Is it possible to edit one's username and email used during registration?
Don’t you mean after registering?

During: Yes, you can choose your username (providing it is not already taken) and add your email.
After: No, you may not edit your username(*), but you can change your email.

There are very few exceptions to this, such as becoming a VIP (and cashing our 50 BTCs in the event).

I think all the members have already mentioned every step but if someone is very new to this forum without sign in they can go through all board and after they are confident and have some knowledge about crypto and after that, they can join the forum.

Bump for newbies  Wink
I think you have to update OP before bumping it, because now I see "bitcointalk.org image proxy" error in place of images. Visuals is important part of your guide.

Because they are disabled for everybody. They were disabled at some point at the end of 2018 (see User stats are disabled? or unable to understand the stats), due to a DDoS attack, that led to @theymos disabling them.

I haven’t found the reason why they were kept disabled thereon (whether the reason is due to a vulnerability, or they were left disabled due to performance).

They used to look like this:

It’s not really an error. @hugeblack has indicated to you that the statistics on the profile were disabled deliberately, and have not been available for some years.

If you are curious as to what they displayed, it was something like this:

Generally, it might be better and more helpful, if the thread moves to Beginners & help. I do agree that your thread belongs to forum issues, that Meta board created for, but B & H board will help the thread become more helpful, especially with newbies. You should consider about it.

This one is incorrect. The forum does store your IP logs, but it does not publicly gives you data of your IP logs. It is for safety, I guess. I case your account hacked, hackers will only have data on your IP logs within last 30 days, which will play as barrier because hackers do not know your past IP logs, longer than one month. Then, if you are real owner of hacked account, you can provide your past IP logs (longer than 30 days), and other evidence to recover your accounts.
If you notice, you will see this one in your profile page, in Account Related Settings:
Quote
Limit IP retention:
Reduce the retention of your future logged IP addresses. This will make it far more difficult to recover your account if it is ever stolen; make sure that your email address is correct and that you have staked a public key.
Moved

You can check your IP Logs here: https://bitcointalk.org/myips.php  (off course only when you online).

You need to modify the images so that they appear to all, do not paste the image link but the extension.
Use this:
Code:
paste this URL ----> https://i.imgur.com/P2eGjlS.png
not this ----> https://imgur.com/P2eGjlS

                - Limit IP retention: This will put limits on future login and users can check last logged in IP address details here https://bitcointalk.org/myips.php
Thank you, although I visit this link hundreds of times, I didn’t notice this setup, does the forum keep IPs for more than a month?

Thanks will change image links.

No forum does not keep IP for more than a 30 days.
You can read about that here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.51367859

I am still not sure where I should post. I think this is the best section for all types of members newbie to legendary.

This is more suited for beginners and help board.
You also said it yourself.
Definitely this guide is for Newbies who don't know how to edit their profile.

I just added your content on OP. Hope you don't mind at all.  Wink
You are welcome, but you have to leave a source of my post, or use quote block. I suggest you to use quote block to avoid plagiarism, and you have to edit your OP as fast as possible to avoid risk of permanent ban due to plagiarism. In my opinion, it should be the best if you use quote block. I saw you deleted that part in the OP, but if you really want to add that content, posting it inside quote block is fine. You don't violate forum rule by using quote block.

Why did you move this thread from Beginners & Help to Meta?
Isn't it more suitable if posted there...?

                - Email: Users can choose if they want to show their email address to anyone or not.  If ticked then no one can see your email address. Reasons behind hiding email addresses is to protect your account better. It can be called as preliminary protection for user accounts. There are so many attackers, whom will find email addresses and send phishing links to email addresses. When they find you, you will be under risks of phishing attacks.
I recommend you to emphasize one point on register email address. Users should choose "Hide email address from public?". Reasons behind hiding email addresses is to protect your account better.
