I've asked if the mods can merge similar threads, but they seem to be pretty busy with the other cleanup tasks.

Apart from the shit posts I think the forum is becoming really repetitive.
Lots of people asking the same thing.

When is bitcoin going to rise? and Should i buy now? sort of posts, the
boards are full of them.

You see this horse shit/pigs vomit of a post is what we are all moaning about. FFS read a little and if you cannot read English WTF are you doing here?

I'd already got him on ignore, and from your quote I can see why. The forum has changed a lot for me since I've been using the ignore button. I even found a post to merit on the beginners board earlier.

Earlier time to now most of people earned merits from the local boards in Russian and Dutch language. Unless we may not sure about the post answer and reply they have shared, we cannot say this one is fine one as quality content and another one is not.
Mostly reasonable merits has been shared from the sender's view. If anybody find the shit just ignore them.

I agree that the OP is a shitpost. But the reply discussing war and bitcoin and how bitcoin can fund war and thus actually be equal to an arms and artillery war is actually not a shitpost. In my professional career, they've taught us to be cultured and open-minded. So such a post should be scrutinized liberally.

I asked myself, "What if he's ESL?" It's hard for someone who doesn't speak English natively to speak on an English thread with much proficiency.

I also asked myself, "what if he just sucks at writing?" Writing posts is still writing. It requires the ability to articulate your thoughts into well-formed sentences and paragraphs -- and not everyone in the world possesses this ability.

That said, I feel as though that poster is actually conveying his true insights of a philosophical nature on how bitcoin itself is a wholly different war from the physical wars we have, but how bitcoin can actually be part of a physical war. It's something to ponder especially given the fact that some arms dealers may have indeed accepted bitcoin on the deep web for their illegal transactions.
OP I can respect at least, because I've read a lot of his posts and I think I've even given him merit in the past.

There's a world of difference between someone who doesn't speak English as a first language but can articulate his thoughts enough to get them across (AND has something interesting to write) vs. the standard shitposter who writes the same thing over and over.  And usually it's "bitcoin has a bright future we can get profit by trading an campaig but it risky if price fall we must hodl" or something similar.  Those idiots I can't abide by.

LeGaulois is a great example of someone who is not a native English-speaker but who can still write good posts--and he's a good guy from my interactions with him.  He doesn't deserve criticism, much less a ban, because of his language skills.

Haha I also noticed such tend. To me all this spreaded posts look like "Please, give me a Merit"  Cheesy It was fun to read and comment them all in the beginning, but now they are just annoying. Well, at leas people make an effort, right?! It is good, just I do not see that someone really merit such posts, so, I guess all those commentators will do something better than just a long shit post; maybe that new think will work well and let their dreams come true.

Multiple times I proposed to either

To warn (and then to ban if it's not enough) the campaign managers for the lack of responsibility:
they also have their share of responsibility in accepting such posters. Running a campaign is not just to copy paste a template adding images to it, accepting members, and paid them once a week.

If the projects are happy to see their website tied to shitposts then it's fine, but they may be too warned. I do remember a campaign (Qtum?) which received a warning for the same thing.

To make a membership allowing members to wear a signature, something like 200$ per year I don't know.

I stopped to visit the altcoins forum for a long time now. I know even dislike altcoins as such as I don't want to hear of any (I am interested in only 3 and it's enough). When I receive an email about an altcoin/ICO project, I don't bother to reply.

Can someone please give this dude a merit for me?  I laughed at this one.

Yep, this is exactly what's happening, and if campaigns suddenly changed their character minimum to 20,000 characters, you know what we'd get?  You guessed it.  We'd have idiots going out of their pea-sized minds trying to not repeat themselves while they blab on and on about how bitcoin has a great future, it helps their family, it gave them a job since they joined bitcoin, etc.

If campaigns told them they had to write in Latin, they'd do it.
If campaigns told them they had to sexually insult their own mothers, they'd do it.

I have an extensive ignore list, but the most important feature of bitcointalk (for me) is the "ignore board" option.  Economics and Bitcoin Discussion are where most of this shit gets sphinctered out, so I have those on ignore.  I feel bad for Hilariousandco for having to moderate his sections.  It's a nonstop shitfest on some of them.

LMAO!

Bitcointalk is changing for good, some people are improving their writing and some of them just lengthening their shitwriting but I won’t these people get tired at some point after seeing their effort doesn’t pay up any merits?

They'll soon find out that writing lengthy post won't give them merits. As the point of the merit system is not by giving sMerits to those who have more lines in their post but for those post who are well thought as well as being an informative one. Lengthy post without substance will make them gain anything. If they have enough realization they can either improve their grammar and writing skills or quit Bitcointalk for good both of which is a win-win for the whole community.

I just put those long arsed posters on ignore. That makes the boards much easier to read.
I'm a little bit off topic but would you mind sharing your ignore list? Maybe create a thread/add to your site and keep it updated.

I have put together a page, but I need to qualify it. I put some members on there for excessive formatting, and I am told that they are good members. Others are merit cheats and sellers, and bounty spammers. I need to find some way of qualifying my list if I am making it public.

Oh!! This is Poetry!!!! Joyce would be jealous...

I really feel there are many boards totally and complete contaminated by this kind of shitposters. "Beginners $ Help" feels like a loop, every day the same questions about the "begging system"; "Bitcoin Discussion" sometimes is a total joke with too many people trying to look brilliant, but when you pay attention to their words all you can do is to burst out laughing.
I prefer to avoid the "Economic" because it seems full of scammers, and there is no longer interesting posts...
But, whatever, this is normal, we are too many around here.
I agree. Almost all of the topics in Bitcoin Discussion are spams. They're not even discussing about Bitcoin anymore, that's why I'm not visiting Bitcoin Discussion more often now, it seems like shitposters already invaded Bitcoin Discussion, just the same with Economic. Meta section is the only place here where some topics catches my interest, but as we can see. Spammers/shitposters are now starting to invade Meta section. Newbies and farmed accounts are posting topics repeatedly which is annoying.

To OP,
Well it seems like shitposters/spammers are not posting one to two liner posts anymore Smiley They are now posting posts with more than 500 characters, but the content is still nonsense. They are just making their posts long so that people will be attracted to Merit their posts. Because of the long content, there is a possibility that people might think that their posts are conducted by research and effort for the first time you look at it, but the truth is, when your starts to read it, you will only witnessed a Spam post with a nonsense content and broken English words.

Some people here missed the chance to know that a Good Quality of post isn't based on how many lines of sentences does a post have, they didn't know that it is based on how Good the contents are.

Bitcoin is my hobby
Bitcoib is my succesfull

I literally laughed out loud at this one.. can you imagine if you saw this on a shirt somewhere?

Bitcoib is my succesfull is the best bit.

Writing lengthy posts without any substantial content is there since the dawn of signature campaigns.Often, such posts are mistaken for "Quality Posts" which they aren't.However, good campaign managers like Lutpin/Lauda that I'm aware of don't really care how long a post is if it's constructive.

Not going to mention names but there are still campaigns filled with such lengthy use-less shit-posters.I call it "progressive shit-posting".

It is true that signature campaigns made people write longer as well but I think with the merit system they write longer than before and with a structure that tries to appear as “quality”.

By the way, is that thread reportable?

You can report any thread you wish and it's up to the moderator that handles it whether they agree or not.
