I have a feeling that very soon forks won’t hold any more weight than a simple altcoin release. And forks like “Bitcoin Silver” will probably speed up that process by a lot.

Bitcoin splits again, creating a new cryptocurrency called bitcoin gold, question that have any future?
There is many people will interested with this coin especially for miners. This coin will available for mining also i think Ethereum miners will move mining BitcoinGold. As we know Ehtereum will change to POW to POS. 
Look at the history chart, I don't think there will be a good future for BitcoinGold. People really don't like it.
If they do all they promises there will be some future to this coin. Somebody want to mine, if not it will be next shitcoin. There are a lot of new Bitcoin..., people want some more only for get them for free and dump it.

It is an effective two-way replay protection mechanism that enforces a new algorithm to calculate the hash of a transaction so that all new Bitcoin transactions will be invalid on the Bitcoin Gold blockchain and vice versa. I am doubt about the future of bitcoin gold BTG due to there are some question must be answered 1. We don’t know who the developers are
2. We don’t know what the code looks like
3. We don’t know if replay protection has been implemented
So What Should we Do?
Sit and wait. It’s important to realize that the fork hasn’t actually happened yet. All we have had so far is the snapshot of the blockchain which the fork will start from. Added to this will be a private pre-mine of 100,000 BTG (8,000 blocks) for the developers before anyone else actually gets to start playing.
It remains to be seen how the mining situation for the BitcoinGold will evolve. There are no guarantees in the world of cryptocurrency as things always change. There are always people who like to speculate on the future price of existing and new cryptocurrencies, BitcoinGold is no exception. There are still support for BitcoinGold now though it will be lesser of all bitcoin fork in the future.
BTG has no future out there. It just a another garbage coin in cryto world.

I personally think it has no future, every for of bitcoin is trying to ride off the success of bitcoin and the more forks the more the name gets dragged through the mud
Bitcoin Gold has even more less legitimate reason when compared to Bitcoin Cash. At least Bitcoin Cash can claim that they are a version that's closer to the vision of Satoshi but Bitcoin Gold is same as Bitcoin Dark, Fast, Red, Plus and whatever name is added behind.
This is a good point, and I see it the same way. However, the different between all the coins listed above is that their not directly a fork of bitcoin using its blockchain, which gives bitcoin gold a huge advantage over all those other alt coins.
It is still too early to talk about whether the newly created coin bitcoin has gold or not. The team of the creators of this coin is only going to disclose its capabilities and by November 1 to eliminate some of its shortcomings. This coin has some improvements and opportunities for mining and has the right to exist. As she will show herself in the near future, her community support will depend on it.
Just as BCH tried to beat Bitcoin, and what happened? Bitcoin prices are higher than before, suggesting that Bitcoin can hardly be replaced by another altcoin. In the future there may be many such splits, but it will not affect Bitcoin at all. Bitcoin Gold is just like BCH with its glossy appearance
Yes, not much different from the new altcoin look named BCH in August, as well as crypto type named bitcoingold launched in the near future aims to defeat the classic bitcoin values that many investors are interested in but will not be able to beat the bitcoin position as crypto no 1 to the moment this.

project is not ready. they won't even meet the deadline. the price could be sub 10 usd by the time they release it.
There has already been several warnings from platforms like coinbase on bitcoin gold so probably it will just be a dead coin soon.
That is what i also believe so. But i am still surprise that bitcoin gold is still holding to a value of $100 at this point of posting. I do expect it to go as low as $10 or so. It seems like the community overall still love the word 'bitcoin' so there is some demand for bitcoin gold even thought it really serve no purpose in my view.
I think It will die in mid-term since BTG doesn't have many supporter.
At least they got a cooler website than bitcoincash
