This parody is like an annual marathon where runners compete with other runners to reach the finish line. Congratulations to LoyceV and the other names in the video, although I don't think your merits stop there. Yeah, I think it's like a folk party on the state online forum bitcointalk.org.  Tongue

It never occurred to me that this kind of thing could be made into content  Smiley
Next, who publishes NFTs merit projects ?

Me, I want to do it. Except I'm not sure if I'd have any buyers.

I'm keen on the idea of developing forum-related NFTs using the Counterparty (XCP) protocol, which uses the Bitcoin blockchain... Just have to finalize the standards and quit various jobs to make the time to do it...

So you have to prepare it first team and a good concept to attract buyers you can start at a low price here certainly must avoid the Ethereum network IMHO
We see some users in the video maybe you can discuss with them.

Didn't we have this sort of animation in some thread on the forum before?  I thought I recalled seeing something like this, though it could have been some other stat.

I made lots of those animations some months ago and posted them here
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.54641847

The problem is that it is very hard to keep those animations up to date. I have to manually update them, so I gave up updating after a while.
I know it's hard to manually collect all the data and then present it in virtual format to present in an attractive manner and create all those bar charts for all those members but you also have done quite well in that thread and published information about the merit achievements of members back then.See how far they all have come within these 3 years? But yes @OP has done good job with creating such a thread again to rejoice for all on that list and remember their good old days and maybe we see more like of it in near time. The @Op video has 96 views and 7 likes and as usual 1 dislike from someone who is not happy to see members grow so ignore it.

I was rooting for myself to win but the highest I ever got was 10th place, dammit.

Anyway, good job OP

Edit: my favorite moment in this, as it was with the last version I saw, was during the end of the battle between LoyceV and DdmrDdmr when DdmrDdmr had nearly caught up and then LoyceV was just like "nope" and sped ahead into glory.

Nice animation by @OP that makes clear visual comparison among members in race to earn merits and how they all came way ahead from the start and how the bar graphs rose for all of them and now they are with huge merit banks and most of them are merit sources as well and distributing merits on the forum among low rank members.Nice work @OP

Emotional every time I see those kind of animation, as I remember every moment of it.
Yes i can feel it as seeing your long and hard working journey on the forum and seeing yourself ranking up to that level within short span could make anyone emotional and you should be proud of how you come up to be one of few members with 7000+ merits.

It was a long race, and even though I know how it ends (for now), I watched all of it. It looks like I'll be kicked off #1 somewhere next year.
It's hard until you are planning to stop posting as still you are the top merit earner on the forum with dethroning theymos also and see how you have 600 merits when he was already above 2k and now you are at 9177 merits. It will be hard to kick you off from #1 position until next year as still all are behind you so you keep up the pace and will be at same position.

Top-merited users, recent merit shows some users are consistently earning more Merit than me now. That's okay, and well deserved Smiley Earning large amounts of Merit is a lot of work.
Although i am on that list but still there are members earning way more than me including you man and i know how hard is to earn merits as you need to spend quality time on forum working hard to make effective contributions. But hard work pays off and seeing myself on that list makes me happy and motivated to do more. Will try to climb that ladder.

Yep, that would be it.  It's amazing to me how you and other members of the community find threads like that so quickly, just based off a vague description.  Either you've got a great memory or I'm not using very good search technique.
Actually the members are fast in finding such threads i agree with you on that but actually it's not hard if you see like i also used forum search and write merit race animation without any filter and came up the thread from bitmover in first place for the link mentioned by RickDeckard. You can try it by yourself also and will came up with all the similar keywords matching your search. That's why i like forum where you can find all easily or members are eager to answer your doubts.

Thank you, gorgeous table. The main confrontations by merit are the pairs:

LoyceV-theymos
fillippone-El duderino
DdmrDdmr-suchmoon
Ratimov-LFC_Bitcoin

In some couples, there is still a fierce struggle for a place in the table.  Cheesy
These are some top merit rivalries and you all seem to be competent and you are earning more than 400 merits to reach new levels. That can help some low rank members to motivate themselves that ranking up the pipeline is possible if you are dedicated and capable of it.By the way sending you 1 smerit to make your total 5222 so that it looks good and you can save it here.

This is the exact moment when I gained my 7000th merit!
DON'T MERIT AND DRIVE!

The poster on the right with the inscription IDEALISTA. Coincidence? I do not think so.  Cheesy

Ahead road sign with number 70. Coincidence again? Excluded.

Also noteworthy the poster on the left, remembering the nickname “Italian Stallion”.

Yeah, you caught me: I have been sitting on that motorway for a few days waiting for the moment to take the picture.

It was a mix of some factors I believe, mainly due to the fact that there are other threads that gather the nature of OP's video (such as the one shared by tranthidung) or even this one[1]. I remembered that one mainly because it was there that I heard about bitmover domain - bitcoindata.science[1] - and at the time I thought that it was a neat project so I guess it ended up being "printed" on my mind (which ended up being useful in some way).
Seriously--the only (or at least the fastest) way those top five members or so are going to be out-merited is if they suddenly leave the forum, and there's no indication that's going to happen anytime soon.  I'm OK with that, since merit earning isn't a competition for me, but my general competitive spirit has always been pretty low anyway.  In other members, that spirit of competition is much stronger and it probably does matter--and that's not a bad thing in this case.  The only thing it could lead to is better quality posts and more of them, so good luck to everyone who's in the race!
I'm kinda on your team on that matter - I don't consider myself a natural born competitor (as in, having a low competitive spirit) - but for sure is quite rewarding seeing not only the merit race, but knowing that this "race" represents organic and helpful content being generated for the community. So I do hope to see, say in 10 years from now, newer entrants on this list whilst the big ones keep competing since I see that in this kind of competition there are no losers, the community as a whole ends up gaining from it, no matter which result we get in the end. Bravo guys!

Looking at the list, I think it will be hard for me to catch any of the guys currently above me. Even to just be 10th in the ATH merit received list is an honour. Some of the guys above me are merit animals.

Don't worry, LFC_Bitcoin, even if someone is a little faster, that doesn't negate the fact that you are the Merit-Tyrannosaurus of this forum. Roll Eyes Cool Cheesy

You will soon have 5000 earned merit, can count such people on this forum on the fingers of two hands.  Smiley

filippone will collect 7000 merit very soon, collects all the forum's merit, we don't get anything. Cheesy

I had fun with this, remember numbers are not perfect since the month is not over also the number you see it can be different from the amount of the merit on the user profile page.

Click on play to see the race!

(ps I don't need merit if you want a favor just like and subscribe to my little channel Grin)

LoyceV. Got my attention  from 10th place to 1st is not easy to achieve, but as we can see  LoyceV got the highest Merits within 3 years here in Forum.
And I assure that he/she is deserve for that achievement cause he/she have done a good work for our Forum.

Also Ratimov from September 2020  untill now he became a 8th placer.

I think that The Pharmacist may be reffering to this thread - Earned Merit Race Animation - See if you ever got to top20 merited.
  • Stats – The Merit Speedy Gonzales’ of the forum
  • Total earned merit is a good factor to assess quality and contribution of members but it is not reflected all things behind.
  • The increase of earned merit rate (by using rate, I meant the increase over a specified period of time) is a better indicator to assess the level of growth and contribution between users over specific period. The topic of @DdmrDdmr is helpful in this aspect
  • The animation of @coinlocket$shows it too - if you notice the changes. DdmrDdmr and o_l_e_l_o had good rates, then DdmrDdmr were slow down. Recent months, we are witnessing the super fast growing of @fillippone and @Ratimov
