It's not blocking IPs I guess but the forum is working very slow these days. I get a timeout error and Webpage not available error most of the times while other sites work well. It was down yesterday as well and today again I couldn't access the forum for about 10-15 minutes.

Sometimes happen me to but I don't think that is a kind of block by someone or something. Maybe the bitcointalk is to busy to accept all the requests. Or something wrong with your internet provider. I wait some minutes and try again. The most of the times I connect regularly after this. Have you tried after a while?

I always get the message at least twice or more times a day, it has been on and off like this for maybe three weeks or so.

Just cannot connect, does not happen anywhere else.
I'm getting the CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT error but I thought it was something up with my internet.  The problem hasn't occurred once now since I came back from China a couple days ago.

strange i was thinking that was my fault or just my dns fault, because i havent time, i didnt try to change my dns to see if this works, but now looks strange that im not the only one who suffer it.

lets hope that admins are working on it, i dont want to see our lovely forum down again Wink

I prefer Zakir over Muhammed when mentioning me!
I also could not access Bitcointalk.org sometimes but after reloading for 1-5 minutes and sometimes longer. Maybe, because of the new anti-DDoS program?

..like bright metal on a sullen ground.
Yeah, have been experiencing the same thing. Thought maybe it was because my IP was being incorrectly blocked during a DDoS attack. Glad to know it wasn't just me  Smiley.

Sometimes I get connection refused or page failed to load error.

I just check the twitter to see if the downtime will be bigger and go do something else for 1h at least, when I'm back the issue auto-solved

now i feel better Smiley
i thought i was alone , but this shows that a lot of others are having the same problem.

i don't know how reliable this site is but whenever i checked bitcointalk on there (yesterday) it says it is down or it was down a while ago:
http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/bitcointalk.org.html

as you can see it was last down 4 hours 22 mins ago by the time i am posting this.

It's been happening quite frequently here too. Normal I guess, maybe the connection can't handle all this load Cheesy

I've been seeing the same issue for the last several days, various providers, Verizon, Comcast, Integra etc.  Forum will timeout or give connection refused randomly and for up to an hour.

hee-ho.
Ok, so it seams that the problem is not isolated to an ISP or country, which is a relief. I tried using google and open DNS in effort to resolve the issue but failed.
Can anyone else confirm that they also get the issue after opening up bitcointalk in more tabs, maybe it's some sort of defence mechanism to prevent ddos ?
It gets really anoying at times, especially when it happens few times in an hour..

cheers

opened 20 pages in different tabs and reloaded 5 times. all pages loads a little slow (as expected) but I see no change.

In the last few minutes I had a BCT page open , right clicked show unread posts then got dumped off the site.

The same thing here, maybe a traceroute can clarify more 'the situation'.

Same here, in fact just had a timeout. Refresh did nothing for ~5 minutes.

I'm also getting the connection refused error, it's been hard to surf the forum for the last hour or so I've been online, it comes and goes.

I get this at least a couple of times a day, but refreshing the page does the job for me.

I was getting this as well intermediately. I was attempting to access the forum from my iPhone (US) with no VPN, and was eventually able to access the forum after some amount of time.

I couldnt access the forum on my home PC. Was curious so tried neighbors WiFi and same thing, appears to be a comcast ISP issue or just a coincidence? Loads fine using another ISP and my mobile.

Wonder what's going on?

this happened to me as well. what's weird is I checked some "is a site down" sites and half of them says that bitcointalk is up while the others said that it's down..  Huh usually all of them says down if I can't connect.
