No, actually. Bitcoins are doing quite good in the market right now. They are having an upward shift in the price, and it is still rising. And about the prevailing of other coins, that can be said in ironclad either. As the market is still very unstable.

Why are you talking with those coins from the beginning? Ripple and Tron? that's nuts.
"One of the top 10 will collapse."
Why he's only pointing out to the top 10 coins? the crypto market is vast and there are other altcoins that are also losing the spotlight when bitcoin starts to take the spot again.
Stagnant as he says? we've broke $7,600 and $7,700 just for today.

My guy are you really sure, becuase bitcoin has prevailed long time ago. Prices are never stagnant. You see, as a mother of all coin, it is having some degree of direct or indirect effect on evry altcoin. Most other coins will grow so far as bitcoin grows.

only a handful of other Altcoins will survive as ETH etc. - but Bitcoin will remain the leader, no doubt.

While bitcoin's price has stagnated in the last two weeks, smaller digital currencies such as ripple, stellar and Tron have surged into the ranks of the largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.
Although I do not agree with you it does not matter what happened in the past, let the market speak now.
[Bitcoin 3.56%  ripple 1.85% stellar 0.60%  Tron 0.46%]

Erik Voorhees, CEO of digital asset exchange ShapeShift, said that in contrast to bitcoin's dominance on the platform a year ago, about half of transactions on the platform now don't involve the popular digital currency at all.
When I use ShapeShift, it means that I have some bitcoin and I want to exchange it into altcoins to achieve some gains.
Therefore, the conversion times are often from the Bitcoin to Xcoin "because of the ease of getting bitcoin" and then from Xcoin to Ycoin to Zcoin" because small fees compare to bitcoin."

stagnant? do you not see bitcoin prices now? the price continues to grow and continue to increase. it becomes one proof that bitcoin prices are not stagnant. the price keeps recovering.

However, bitcoin should still benefit from the increased interest in the "alt-coins." Analysts also point out that since bitcoin is the most established digital currency, it is often the way new investors access the cryptocurrency space.
in the past one year why bitcoin prices are so dominant because not many altcoins are favorites. while at this time very much altcoin is a favorite of the holders. therefore bitcoin is no longer the most popular coin among holders.

"Bitcoin has such magnificent network effects that I don't see another alt-coin that's a little better at payments" or some other function right now, Autonomous' Sokolin said. "One of the top 10 will collapse."
it may happen that the top 10 coins will collapse, but it does not rule out that what will collapse is bitcoin if other atcoin can develop with the beat beat bitcoin price

wrong and wrong.
bitcoin price has not "stagnated", it was actually rising with a solid slow pace for the pat two weeks with one bigger faster jump when it reached the resistance.
as for XRP it has always had a huge market cap because it has billions of coins as its supply!
and Stellar got pumped hard because Coinbase said they will list it on their platform that is all!

ShapeShift is  a special form of exchange people use it to trade altcoins with each other. for example you dump ETH to buy LTC, you dump LTC to buy something else and so on! the volume of different coins change based on which one of them is being pumped at that point. just like any other exchange out there.

i disagree, the damage is more than any benefit that you are thinking of. the damage is two things:
1. damaging the image of bitcoin as altcoins are useless, buggy, scam, pump and dump and ...
2. damaging the price as when the big dumps come money usually exits through bitcoin and can crash bitcoin price too.
