For us newbies, perhaps before we try to hunt for merit I think it would be best if we should learn more about the forum and its cycle as a whole.

Here, this is it! I wish everyone who opened a new membership in the forum thinks like you and does not create message pollution with ambition to earn money immediately. Oh, how beautiful would it be ... Members who think like you deserve it until the end to earn profit without noticing the rank. I hope that in a short time you can reach the rank you deserve and start to earn a good income.

No, dude. The point or goal of having an account here is not to earn an income... While this forum is a good way to earn, that shouldn't be the overall end goal, but rather, a byproduct of being a good poster with genuine interest in the bitcoin field/industry.

That's similar ro reddit's gold it seems

That's actually a great comparison! Merit here is very similar to reddit gold in the sense of distribution and rewarding someone for outstanding content. Good reference!

This.

I don't know whether yours is a new account after having an existing account tagged for solely hunting merit, or you're an actual newbie who cares, but your statement, as simple as it is, hits the nail on the head.

Merit is a byproduct of great posts and activity on the forums, not a given right. A lot of members tend to believe that they have a RIGHT to 'earn' merits. This thought needs to be eradicated from people's minds.

In my 7 months here in the forum I've seen so many help topics to help and give new members ideas and gain ranks in the forum,I've also seen so many threads how many old members are so annoyed with how new users spam good topics in this forum. Now,I'm thinking of a way to somehow contribute even a little how we could fight spam post from new members.

These are just my suggestions,i hope it would be a help

1.New members should have a total activity time of 120-150 hours before they could start posting.(there are lots of developers and programmers in this forum, maybe they could help how to implement it in bitcointalk system). This would surely make new users browse the forum and read begginers related topic until they completed the given activity time.

2.After completing the total activity time, new users are limited to post 1/day only.Post allowed per day increase as the rank goes higher.(bounties exempted).

3.Before making a post, the system would ask the user,(something like captcha things)basic questions about bitcoin or anything related in the forum and the user need to answer it correctly before they can proceed.

4.Spam reported post should have penalties.Additional activity time or not allowed to post for some days or weeks.continous doing of spam activities may results for their account to be suspended or permanently banned from this forum.(way of the ironfist).

This may look unfair for new users and would really take them a lot of time to learn. But the time we would spend reading informative post here in the forum would give us great knowledge and advantage in our future crypto careers.

I hope my suggestions could somehow help the forum fight the overpopulated spammers in bitcointalk.

Although these details you mentioned may seem difficult for new members, we can be sure that there are important points in the forum that can prevent message pollution. Although new members will argue that these details are not fair, I would like to state that new memberships can not be held with old memberships. Old memberships were opened in the forum with the purpose of information exchange and used for this purpose. In addition, while these memberships produce extremely high quality content and comments within the forum, new members only produce meaningless messages. Especially for you to comment, I would like to mention that there are limited quality memberships in the forum recently.

Everybody has different reason by joining this forum, the opinion of each topic of discussion and personality level knowledge of each person certainly cannot be equated, but I agree if it is useful to respect each others, regardless of whether the opinion of your post is useful or not.

I thought you'd suggest another proposal for the betterment of the forum as well as contribute to reduce shit post. But yeah, those three (Opening useful topics, help contents, and analysis, interpretation and forecasting) can possibly reward you with merit. I just want to add "being yourself", surely some members who like your personality and mentality would reward you with merit.

Certainly, it is important to know your own personality and never to change that personality. This is an important detail and behavior that should be in our life not in the forum. We can earn merit in the way you mentioned in the forum, and we are getting respect in our real life. Do not sacrifice our own personality, stand behind our own thoughts and defend those thoughts will have given us a different authority. A person who does not change his person in any way means that he has already got good reputation around him.

Not sure the giant Bitcointalk logos are entirely necessary... or are you trying to give yourself more credibility by making it look/sound like you're posting on behalf of Bitcointalk.org? Huh

Unfortunately, there have been about a million posts on this topic... it's been covered fairly well, and your post doesn't really include any new information... and certainly doesn't contain any "fine details about merit winning methods and proposals".

If someone wants merit... it's pretty simple:

1. Don't spam
2. Don't post in mega-threads
3. Don't make redundant "me too", "i agree", "great project!" type posts.
4. Be helpful (this involves having knowledge, which requires that you read and learn!)
5. Try and make thoughtful, reasoned, well constructed posts that contribute to the conversation (same as #4 read+learn)
6. Humour doesn't hurt Wink

Thank you for your valuable comment. Of course, the subject can not be perfect with every detail, but I paid attention to the transfer of the article. Every detail is necessary for all users, thank you for your suggestions and recommendations.

The post is useful but most newbie are not looking for such articles but just ask  Grin

Unfortunately, many users with Newbie membership are stray members. New individuals who learn that it is possible to earn money on this forum immediately open an account and write empty, unnecessary, ridiculous messages. For that reason, I do not think such topics are very useful to them. My first goal in creating this title is to create information sharing and really support the users who are working in the forum.

The Bitcointalk administration took a new step to change the rank system over the past few months, bringing the system "Merit". While this system has many improvements and deficiencies, it has reduced the spam comments in the forum to some extent. The unnecessary, ridiculous and irrelevant comments made by new members have become a serious problem in the forum in recent years. These people, who post messages for their signature campaigns, caused the message pollution in the forum, updating old subjects and getting useful information to disappear. The forum management decided to implement the system that gave the name "Merit" in order to get a little bit of these comments. Although this problem has not been solved completely, the number of people coming to earn money and multiple memberships have been reduced.

What is Merit?

Merit is just like the rep points we have encountered in Turkish forums. The first and most obvious difference of this system according to rep point system is that these merits can not be easily acquired. Winning a merit (sMerit) is also quite difficult, as winning a merit is quite difficult. There are also defined merit resources for the system cycle to stop. These resources can produce a certain number of merits per day and send them out. I do not extend much more information about this system than we can find on the main topic.

Opening Useful Topics

Merit is a must to open useful topics to win. We can earn Merit by sharing useful and informative content for users. Of course it will be very difficult to earn merit unless there are fine details, necessary explanations and important information in the topic title. Many details, such as special information, useful tactics, and more, are among the factors that will make Merit a winner.

Help Contents

Many members can not stop complaining about the fact that Merit can not win even though he has made several comments. I would like to give little information about this point which is among the biggest mistakes made. If written messages are out of the question, they are aimless and empty, or if they can not answer the questions asked by the subject, Merit is impossible to win. For that reason, we should make sure that when we make a comment, we should think carefully and produce the content and that the interpretation we write is plain and descriptive. It will be easier if you include examples in the explanations or make it easy to sample them.

Analysis, Interpretation and Forecasting

It is possible to earn Merit by making analysis, fatigue and forecasting, and presenting all this data with visual evidence. Of course, this factor will not be as effective as other factors, since any estimates, analyzes or predictions made will not have any share in accuracy. Whatever it is, it will be much better for you to add evidence to the comments made and, if necessary, keep the visual use at the highest levels.

All the data written in this article has been totally transferred according to my own thoughts and experiences. It is not quoted from any source. Anyone who wishes to write can publish it by stating that it is a quotation and showing the source address. I would like to remind you that the topic will be kept up to date as new experiences, information and ideas are learned.
