I saw this post on Facebook this morning and I wanted to share that memory with everyone here too, but I was just busy contemplating where will be the right board to share this, as I don’t know where it actually belong since I’m not yet too conversant with the forum and things that need to be posted in a particular board, and running a quick search I also come across this your post which if I don’t I could have made the mistake of duplicated topic.

Indeed it’s a thing worth to be celebrated in my own opinion, it marks the very beginning of some ideas regarding bitcoin which has grown up to the level that it is right now.

Should we call it 14yrs anniversary or what should it be titled as?
Next time, just follow your mind and do what you have to do in time. Even if you are wrong about the section you posted it, you will be guided rightly and moderators can help you move it to the right section, we always got each other. Smiley

By the way, I wonder how a big head like CZ knows much about Bitcointalk but couldn't come here to advertise...he needs a cane...lol.

Above all, Happy Birthday to Bitcointalk! The best and greatest forum I've ever participated in. Aside from the monetary benefits, this site has ever been an educational blessing and eye-opener. It has encouraged me to invest in Bitcoin and other coins and has increased my knowledge of online protection and safety. Kudos!

Happy birthday to Bitcointalk forum I won't just say I have learnt enough and yet still learning and gaining more experience as time goes. There's no forum like here and I can profess that no place no forum and site that has covered a variety of information and bitcoin discussion than this forum.

Truly it's worth celebrating!

Come to think of it — I wonder how long Bitcointalk would've survived if it wasn't for signature campaigns? Activity wouldn't be this big if it wasn't for bounties.

Who knows maybe only few users could have been active by now, but still we also appreciate the forum for creating a space for signature to be hosted here.

Only those passionate about Bitcoin discussion and those who are into altcoin bounty campaigns. We have something to thank the administrator even though it is a give-and-take where participants create content and get compensated for creating discussions that ranked the forum on top of some of the keywords pertaining to Bitcoin and other keywords related to Cryptocurrency.

I hope we can celebrate our silver anniversary with all the prime movers and great contributors still here doing the things they are good at doing.

satoshi account was created one day later. Still it's a good catch. I don't see any thread celebrating Bitcointalk's birthday. Happy 14 years!

I think that these posts are somehow hidden or even deleted.
I just noticed (from my full Merit data - large file) that satoshi received 1 Merit from gmaxwell for this post. I'm not sure if it was posted in public, but I'm pretty sure the post didn't get deleted. So Mods: what did he post? Cheesy

That was one of the test messages in Staff Forum. Also first post of satoshi in the forum.
Since it's not confidential information, I guess there is no harm in sharing it. Smiley

Come to think of it — I wonder how long Bitcointalk would've survived if it wasn't for signature campaigns? Activity wouldn't be this big if it wasn't for bounties.

In the beginning, there were no signature campaigns, and in addition, Bitcoin did not have a price that motivated people, as is the case today - and yet a respectable community was created then, of which, unfortunately, there are not many members who are active on the forum today. Of course, the campaigns played a big role (and they still do today), although it should be said that the benefit was mutual because many companies from the world of cryptocurrencies successfully advertised on this forum.

I see this admin user has 7 posts, but can't see his posts, what's wrong with that?

I think that these posts are somehow hidden or even deleted. As far as I remember, it was probably some kind of test posts that did not have any important meaning. See more here -> Older profile than Theymos

Seriously we won't have gotten much traffic if it wasn't for SIG campaign, and I know we have members who would kick against it. It doesn't matter if we tell ourselves the truth or not. These campaign makes the form to be extra busy and it has improved many users posting quality.

If it was possible I would have ordered a cake...
Congratulations to Bitcointalk and thank you for making it possible for us to be here.

Happy 14 years old Bitcointalk, alright so... will we see 14th anniversary art contest? /jk.
............
Why not? But it's probably not going to happen this year since it's already late. The last time it happened was a month before the anniversary, so maybe it'll happen on the 15th anniversary. Let's see if the admins has a surprise for us. I've been participating in art contests in the service section this past months but this BitcoinTalk art contest is the one I've been waiting for. If I'm not mistaken you won the last BitcoinTalk art contest.

True. These sig campaigns are like the engine that keeps the forum working and lively because if anyone were to argue otherwise and say it's mainly for the information, I think that would be telling yourself a lie because if it were so, you could have gotten that info elsewhere. The sigs and bounty campaigns just added spice and a uniqueness to the forum...Happy belated anniversary to BitcoinTalk!

Given the historic past for satoshi 14 years ago and now that we look back, Binance tweeted satoshi on X.com because this is the history of the inventor of bitcoin.

Thinking like that that if there was no signature campaign it wouldn't last long and it wouldn't get this much traffic, but that's how the forum's complementary signature promotion grew bigger.

Signature campaigns and bounties definitely liven things up around here, but I wonder what Bitcointalk would be like without them? I guess folks might still hang around just to chat crypto though. The vibe would definitely change but change isn't always bad.

It wouldn't have been successful as this I can give you that but it's all part of the process because Bitcoin gaining awareness was bound to be use in some many field and the gambling industry was the ideal business to help boost this rapid growth and with this came so many other initiative that would follow for the awareness of Bitcoin used as a means for gambling and so many other services and where would be the perfect or ideal place of not for the official Bitcointalk site created to help spread the word on Bitcoin.

Well with that been said, happy 14 years anniversary to the forum and massive Bitcoin awareness  Grin
Firstly, I would have to use one of the social media platforms, for instance, like Instagram, one of the best social media platforms, and why, because most celebrities are there using the platform and they are paid according to their likes, comments and followers, same as Twitter (X) too.
However, if those social media platforms can still pay their users, I still believe that even without the signature champagne there might still be another means users will get paid, just like the merits source, moderators and staff. Even if not all the forum members are getting paid, there will still be people on the forum.

14 years after the founder of this bitcointalk forum Satoshi Nakamoto registered on this forum, alot of improvement have been put in place since then, more users registering on daily basis. Indeed this forum have transformed the life of so many individuals across the world, this global forum have brought about togetherness among users across the world as there have been cordial interaction among one another on how to help each other achieve the adoption of this future generation currency call bitcoin.

Yes, as much as they have been criticised for the quality, both the signature campaigns and the gambling section I believe they have played an important role in both the survival of this forum and the popularisation of bitcoin.

I believe it will survive without signature campaigns, but survive with very less traffic. Seeing how a forum is successful by having a signature campaign, I wonder why the other forum not follow this kind promotion.

This has been discussed many times and if for example signature campaigns were banned here, for reasons of quality or whatever, what would happen is that campaigns and traffic would go to another forum. So it's not going to happen, especially since the merit system was introduced, which improved the situation with spam a lot.

To be technically correct, satoshi never posted on Bitcointalk. He was a member on the bitcoin forums that were hosted on bitcoin.org and sourceforge. Satoshi disappeared before Bitcointalk was created with this domain. All his/their posting was done on the old forums.
