.

What a great idea, but also the church should have use BTC or should have known BTC atleast. But here in my country churches are afraid to step up into the modernization period because they preserve the history of the church.

But we need Churches that accept donations in BTC for that. Aso, I think many people donate to local churches and thus all will have to implement for this to be successful.

Let me know where your data is for the first claim here. Cause I doubt people that are donating to the church actually care about if anyone knows.

I do think the 2nd one is cool in the fact that it could bring more transparency to the church, so people knew where all of the money they were donating would be ending up. For #3 that's just not true, Bitcoin is without a doubt going to be more expensive then simply donating money to the church in cash.

So you're just wrong.

I think we can donate in any form, if it is comfortable to someone to donate with crypto, so why not. But I am not sure how comfortable it is for church to take donations in this way?

So I think when it comes to donation, any form of donation is acceptable.
