i'll post the password in here tomorrow morning UTC.

I will play this tournament. Waiting for password figmentofmyass.

sent.

You can think of it as kind of socialzing in times of social distancing due to Corona Grin

+1, with everything getting postponed or closed it looks like my weekends have been freed up for the next few weeks. Tongue

Stay safe as always but don't forget to join the fun at SwC tomorrow with the amazing players. I don't think we can be 6 players the same as before I am guessing @Steamtyme will join the fun and @johhnyUA too. This is a "We Want You" bump.

also expecting @Improved, @BTCLiz, @efialtis.....and hopefully @buwaytress and some other randoms.

18 hours until game time. i guess i'll drop an invite in the wall observer thread.

Just wondering, is it okay to enter with multiple account? Might worth a shot for some people to go with multiple account instead of one

This is a private fun tournament and though some money is involved, this is not supposed to be an event to just look for your own financial benefits. You can think of it as kind of socialzing in times of social distancing due to Corona Grin So you can judge for yourself, if it's appropriate to join with multiple accounts Wink

I will play this tournament. Waiting for password figmentofmyass.

Password will get posted in here tomorrow, if you don't get the password sent via PM by then.

Nah no worry Im just asking and curious about it, not planning to do that though

It's actually against SwC policy to play in multiple accounts I believe. If you are caught you risk losing all the funds in both(or more accounts) and having all accounts banned.

Multiple players in the same home are welcome to play at SwC Poker, but not at the same cash tables, tournaments, or sit & gos. This is from their house rules.

Meh, thanks for pointing that out bro

I stand with Ukraine.
2 days 18 hours until the tourney starts. get in the game! 0.001 BTC buy-in, post here or PM for the password!

I propose to raise the buy-in to 0.0025 BTC next time.

What do you guys think about this?

with the BTC price crash, our $10 buy-in has now dropped to $5.75! Tongue

i'm open, if that's what others want. let's gather some more opinions though. we have plenty of time before the next game gets set up. +1 johhnyUA, i'm just here to have fun. i don't need a huge prize pool either.

Neither do I interested in a big prize pool. And I didn't mean to encourage anyone to play higher stakes, sorry if it looked that way.

I play poker for fun, not only this time, but always. I myself rarely buy tickets worth more than $3, and after playing hundreds of games on SwC Poker my Krill Wave is still "Baby Seal" there. Smiley

Yeah, maybe by renaming it to “Quarantine Poker Tournament” we could draw more attention to it. Smiley

Let me try to play for first time, but  for honest i doubt that i will play with such amounts. I'm here not to make money, just to spend some time with fun. The same with many other here i think.

I'm not sure. This might be too much for some players, but a try would be good. Then we'll see if there are more or less people in the game.  Smiley

By the way, I just got registered for this Sunday's tourney and we now got a total of 6 players but hoping we can get more since there are still 3 more days to go before we roll.

I propose to raise the buy-in to 0.0025 BTC next time.

What do you guys think about this?
I am good with it and we'll see if this will really attract more players, we'll never get a result unless we try. Good suggestion by yahoo62278.

I stand with Ukraine.
After reading all the comments on this thread and another one dedicated to the previous tournaments, I have a feeling that all of us would agree on 0.0025 buy-in.

We are wondering why do we have so few participants each time, but maybe yahoo62278 is right in saying that good poker players can be discouraged by too small prize pool.

I propose to raise the buy-in to 0.0025 BTC next time.

What do you guys think about this?

I'm pretty sure I am in. I will register that day, if I can't make it in my registration fee will be sent as a bonus. I'm doing this so I don't put dead chips on the table. Probably 75/25 between first and second.

If I can play that also means I'll be at home and able to screencapture the tournament which could make for some fun later on.

@yahoo you're not wrong but the nice thing is this brings in players if all skill level. It can make it hard to play good poker but I've also seen I believe betwrong have strong consistent showings playing solid poker.

I'd love to see us with something like 20+ players for a good time. This also reminds me I've been meaning to check out some of their other tournaments just for something new; wouldn't hurt to be able to chat as well.

EDIT:
In order to increase the attention, I made a post in the german local board -> Bitcointalk Privates Poker Turnier Nr. 3 am 15. März 2020

good stuff, thanks!

I thought it was originally announced that there was a .001 buyin? Maybe I just seen the .001 donation to the pool idk.

If the OP wants to send me the password I may play but I'd be more interested in a .005 buyin game or .0025 just to give the winner or winners some cash.

it is a 0.001 BTC buy-in. with 5 players, the prize pool stands at 0.005 BTC. (+ the 0.001 BTC i'm paying the winner)

i wish we could run a GTD tourney but we're just a few people running a friendly game. buwaytress may be adding 0.0025 BTC to the pool too, waiting for confirmation on that.

I would be fine with a higher buy-in, but to attract more players, I think it is fine for now. Maybe there could be some high-roller tournaments in the future Wink

I guess for most people, including me, it's not about making profits, but more the fun aspect to play some poker with users from this forum.

same. i'm open to higher buy-ins but the consensus was that small stakes would attract the most players.

8$ prize pool is not enticing anyone.

0.001 is the buy-in, so the price pool is of course bigger. The more people register, the bigger the price pool.

The buy-in was chosen and agreed upon, to give everyone a chance of participating without having to spend a fortune. I would be fine with a higher buy-in, but to attract more players, I think it is fine for now. Maybe there could be some high-roller tournaments in the future Wink

Yea I see that the buyin is .001 0 entry fee. Confused me for a sec.

Having fun is ok but with very little money on the line I dont think people play good poker. Just donkey and pray.

3 players have registered so far, and the tournament limit is 1,000. Smiley

How many of 120k bitcointalk active users love to play poker? My guess is 1k at least. So, what we need is spreading the word. More than 5 days left until the start. C'mon, guys, we can do it! Let's make it 30+ this time.
There are likely many who play poker but noone really wants to play a small private game for barely any money. 8$ prize pool is not enticing anyone.

FYI you need earn at least 1 krill (SwC's rakeback program, see here) before you're allowed to chat at the tables.
Oh, I don't have any krill there yet. So if I don't say anything in the chat, don't be surprised.  Cool

I also registered a few minutes ago. Now we are 4 players.  Wink
