$10,000 or $100,000? I am asking you because you have used the word "again". I guess you are talking about $10,000 per coin, as the historical peak price is $20,000 per coin. We may breach the 10K level this year itself, but it may be difficult for BTC to maintain those prices. The stabilization is going to occur at lower prices, like 7K or 8K.

I cant laugh without a ride.. Posting my comment and be edited soon as we do reach above 100000$ and again.. Other than reminiscing the bull run before,, sooner it will explode the price in perfect time.. Those who won’t believe,, won’t profit as simple as that.. OP is not exaggerating,, he is trusting bitcoin..

Tired of repeated thread of “will never reach 20000$ again”,, make it a 100000$ is worth my time..

I richardsNY hereby state and promise to myself that I won't be one of those suckers selling my coins at current levels to regret it later on. By that time we might not even need to convert our coins to fiat anymore in order to spend our profits in grocery stores, gas stations, etc.
i second emotion on this one..will never sell my bitcoin until reached atleast half of what OPs expectations..rather withdraw my banking deposits incase i badly needed a cash than converting my bitcoin intk fiats..hopefully the future helps us out in this kind of dip situation

This time last year many people make this same comments and the said "bitcoin will never get to $10,000" but we can see were it is today and in the same year bitcoin grow to $20,000. $100,000 is highly achievable and this growth maybe achieve before 2020. I cannot undermine the potential on how bitcoin will grow because what happened in the past is an eye opener.

But Bitcoin did not reach even $20,000 then how much more $100,000 that he said the word again? But still i don't believe it will going to reach this value because for me the more Bitcoin will become expensive to purchase the more small time investors will shift to Altcoins which are cheaper to purchase. In addition, there are lot of development now that may affect the Bitcoin price performance like  FB, Google and Twitter are going to ban Crypto currencies advertisements soon.

Hey, I'm glad this post generated discussion and I'm happy to see that most of you got the joke and enjoyed it. Bitcointalk forum people are smarter than the average bunch. Not all, but most. Sorry for the delay in responding but I thought what I posted was enough to explain how I felt. Yes, I am making fun of all of the people who always say bitcoin will never get back to $x again. Now the belief is that it will not get back to $20k. I think we might get to $100k one day -- especially with the halvings which people always seem to forget about. The idea of reward drop is still not in the mainstream despite all the fervor over "cryptos" as of late. It is unbelievable what has happened in the last 9 years but bitcoin is not done yet.

What "next-gen" altcoin, do you believe, will take its place?

I really don't know. I wish I did.

That's because, today, there's none. All the greatest minds are working on Bitcoin's code and on solutions like the Lightning Network, Mimble Wimble, etc.

Quote
I think Cardano (ADA) is really smart, same thing with HCash (HSR), but the problem is, these coins (like most others) are driven by pure speculation and have zero real-world implementation.

But they are ICOs. Those projects are already "compromised" from the start.

Quote
The problem with cryptocurrency is, now that merchants finally became aware of bitcoin, you have all these "better" competitors rushing the market.

But does the market really believe they are "better". Maybe better in paper, but none has beaten Bitcoin in all aspects in practice.

Quote
You can't expect online vendors or most people to spend more than an additional 30 seconds dealing with the hassle of accepting cryptocurrency. If they do, its an obsolete, non-competitive form of currency.

Likely a dozen or so coins will find mass adoption in the next couple years, which is an improvement on only BTC.

But again, what coins?

Quote
Bitcoin is obviously very cool. However, it was the first of its kind, like the original Nintendo Entertainment System. At first they were ubiquitous and the gold standard in technology, but as the years went on, the underlying technology became outdated, and eventually other competitors based on their idea took over.

(Yeah I know there was Atari and Pong before that but just go with me on this one.)

You have been in Bitcoin land longer than most, by now you should have found out that rhetoric is weak.

RESERVED

I see what you did, too, but I would like quick reminder when Bitcoin
price was there for the first time?
I belong to a "Bitcoin will reach $100k" group of people, the biggest
disagreement in the group is about when will it happen. Since you reserved
such thread I would like to hear your expectations.
I believe in maximum 3 years. Am I too optimistic?

Bitcoin will exceed the $100,000k, but it is a matter of how long will it take for this to happen. The price of bitcoin got to new hights at the few weeks to the end of last year. The year 2018 is still good for some positive focast, cause bitcoin will be coming out with something shocking again. Despite the deep in its price,  there are still a lot of people investing, while those scared are watching it closely.
So, the expectation of bitcoin to get this far is just by the corner
This thread will be here to RESERVE another position for a $1,000,000 trend.

An interesting topic turned out. Op don't even have time to make his post but received a merit 2 and a large number of responses. It seems to me that this is another confirmation of the fact that the merit system does not work on the forum. All achieving merit grades is freezing accounts. Spam has not diminished.

it seems you are a bit of a sentiment with bitcoin price issues, where there will be a very sharp increase in the future especially for bitcoin after obtaining clear legality, if there is a very high increase beyond what you are talking about, I will laugh at the front. Beat around the bush.

btc did not reach 100 k  before ... The largest value reached its 19,900 usd Almost per 1 btc In mid-December 2017

i think you want say if  bitcoin can reach 100 k ( or 10,000 * 10) Someday ?

it is very difficult at the moment ... maybe after 5 years as a minimum. Because there are several challenges and obstacles that must be passed to reach those high prices

Such as governments' accepting bitcoins

Bitcoin and cryptos uptake and use by the adult world population is estimated at ~ 1%, with surveys on Statista showing up to 70% of people plan to use or invest in bitcoin (which is Crypto to the general population) in the next few years - and about 50% of merchants saying they plan to accept bitcoin/Crypto in the next 3 years.

I'm highly skeptical of all of this. People only use something if it makes sense to use it. If the average transaction fee is $10 or higher, BTC's competitiveness as a currency is highly diminished. Given what we saw late last year, when ave tx fees briefly exceeded $100 as BTC approached $20k, its obvious that price and popularity are correlated with the transaction fee.

Even though SegWit and Lightning Network might do something to mitigate this, the correlation remains.

Thus, when bitcoin is worth more than say, $30,000 (whatever it takes for the tx fee to be big enough to render BTC uncompetitive), its actually taxing its fundamental, intrinsic value as a currency.

This is why the days of stratospheric price rises are probably over for BTC.

If you missed out, don't worry, the next big thing is currently underway.

Ride those for a billion percent gain instead of trying to milk the ageing BTC cow.

Uptake of bitcoin and crypto will start to accelerate when it becomes user-friendly and easy to use - with push-button apps and smart cards and things like fiat now, and not the complicated wallets and private keys and buying and selling that we early adopters have had to understand and master.

Bitcoin and crypto are here to stay and revolutionise the world imo, and with bitcoin all the other projects developing blockchain infrastructure and making owning and use of bitcoin and crypto easy and secure and private I can see owning and use of crypto rising ten-fold to 10% of the general population in 5 years time - and it will be an accepted investment class looking for long term-returns by individuals and institutional money. And with all that extra money wanting to hold bitcoin the key to large price gains is the limited fixed supply with 17 mil mined now and a cap of 21 mil and about 5 mil thought lost forever. Even if that ten-fold increase in penetration of bitcoin and crypto use into the general population to 10% raised the current price ten fold we would be very close to 100K.

So I’m sure the bitcoin price will reach 100K with time, and the OP will be right that they’ll still be crashes in price bank under 100K and posts like their one!

When you say bitcoin will never reach $100,000 again it then mean that bitcoin has reach the said amount

When you say bitcoin will never reach $100,000 again it then mean that bitcoin has reach the said amount before now which has never happen in the history of bitcoin and crypto currency in general. But contrary to your opinion, I strongly believe that one day will come when bitcoin will hit $100,000 and you will then be amazed.

hmm why are you talking like that? BTW is there a good reason for the thread you created this? crypto experts have said, that in this year or years to come bitcoin will reach the price of the climactic numbers. I think bitcoin will be As Soon As Possible to achieve the best number.

Use your brain my dude. OP is just reserving this thread title for when we get past $100,000, reach $400,000 and then crash to $90,000, then people will say we will never reach $100,000 again.

We will eventually need a "we will never reach $1,000,000 again" once we get past the $1million mark, and so on.

I can't wait to see this thread when it happens, which I predict will happen within a 5 year period.
I wonder if it will gonna hit to that extent of price but i believe it will gonna take more years before it happen. The last time i look at the price of Bitcoin was $300 but now, look at this. I wonder where will Bitcoin gonna take us? Does Bitcoin will be still alive when it hits $100,000? The more we support Bitcoin the more it will gonna bloom like a flower. We and the market are just like the water and soil to Bitcoin.

Of course, when people start to use it as a 'system',we will understand the real price of it and I hope it will happen in the near future...Today,People exaggerate the present and the future value of the crypto market and thats why there are a lot pessimists.Anyway it depends on how we value it today and how we will, because as of today there are people who possess only pieces of the overall picture and thats why today's price is so 'low',if we can call it low for me its not true...
