For now Bitcoins is not much really familiar with millions of people all around the world.  it is possible if Bitcoins has a fix and stable
price value to become a new currency of the new generation. Cheesy

Yes its the new currency, all other currencies are shit and are performing really fucked compared to it, Bitcoin was the best performing currency for the last 6 years, and seems like this year its going to be the best again.

And the worst performing currency in 2014...  Bitcoin!

i dont think that guys "offense" was the pennies. but probably his tone when interacting with the clerk.
as the story lightly mentions but the subtle hint is there.
he claimed he didnt owe the money
he dumped the coins onto the counter
he demanded they count it.

to me that does not sound like a calm and courteous conversation. and these days many public-service locations have a 'zero-tolerence' policy in regards to verbal abuse

the guy obviously went in there with the intend to cause mischief, atleast he should have been the better person and do it maturely with a polite smile on his face while politely watching the staff.. instead of sounding arrogant

however, if the story sounded more like
the gentleman calmly walked in and placed the coins on the desk and courteously stood back to allow them to be counted, politely saying he doesnt believe he owes the fine but would like a receipt so that he can appeal and get a refund at a later date.
.. then i would have thought it was about the "pennies"

Exactly, bitcoins is the new currency and it is also the best of all, and in future it will break all its records and will create a new history in terms of a currency.

If the bitcoin has a stable price it's good to used as new currency that we can use but now i think that it's not the right time to use this kind of digital money as a currency.
Unstable price?it's not a big problem but I prefer and become my priority is legalism for bitcoin so that it's will make a community is easy to receive bitcoin become a part of their community.

Exactly right.

No one is forced to trade with anyone.

This is intetesting though: while a retailer can refuse your $100, as they can simply forgo the sale, a restraunteur cannot. The sale happened when they brought your meal and you ate it. Leaving a debt.

Their choice is then to accept the $100 or not.

Here's the really intrtesting bit: they are not, however, obliged to give you change.

But wouldn't they then have a debt with you?  Which they could pay in any means they wish!?
I don't fully understand why they wouldn't be obliged to give you change, why isn't that always the case then?

I found it interesting anyway, thanks!

If bitcoin would be in the line of new currencied then bitcoin must have fixed and stable price so people will use it, but we all know that even dollars is not stable im pointing that it will not have price spike again

After reading this article you will laugh. Then read some of the comments... apparently usd isnt a currency to police officers, LOL
Maybe someone should suggest bitcoins to this guy. He might be able to avoid being fined.

Bitcoin is going to continue to be a shitty currency as long as we have price spikes like we've had.  The US dollar doesn't jump or drop like that.  There is inflation, yes, but the dollar doesn't lose value as fast as cryptocurrency can and does.

I hate spending bitcoin.  There's absolutely no reason to, for me.  I've got fiat and a debit card and all the places I want to buy things from take dollars, not bitcoin.  I love it as digital gold, though.

One more reason why bitcoin is better then any other currency. I think this is a good thread, it explains how governments can make their work much easier then it is now. Of course everyone will try to trick system and to use something in evil purposes, but even with that I think btc is better. Fiat brings much more bad things on this world then anything else. Facts are around us for people who can see the truth.

We can work and hope for bitcoin to become new global currency, if it rise enough after this halving we can expect miracles in years ahead us. Remember my words!

Bitcoins must be the new currency,..

well, anyone can say this things it can be possible or not possible to be happen,
unless one powerfull person declare that the currency in all countries will be one... Undecided

Your suggestion looks quite valuable but in reality I don't thing no such person has the power to do it. If such a single currency system is followed there will be economic outbreak between countries.

I paid off my car being towed with pennies once, $66.00 in a crown royal bag that I brought over to the tow lot.  The guy was pissed, but I pointed to his sign that said CASH ONLY and said in a nice calm voice......"this is cash isn't it?"  He looked me pretty angrily and said "We're going to have to count them."  I said I was happy to, since my car was there and I had plenty of time.  By the time we were done I was smiling, and he was pretty upset, and there was nothing he could do.  I haven't been towed since, hopefully never will again.

Skysurfer808

Um, do you think this company gets called out and declines to tow you because you paid in pennies? Maybe I'm inferring an implication that isn't there.
