OP, the command is /setMerit XXX, you would have known that if you read the topic I linked you.

Yes, you didn't need to create a thread to say telegram bots giving "fake count on merits" means trading bots are bad, specially since I already wrote around 10 posts talking about this issue. Read more, write less.

Thank you for your feedback, like I said in just few post above that I have already entered the command given.
Btw, this doesn't come to my noticed that i would have just sent my report to the official thread. Just as i said above I can only be sure is fixed after I might got merited to know if it doesn't give different values again. The command has been entered as instructed above..

Worse still, he had to create a full topic in Meta about it as though the issue was about bitcointalk forum instead of just getting it on the Notification bot's official thread. Had OP read through the past few pages of the official thread, this topic wouldn't have been necessary.

Like I said is my bad, so the solution is already provided here and if I knew I wouldn't have created this again, so please don't be mad at me.
I think I have to lock this thread for now then I will continue with the main thread if there are any further issues, however I can't say is perfectly working because I never received merits to know if is fine.

Oh, for heaven's sake! So you have never even used any of the trading bots, but you've got this hunch that this Bitcointalk notification bot might be connected to them somehow?
Who knows? Maybe he meant merit trading bots  Grin

I can't believe Sinbad paid $1.5 for this post. How are you even in a signature campaign with such a low effort rambling like this?

Don't worry, no need to apologize he'll understand and everybody gets nervous when such a thing happens, is just a new experience and if I may say something about this. I think you just have to get rid of the bot if possible. Just have to be careful over there, I mean on telegram.
I don't know but don't you think it may affect your account in any way without you doing anything if you're not cool with it?

Lol, what?

What does this bot have to do with trading?
Maybe check its official topic?
Maybe even read it, since people have been mentioning the duplicated merit notifications for weeks?
Why is this even a topic?
EVERY software can have bugs, this is not exclusive to "telegram bots".

Hey TryNinja please do not be mad at me, it's my first experience so I am very sorry if this topic offends you maybe I could have just reported it to official thread is it what you wants?

It was just a simple example I sets maybe trading bot might not be as same as this one, but who knows I have never used a trading bot before so only those who had used it could be able to give a full expression towards having facing same issues.

Oh, for heaven's sake! So you have never even used any of the trading bots, but you've got this hunch that this Bitcointalk notification bot might be connected to them somehow? Well, isn't that cute! You know what they say about meddling with things you don't understand, right?

How about you stop installing scripts and running bots you know nothing about? Otherwise, you might be back here tomorrow, crying about how your MetaMask wallet got "hacked" because, oops, you accidentally clicked where you shouldn't have and approved something you absolutely shouldn't have. Let us avoid that, shall we?

I never said they are connected but saying if bot could function like this then what more of those using trading bots as well, what could be their experience if their trading bots got technical issues meaning they could lose their funds as well.
Then talking about Metamask, Hey I am very careful about wallets and the rest.. You know I don't joke with my money so I won't click on any link that could lead to hack or compromise of my wallets, besides I don't install unnecessary things in my system and my Phone, after reading about security warning over here I wouldn't wait for me to fall victim before I could learn from people's mistakes.

for you
Code:
/set merit 508

I have just tried that but the bot seems not to respond to my input command, I tried it twice maybe I have to wait for a generous person to merits me to see if that error got corrected or not. Btw any of you could merits me to see if the error is corrected after..

This is to show that those that are using bot for trading are into big risk because one day they might fall into trouble of their bot having a technical issues causing it to malfunction and this could lead for a total damage and lost for the trader.
It seems you're right, you should immediately stop using bots even if they only have minor, insignificant bugs and aren't even able to change anything on the account its running. That could cost millions of dollars, and developers need to be held accountable.
I like your expression when reviewing this, haha...

This am seeing is surprising me because even today someone merit me and it gives me exact figure, as I saw this thread I even went back to check my mine again to see whether mine is also misbehaving but my result is OK. I assume it can be an error from the bot, let just say the mistake is from the bot, we should not say bot is bot not human but it's human being that makes the bot, so mistakes can come also from the bot too.

I think there was a glitch a few days ago, which I noticed on the 27th of this month, where a previous merit notification I received from someone on a particular thread had the same amount of merit. The notification was repeated the next day, adding an additional number to my merit count, but when I checked my profile, that merit did not reflect, and when I clicked on the link, it took me to the old merit that I received.

That was the only time I noticed this, and after this exact error occurred, I have not seen anyone of such again. But this one error has affected the whole merit counting because that one that happened has been recorded on the system, and the system has your total number of merits counted, so when you receive a new merit, it will immediately be counted upon from the previous number, which was the last record on the bot.

I think this post is best to be reported under the btt bot thread and not meta, as it has nothing directly to do with the forum in particular.

I guess it might be an error which is common which most telegram bots. But this is nothing to worry about. I only noticed that I couldn't receive some notifications today on my telegram bot. But maybe it was a cause of bad network. As regards your issue, I would advice you to reset or rather delete your bot and add it up again as a fresh start. This might help solve your issue.

This bot was developed by TryNinja and here is the official post regarding this bot. This bot is not forum made and can be called community developed bot so it will be better to inform the creator of this bot. I am not sure if he is still developing this bot or not but he is the one who will be able to fix the bot. I think this is a minor issue with the telegram API. It seems the total merit number is different on the bot from the forum numbers. 576merits on bot and 575merits on Forum.

Good evening all
I don't know how you people are feeling for me to report this here or it does not reach up to the level of making this thread but some how it has been fake results or do I call it fake counts on merits records.
For some days or weeks now I have been seeing merits notification on the bots giving me inaccurate scores, for instance my merits profile is 508 but the telegram notification bot is giving me 509 this made me started wondering if actually my merits got missing but when I looked at my bitcointalk profile I noticed it was common error from the bot.

This is to show that those that are using bot for trading are into big risk because one day they might fall into trouble of their bot having a technical issues causing it to malfunction and this could lead for a total damage and lost for the trader.
For beginners I will encourage you do not rely on bot for trading because this shows me as a lessen not to put hope on a bot for trading or for anything else as they might malfunction at any time causing a huge lost whereby you would lived to regret it.

Please is there any thing I could do to reflect to my current merits count now, currently now I am having 508 on my profile and I would like the next toping of my merits to corelate with the current instead of giving me higher figure than my current merit counts.

The image below shows what I meant

Thank you all.
Please do not be mad at me for creating this topic.
