How many forums do we have that discuss related issues concerning crypto generally? This should be my first time of hearing a forum that bears bitcoin.com other than bitcointalk.org
The post title got me confused, I thought it was this our very own forum, which is highly not.
He has his intention towards the forum closure, he should do what he souls wishes. Wishing him well for his other unknown plan's

This is an entirely different forum. This forum is owned and ran by Roger Ver of bitcoin cash.  The way the forum works is very different and even though it says bitcoin in the website title, it's geared toward bitcoin cash's crytpocurrency.  He's also not shutting the entire site down.

That forum was never a popular, just to fix that, Roger was trying to do everything, he was even thinking about adding signature campaigns but didn't do. He was promoting his Bitcoin Casino on bitcointalk. Even when you type something related to bitcoin in search engines, bitcointalk is the number one website that you'll see in a results.
This man decided to support Bitcoin Cash instead of BCH but the problem is his domain/website. In overall this person tries to make google appear yahoo but still use the name google and call it real yahoo.

It's ok that his forum closes, why to worry about that? And is there anything sensational about that? His forum was inactive and not as essential as bitcointalk. Same applies to cryptotalk and similar forums to my mind.

Given my experience there, I think Roger is probably wise to quit throwing his money away on whatever team was running it.

So after all it's all about the mismanagement of the administration of the forum? If I understood it correctly, Roger is incentivising the administrators in exchange for maintaining the forum, but why is it that he has no control over them albeit he is one of core member of the said forum?

My understanding is that Roger is busy traveling and building real world business relationships while the day to day oversight of things like the forum are handled by a revolving door of associates who may not share Roger’s motivation for working with the crypto community.

Maybe he isnt aware that the forum he do made did really give out some negative reflection towards him  because of the people who do handle out  into that forum. It would be a great step if he would just simply close it down.

When I was working for Bitcoin.com’s forum, I found that the left hand usually hand no idea what the right hand was doing. People made agreements and others in management would try to break them, turnover was high in the administration behind the scenes, and I would be given conflicting instructions regularly. Everyone seemed most concerned with how to get their hands on as much of Roger’s money as possible and who to blame when their actions didn’t get results. Given my experience there, I think Roger is probably wise to quit throwing his money away on whatever team was running it.
Make sense for shutting it down, when the leeches start draining then it is better to shut down the shit show rather than entertaining them.

Just visited the site a few times and i felt like a shit show like the rest of the similar crypto based forums and if Roger wants to end that more power to him rather than feeding the trolls.

Just had a look at it for the first time in a long time.

If I were Roger I would close it. It's an embarrassing ghost town and while the posts haven't degenerated into Viagra ads it's only a matter of time. He either needs to import the cryototalk zombies to pad it out or put it out of its misery. But he won't.

I feel sorry for hearing such news. It is sad, but we are too big for a single website or forum to affect us.
The forum provides information for free and helps those who want to learn or develop their skills.
opportunity for everyone to obtain the correct information without disturbing them as roger does.
bitcoin.com used to sell many BCH and people think they need to pay bitcoin with that money

To be honest, I was quite surprised by the news of the closing of the Bitcoin.com forum, because besides the forum it was old.
Domain owned also better than bitcointalk. Only Roger Ver knows the real reason for closing the forum, if in my opinion it is
lacking member activities there. It should duplicate the success of the bitcointalk forum, so it doesn't close. The best way for
forums to survive, by increasing crypto projects. So like the bitcointalk member activity, forum becomes crowded.

As far as I know, all the forum members there already have forum accounts here. So nah, I don't think we can expect new members here, I can't imagine anyone would have an account there and not here. Could be wrong, but from the few times I visited their forums, it looked like a copy of the forum here.

Considering how popular the forum is plus it was actually started by an early adopter of Bitcoins I do think this is not a beneficial step for the community.

I never went to other forums besides bitcointalk.org (best career here)  so I am not much obliged with what is happening there. Moreover I always think that this is the original committee of bitcoin and no other forum out there can be so lucrative before hand.

Roger Ver, did do a great job in the starting, promoting Bitcoins but with time he used all his time on BCH, that's his choice no offence , but he did do a lot of unreasonable things in the way of promoting the BCH . He is thought to be a part of scams and attacks that tried to make the price low to scare away the investors.

That is the difference between them and us! We always focus on the bitcoin and altcoins separately. Everything here is properly segregated thus making it more or less focused on the subject stuff. It is also observed that bitcoin supporter all the old players here so they will never make others confused.

I do think now doing this he is actually trying to dump Bitcoins entirely , even though his forum provided BTC and  BCH , it still was named Bitcoin.com ! That is why people used it.. I do think he is causing more trouble for himself through this .

So isn't that is more or less falsification of the community.  Tongue

Then again am more than happy to see our forum being handled very well .

To be honest, I have never heard of that forum before even if it's Bitcoin.com. I doubt that there's a lot of Bitcoin users there aside from BCH users. He will mostly sell this domain to the others if this close fully. But we can't be sure yet as this news came (https://cointelegraph.com/news/oops-roger-ver-says-bitcoincoms-forum-closure-post-was-prematureout) so we might expect a reversal.

I don't get this. Bitcoin.com would be shut down? In what manner?

In a manner that is not too painful. It is simply like willingly removing the life-supporting tubes attached to a person who is on a permanent comatose and is brain-dead.

If this is what I think it is then it's a huge problem and doesn't speak well of bitcoin as a currency. People who don't believe in bitcoin would just add it to their jotter so they can always use it against bitcoiners (especially newbies)

Definitely not a huge problem, not even a problem at all. The contrary would be more problematic; having the site continue to operate while spreading lies. That is going to be more damaging to bitcoiners. That is going to be more dangerous to newbies.

It's like: "I am down, might as well drag everything down!"
You will see how selfish the guy is.

Well, we might be seeing more members here in time.
Good chance for us to enlighten them on what the truth is, using this forum.
Instead of still believing the lies that had been input in their heads.  Grin

He'll try to auction the domain in no time that's what the premonition of my crystal ball. Though he has the domain that can be easily consider the real thing that doesn't mean he has the advantage people already know that the real bitcoiners isn't on that forum, it is here.

LOL, good thing my early year I haven't been in that forum and what has been suggested in me is this forum instead. If it would affect the price that will not be on the disadvantage on the long term imo or it will never did.

Ever since I first got involved in crypto, the place I heard of the most was always bitcointalk. I used to come here for knowledge in the crypto space way before creating an account and eventually participating and I'm sure many others did. Like other commentors, hadn't visited that forum you describe, was it any good compared to bitcointalk?

Before I went here on our forum most of the time I make research is always the bitcoin.com is the highly recommended with the Google it is active on that day but nowhere is the new is already close I think they are not to hold their platform and also the domain they have which is the bitcoin.com

In fact, news of closing the forum cannot affect the use of crypto, as many users do not like to join the bch forum, But many users prefer our great forum bitcointalk because it has the best reliable users around the world. It can also be said that Roger no longer has an effect on the digital currency as before, I think he bears a red mark on his forehead! Grin Cheesy

Bitcoin talk is one of the longest-running platforms which is still there are a lot of active users to maintain this forum and also even the moderators and admin so there is no reason if it is going like bitcoin.com lol.

I'd never visited that site, to be honest. And it never bothered me for their closure as it never gives help to the crypto community, instead, it poisoned the mind of readers. There is no sense to continue that site and have it alive for they can't also attract the interest of the community.

No other than great over the forum we have and this is a learning tool for the crypto enthusiast to continue their journey. If those readers and followers with that site Bitcoin.com will find https://bitcointalk.org/ site, they will surely find a way to transfer without any hesitation.

Expect for new members? Not really sure of that unless they find comfortable doing this unlike they do in the other site.

If they notice that there is a forum like this, our forum is very open to the people who want to learn and also who want to contribute to our forum too which is good but still they cannot escape the world of the merit system to make a rank up.
