in my opinion, I was between the two crypto coins. I still prefer bitcoin because I already believe in bitcoin and also I've joined in exchanging other types of coins. for the altcoin it is still fairly new and the price also still has many considerations so I have to wait for news if the altcoin is agreed upon at a price.

Exactly.We should always look the bright side of crypto and that its price will surely recover this 2019.We may not predict it correctly but chances are very big.This year we have faced tough times with crypto but i know we will still make good profits in the following year.As long as we keep our faith in crypto,then it will continue to dominate.

I think that to predict the future can only wizards but if you think logically and look at the market behaves over 10 years, we can say that in 2019 the growth will be, maybe not as agressive in 2017, but the positive news is enough for growth.

I see Bitcoin as a store of wealth, so I acquire for the long term ( 5 years or so ).

The daily use coins are more interesting, and I'm looking at BAT ( Basic Attention Tokens ) as a content producer.
I'm also looking at Dash for international payments, and I think its adoption in Venezuela is a good indication of future potential for the coin.

Price predictions are difficult, and the imminent crash in fiat currencies makes it even harder.

I am no expert but I have been listening to a lot of analyst and the same thing is being said.

Might as well look at the market of stocks, equities, bonds and commodities.
Now think about it if they are also downtrend.
Their old investors will find a way to create room for profit so they will look for a cheaper commodity.
If none then it will be bitcoin as the apple of the eye.
Why?
Simple. Bitcoin is down for a large percentage and the only trend it will go is up. There is no sideways here.

Im just hope this bad 2018 time for cryptocurrency will be passed away. Hope a new year will be a new miles stone in my life as i hope to gain financial freedom in 2020. 2019 will be a good time for buying instead still in bloodbath for crypto. That will be my prediction for the new year.
