That weekend would work fine for me unless some family stuff comes up. I would prefer to play it on SWC.

If I get to play from home I will try and screen capture the event and show play from my perspective for fun. So far times have been fine for me - Saturday might work best but not an issue either way.

No God or Kings, only BITCOIN.
I'm fine with the date but if time will be adjusted earlier that will suit me as I'm from Asia. I guess it's best at SwC I really like playing there. So, I think we have to post a new poll and hope this time all that vote will really join, I do hope.

Stay tuned for some very special poker action going on soon guys! And thanks everybody for raising awareness!  Smiley
That sounds interesting. I wonder what awaits us.  Smiley

so when's the next game? the weekend of march 15th maybe?
The date would suit me just fine if nothing important should come up. On sportsbet or again on SwC?  Smiley

I'm also fine with that date, if nothing important come up, as always. I like SwC more than sportbet, since last poker I'm there almost everyday, I just come back from work and I plan to open a beer and play some poker. I can't wait for new tournament with bitcoin talk folks. We will see what planned for the next tournament, I guess Efialtis has some nice surprise for all of us.
I have one suggestion, list of participants in the last tournaments, winners and how much they won. You can add all interesting facts too, and it would be nice that to be in the first post!

I have a feeling that much more Bitcointalk users would participate, if they knew about it, but I can't think of anything better than just bumping this thread for bringing people's attention.

i think it would help to make a new thread each time a new game is announced. date + venue in the thread title and all details in the OP. that should give it more visibility and get more attention than a generic mega thread. anyone who posts in that thread should get added to the PM list for that game.

other than that, i'm not sure. i've been dropping announcements in the wall observer thread but haven't gotten much interest from those guys.

Want to show in poker all mastership of ukrainian gambling  Cheesy
That's great and hoping this time around we can have more tables for players and have that additional prize pool again if we can have enough of 15 players as Betwrong promised to add and I wanna witness those amazing flops from a Ukrainian player. Grin

Thoughts?
I think you're right about that. I only discovered this thread by accident. Maybe more post about the poker night in some local boards or reddit might help to raise awareness.  Smiley

I stand with Ukraine.
Although it was fun overall, the final showdown was simply hilarious. I was waiting for a Jack to have a King-high straight, and I got it, but I wasn't expecting this(especially playing heads-up):
I needed any card of clubs on the river to win, but that's life. Smiley
I sweated that river hard. I've been on that end of things so many times, where you are just in shock to see the flush over your straight. I actually thought you might have had a better flush.

I could have had a better flush if any of clubs appeared on the river, so I experienced a two seconds of hope. Smiley

I had pocket 8s, mate,
so you did the right thing folding your pocket J's. And congrats on winning the tournament!
Wow that's 2 spots where I easily could have gone broke. I didn't think you had 1 8, and rarely do I ever expect to be up against flopped quads. Man that's a crazy hand. Well played tournament all around.

Yeah, I also think that all the participants were nice to play with. Can't wait for the next Bitcointalk Poker Night.

~
i can set up another game at SwC (if people want) when everything is decided.

That would be great! I'm in, unless something unusual happens.

I have a suggestion to change the title of this thread to simply "Bitcointalk Poker Night", since it's no longer going on on Sportsbet only.

maybe this should just become a discussion/planning thread. when we decide the details for a new game, we can start a new thread with details in the OP and thread title. i have a feeling that will garner more views and interest from non-regulars.

I "suffered" a temp ban and looks like I missed a lot! I am back and learned a lesson. Wink

You guys had a tournament on swc poker? All smooth? Figment, thanks for setting it up!

glad to see you back dude!

i liked SwC's interface. no negative issues to report, and it was cool how they didn't charge us rake.

not sure about my availability the next few weeks, as some unexpected things have come up IRL. feel free to schedule the next one closer to rhomelmabini's preferred time. Smiley the toughest scheduling issue seems to be USA vs asian time zone.

As announced, I wasn't able to join last Sunday (congratulations @Steamtyme for winning Cool ), but will join the next tournament and hopefully all other upcoming ones. I am fine with playing at Sportsbet, SwC or whereever else we will meet at the tables in the future.

So now we have had two tournaments and I didnt play in either...  Roll Eyes Cheesy
How hilarious to think it was for the one that wants this tourney to happen, life as we know it is always unexpected. The tourney on SwC was smooth and everything is fine, all credits to figmentofmyass. We can still have a third tourney and I do hope it can be adjusted earlier as it was really not a fine time for an Asian participant.

Well its poker, its life, I always say that. I don't know how many times I lost with strong cards (including AA, KK..) against 2 and 6 (believe it or not Smiley, I wonder with what thinking someone made a call). With strong cards we need to be extra careful, I don't know where I heard or read that you become a better player when you are able to fold those strong cards and sacrifice win just to keep a position.
I wish that happens when I have to go all-in with K9 against Steamtyme's AA on the tourney and now I think I'll remember it and call it an experience, you also need to fight against bluffers.  Grin

I must say that I am enjoying SwC these days, I play free roll tournaments and learning about poker games I didn't play before Courchevel, Badugi, Badacey and more. I didn't have opportunity to play these variations of poker before, it's interesting for me, maybe we can try some of them once.
if it's this hard to get people to join a NLHE tournament, imagine how hard a badugi tournament would be! Cheesy

You are totally right about that! But we are a little group, if we start playing regularly maybe we can agree to try it once. Yesterday I won FL Razz tournament, free roll of course! New perspective, different approach is what makes it interesting, among other things.

Good game! Steamtyme congratulations on the win, it means that you are buying beer next week! Smiley
Lol, Yeah I got lucky there. It was funny as I paid for all this luck later on in a very long tournament Sunday, played 7 hours and made 1$, losing to 4 7 off suit with AK.

Regarding the platform for future tournaments I really enjoyed SWC so I would vote to keep playing here. It didn't hurt they hosted this for no cost which is damn decent of them.
+1. i thought so too. better software than sportsbet. i'll go wherever people are more likely to play though.
Yeah if the interest keeps up I'm sure most people will migrate over to SWC, even if it's just for the tournaments. 6 was fun but it would be nice to get 2 or 3 tables going.

Hey guys,
I "suffered" a temp ban and looks like I missed a lot! I am back and learned a lesson. Wink~snip~
Personally I am cool with having tournaments here and there and I will edit the title now. So now we have had two tournaments and I didnt play in either...  Roll Eyes Cheesy
Welcome back. Hopefully you make the next one, should have PM'd you maybe, then you would have seen it in your email. Forum bans have no power in the poker tournament world  Tongue

I'm done transitioning jobs so I finally get days off again. Though this new one I'm positive I won't be able to sit there for 2 hours playing a tournament lol. I'll keep an eye out for dates people are thinking about the next one and hopefully I'm off.

Thank you! It's on my SwCPoker balance already!

Because of the current title it took me some time to decide on where to wright about the last tournament, here or in the SwC Poker official thread. Smiley

What nearly killed me was my pocket J's against Betwrong after I won with AA. I couldn't have turned and rivered worse cards, I didn't think they called my s-bet with an 8, maybe QQ or better but wasn't sure.
