There are many other things that makes bitcoin so good, anonymity is just an option. If you share you wallet with all informations about yourself you will not be anonymous, but if you wish to be you can do it, you can even use bitcoin mixers to hide tracks to your wallet. Now we are at your second sentence, what we really need is independence but from fiat currencies, because owners of fiat are banks and governments, and crypto can give us that independence, if we know how to use it. Your right dude! The main reason why bitcoin is not accepted in other country because of its high chance of possibility to be use in illegal purposes. But country with very tight security can maybe handle bitcoin so that it will not be use in illegal activities or the country has very low crime rate for sure they are ok to usr bitcoin.

Believe with the dollar a lot more illegal activities occur than with Bitcoin and Crypto. all this is as if bitcoin is not taken because of his anonymity - complete nonsense. this is the usual manipulation and nothing more. media tells about this feature of bitcoin from different sides and then when there is a wave of growth and it must be said that anonymity is cool, they say it, when on the contrary they say that anonymity is bad. by the end, all the same, everyone will say that bitcoin is a revolutionary technology and behind it the future 
In as much as i admit that what has happened is not good, I still do not think we can put the blame on the use of bitcoin. This is because without bitcoin these things will continue to happen.
