Bitcoin has a tendency to go sideways and then boom drops lower, in the short term. In the long term, we are going to see price rise. The mid-term? Who knows, it goes up and down, and down and up. It's a topsy turvy world here.

Yes it is perfectly normal for the price to go up and down and vice versa. That is the thing with assets and currencies.
There is no way to skip that. Just accept it and don't get lured into panic selling.

I actually am starting to worry a bit from competitor coins now. If core doesnt get its finger out soon then maybe we might all be in big trouble.

It is just a normal move in the bitcoin market. Such as the price went up at the beginning of this week.
So there is no need to freak out. If you can not deal with this small down move , then you better sell your btc

And it will go even lower when people realize bitcoin will not scale in any meaningful way for at least the next 2 years.

Price will probably be in $100s in the next 2 years.

Bitcoin will scale, I 'm not worried in the slightest about that.
The thing is it might not scale as you want it to.
Price of $100 therefore is pure bs.

Only time will tell but $100 is too low even if an altcoin becomes the king. If things don't go too well it will still be valued around the $200 or $300 mark.

Exactly said. The reality is even when the market is very bad also the price of bitcoin has not went beneath the 350$. So we can be good faith that at any situation bitcoin won't go very low.

In the past year it went below $200 a couple times, $200 is not an unbreakable barrier, if worst case scenario happens, $100 to $200 bitcoins seems possible.

It seems possible but the fact is that the bitcoin is always getting back up it cannot lose in my eyes.
And in fact it never did lose, because there are always people that still believe in the bitcoin, and there will come more halving so that will create a boost.

Hello guys Smiley i want to ask you guys something .

Will bitcoin survive this year? Because the rates of btc are goin down and down Sad

Just look at the long term graph and you will see that the Bitcoin price is going up instead of down. Wink You focus too much on the short term. And yes, Bitcoin will definitely survive this year, not sure why you even ask this question.

People are only interested in short term gains. They just look at how the price has been performing last week and from there they make predictions. It doesn't make sense, but that is how they work.

It would've been better if your check the charts and see for yourself how's the trend recently (mostly gains instead of loss of value) in which clearly it;s an upward trend (currently up by 0.16% for today alone and standing at $422). It's survival was never a real thread specially after a whole big community and developers constantly making sure everything is how it supposed to be.

for me moving it down is next to impossible, bitcoin is already recognize by many now a days and it will be more popular in the next coming years, as we worried about the fluctuation, this year might be a good year to invest with bitcoin since many alt developers rely from the success of bitcoin,.

I think OP is worrying a lot this time, maybe because he is looking at the chart and set it at 1 minute or 1 hour... this is not the only time that price dip lower when it reaches $400, but the good thing is that it is just above that price..

Bitcoin would definitely survive this year... Smiley

Well this is normal. The price goes up, then goes down etc. Nothing to be worried about unless you need your money this very instant.
If you do well then you have a problem and you should reconsider your investments.

this is what's wrong with this market.
we all know that there always has been swings in the price this big but some people don't know and panic with each swing up or down and act without thinking and push the price sideways.

I don't see it going down in any sense ? The price is just fluctuating as usual and is above 400 mark right now.The answer to your question depends on the Huge miners or whales mostly and i don't think day to day traders have lot of impact on it though.
anyways,it should survive the mining all the time,so do your calculation.

Just quoting this so I remember to tell you were wrong. There is no way bitcoin would be in $100s within two years. Nope, just nope. I believe there will be another pump before the halving and we will see $500 going down.

At a moment the price of bitcoin is going lower, but I don't think there is anything to worry, small ups and downs will always follow bitcoins, price will rise at the time of halving.
