thats why i change my password from time to time, to be honest i think that there will always be a danger that this is going to happen

That is a good practice. Also make sure you don't reuse passwords across websites.

Theymos didn't report anything but the DDOS attacks so I doubt anyone got access to the database. However , I'm interested in knowing how you got access to that link (from where you got it) as I can't find anything about it on the internet (beside your thread and this website : https://hacked-emails.com/leak/pb-QfHRVwda)

Reply of theymos on reddit:

'Perhaps they're using the DDoS as advertising, but otherwise it's totally unrelated. The database was leaked over a year ago (I sent everyone an email about it at the time), and although it was not publicly for sale, it's been floating around in certain circles since then. If it could do any major harm, then the harm would've already been done.'

IMO it is hacker's scam, anyway, 400k accounts for 1 btc is top cheap. If the average price including newbies is 0.001 btc. They are worth: 0.001*400000=400btc. Silly hacker? No, who buys his shit is really silly and can't analyze anything.

LoL.. Someone was any opportunity to seize them, already everyone account from list changed password.
Soon we can expect a wave of scam attempts or selling "old" newbie account.

Altcoin ico scammers like old accounts, I hope they won't access the old and newbie accounts.

So what are you 'd think we expect from you? a hacker? a what? As what others said this accounts are all newbies or non accessible accounts. And making some new account to inform us all about this. And even theymos said that its only a DDOS and no one access the database of the site

IMO it is hack's trick, there are almost 1 million accounts here. And if he has 400k accounts with password, he can slowly sell those accounts(senior, hero, lengendary levels are expensive), that money will be much more than 1 btc per sale.

It was a scam. the accounts he shared is newbies or non accessible.

I highly doubt that this is a 'fresh dump'. Besides, after quickly skimming through most of those accounts, they seem to be random people. Examples of accounts that I tried to log in to:
Quote
sonnyacg|honeybees|[email protected]
somethingmad|vipowered91|[email protected]
Patrikosz22|cfb9e62d|[email protected]
Those did work, but were all either brand new or newbies.

I think, someone is trying to get people believe he has hacked the forum so that he could scam them for "selling" the DB. He should just contribute with his own account, though since it is very easy to earn money on the forum with legit work and people who believe he really has the DB could learn a lesson how to deal with shady people.
