well, it IS growing.

just a mini pump, it's now stuck there again, i'm expeccting another dead cat bounce as usual

and i'm not that sure about more earing among general people, because those will at 99% dump their coins, creating more pressure on the market

we need more way to help people buying bitcoin not earning directly

I disagree... The people funding the income these people make, has to buy it to enable them to pay these people... and when these people get a taste of it, they will also buy

some. We just need to introduce people to it, and then support them when they ask questions. You are less likely to succeed in getting people to adopt a new currency, if they do

not see the advantages of using it. The only way for them to see this, is to give them opportunities to earn it. It's a give and take relationship.  Roll Eyes

Yes, they will dump it because they have no faith in it. If they knew their earnings would double if they just hold on a couple of months they wouldn't dump their coins immediately.

Most people think Bitcoin will grow, if they create services and sell products where people can spend their money. I think it is the other way around.

Most people using other payment methods, will not be motivated to rather use Bitcoin if they are not pushed and motivated to do that. Yes, we need these services and merchants

for people to spend there Bitcoin once they converted or received it, but they first need to acquire it somehow.

The best motivator for people to change their minds or to accept a new technology will be to monetize it. Once these people start accepting Bitcoin as a payment for some

service rendered, they will start to use these services and merchants who accepts Bitcoin.

It's not always about what we can take from the technology, but what we can contribute to make it grow. I got my highest adoption rate, when I gave BTC to people, to play

with, when they knew nothing about it.

Let's find ways for people to earn BTC and they will adopt it quicker and also spend it at the merchants that accepted Bitcoin as a payment method.

Any suggestions?

Good thoughts, you right, just how to let earn people some btc without investing, there are some guids for newbies on btctalk

You could get a group of bitcoin enthusiasts to speak with local businesses in an attempt to gain acceptance locally.
If we could get local businesses/managers to adopt bitcoin we would get an explosion very quickly.

thats exactly what i am telling peoples these days people needs oppertunitys to earn bitcoin and also need something where they can spend the bitcoins happyly .so we have to teach them how to reach or access the markets and how to spent or find the coins on their needful goods

I think if the famous market places like amazon, ebay ..support Bitcoin as payment processor and use it , this will encourage many people to get Bitcoin to sell and buy their goods and services, it's a way to advertise and support Bitcoin

You are missing the whole point of this thread... We are not looking for more ways to spend Bitcoin.. We are looking for more online websites where payment is given in BTC for micro

tasks being done. A prime example will be sites like https://www.fiverr.com where people are paid for small tasks, like Banner designs and website designs... etc. The best sites with

the most potential are social media... Any online chat sites or sites like Reddit where people can do micro tasks for BTC. Can you think of any other sites where micro payments

could be ideal?

I stand with Ukraine.
A prime example is this - http://uk.webuy.com/

This is a national chain with over 200 stores that deals in second hand games, phones, etc. You can use Bitcoin online and in store. Nothing easier than gathering up some unwanted old stuff and handing it over for BTC.

I've no idea how much uptake it's had but that's exactly the type of thing that removes most of the conventional barriers to getting coins.

That's a nice shop! Thanks for the link! Spent some time there just viewing things.

I'm wondering why if they are accepting Bitcoins they nowhere on the site tell about it? I went to "About us" section and found only this:

Quote
CeX was founded in London in 1992. We have stores in the UK, Spain, USA, Ireland, India, Australia, Portugal, Netherlands, Mexico and Poland.
We buy, sell and exchange a range of technology and entertainment products including mobile phones, video games, DVDs and Blu-ray movies, computers, digital electronics, TVs and monitors, and music CDs.

i agree that it would be more effective if we create ways for people to earn bitcoin as they earn fiat but i don't think it still can be that much effective. because there still would be many problems with bitcoin which needs fixing first. like these attacks on network which is delaying all of our transactions every now and then. or the price which is not stable.
on top of that where are they going to spend their bitcoins that they have worked for to earn? they would have to change it back to fiat and then spend or use a third party and pay extra fees to use their bitcoin.
With everything, there is always a period where things are not ironed out and it's use is hard to work with.
It will just take more time for these problems that bitcoin faces to be amended then it's use will be more widely used accepted.

It is like all other businesses.
If you give people enough reason to use bitcoin as wages or payments in return, they will eventually use it.

Agreed. People tend to use things that would actually benefit them in the long run. Say if we have provide some good reasons for them to use bitcoins (like jobs, shops and places to spend on etc.), then we might be seeing a boom in the usage of bitcoins too. The thing is, we're lacking places in which bitcoin will actually be beneficial to many; we only see it today as an investment.

Bitcoin should really find a niche and become the best way to send money online for that particular sector. Perhaps it would be large amounts of money without high fees or maybe the absolute currency for online betting. The problem is that as it is not regulated it's hard for big companies to adopt it, that's all there is to it.

What is the difference between "earning bitcoins" and earning dollars and buying bitcoins? I don't see a difference so I don't understand why it is important to "earn bitcoins".

If you can buy btc 1:1, yes, it is the same. But in most places you will have to buy that btc from "resellers" (localbitcoin, etc.), why would you exchange, say, 1000 USD for 950 USD worth in bitcoin (just an example, comission may be lower or higher, but definitively not low) if you are to spend them?

So, the benefit of earning bitcoins directly is that the cost and burden of obtaining the bitcoins is placed on the employer.

Yes....plus it sets up a network of bitcoin users.  If one is paid in bitcoin, one also has to use or convert bitcoin to purchase necessities....which, in turn sets up another account on the blockchain, thereby, creating a network of users, which is the whole concept behind the theory of the blockchain technology.

I had to agree with this. Earning $ and BTC is the same. You use fiat to buy BTC . Isn't there already a way to monetize BTC?

The problem why people wont still use BTC is because they are not fully aware. Yes if we give them the coins and teach them where to use it, they will use it some time but what about the votality? If they don't fully understand how the bitcoin thing works then they will not replace fiat with it. We need to educate them as the same time. Not just give them way to earn BTC.

If you earn dollars and buy BTC you are accumulating BTC as an investment. Nobody is going to spend their investment because they think it will appreciate in value overtime. If you are looking to do some consumer spending, there is no incentive to first turn your dollars into Bitcoin. If you earn BTC first, however, you are simply earning a salary which makes spending a lot more appropriate.

that is why if he earns in bitcoins, then their is no problem in spending, because dollar is also fluctuating daily so if they earn then they can purchase, like what you said investment nobody will spend that is correct.

I think the difference between "earning" and "buying" is the fact that it creates an incentive for people to start using bitcoins and have the potential to increase purchasing power for themselves.

So let look at signature campaigns for an example.  My signature campaign pays me .12 btc per week if I reach my limit, and not X amount of $ in bitcoin.  So compared to when bitcoins where going for ~$200 when I started it only got me around $22, but now since the price has risen it gets me about $28-$30 of bitcoins... so instead of being payed in money at a base salary compared to a base salary in bitcoins, there's a huge difference...

The same can be said in the other way, if bitcoins go down in price, you get less "purchasing power" in the currency you chose to be paid in.

100% agree. Merchant adoption is nice but really only appeals to those who already have some coin to spend. No one is going to jump through hoops for the honour of spending it.

Doesn't have to be wages. There are plenty of other options. One interesting one is to offer it in change. It could offered as an option in gift cards, referrals, adsense income. The more effortlessly it arrives in the hands of potential users the better. That'll inspire them to look a little deeper.

The sig campaigns here are definitely a prime demonstration. I'm sure a lot of economic activity on here stems from the money people earn that way. If that can be applied to wider world it would be a huge boon.
