you can generate legacy addresses that start with '1' by opening the bitcoin.conf file and adding the following line:

addresstype=legacy

Now restart the Bitcoin-qt executable. Now all new receive addresses will start with a '1'

You can open the bitcoin.conf file by going to  "settings"->"Options" and click on "Open Configuration File"

you said that you relaunched the coin for the reason that some haxxor found a glitch. that you combine it with some capital increase, aka Premine  Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink
you plan so well, i had expect that you have more accurate infos on these few million here or there,  .or about distribution.

very accurate metrics can be found in the blockchain.

Please delist BTCV from your exchange; you are confusing your customers and making them very angry. All other exchanges understand the situation, have been provided a swap, and are using the latest BitcoinV release.

yes, many have been mined early. About 1.5 million were used for swapping. Another million are being used for listing on Finexbox and a soon to be announced exchange and future exchanges. Spreading BTCV to more exchanges is one way BTCV will continue to grow for the community.
If BitcoinV did not mine enough in the beginning, there was no other way to provide a swap.

Its funny the whole chain was restarted due a "hacker" or 51% attack or whatever, no proof of what happened since all evidence are deleted Cry

A years worth of mining gone by a centralized action.
No github history, and developer "nullfunctor" account also reset with no history.

https://github.com/bitcoinVBR/bitcoinV/issues/1
Where is the git history? What is changed in code? How did the attack happen? #1

yes, that link has good info on what happened. The code has been updated to prevent such an attack again. The code can easily be diffed again the latest Bitcoin release to find the differences; no smoke and mirrors here.There are still old nodes out there running out in the wild with the "proof" of what happened. The VBR feature can only be enabled once the network difficulty reaches at least 16 Billion now. This means that there is a healthy amount of mining and the ability of miners to try and mine for the large block payout; not get the large block payout every block like the attacker was able to do with the old code. All exchanges and pools and individuals have had there coin swapped. This version of BitcoinV is ready to stand the test of time now.

is BTCV a fork of bitcoin ?

BitcoinV (BTCV) is always BTC with the Variable Block Rewards (VBR) feature added. VBR feature is merged into the latest BTC code at various BTC release intervals.

I just started to read about this coin and have one question, what stops someone from setting his reward multiplier really really low to make sure he has a extreme amount of chance to be the winner and so is able to mess with the blockchain?
The lowest multiplier is x1. This is the same as BTC. You can't set the multiplier to a multiplier less than 1, thus you can't mess with the block chain. The difficulty of finding a block is the same or harder than BTC code.

The first mined block #1 was a few months ago in November.

Even if you are referring to the original BTCV, yes one year is still young. BTW, the community is happy to have mining pools like yours stick around for about a year and through the hard fork from a few months ago.

BitcoinV has been attacked by what I am coining as "Greedy Attack".

A "Greedy Attack" is when the attacker tries to mine as much coin as possible before giving up. This is actually quite healthy for a blockchain, especially a new and young one like BTCV.

Hello. I have mined this coin from the beginning and I couldn't realize how much you were swindlers, I have more than 33,000 coins in my wallet, and you cleaned the wallet to zero, after being stolen by you, I went mining with my m3 antminers and I noticed that in 1 hour I caught more than 200 blocks but in the pool everything was zeros until the next morning. after all I was mining to fill the ass who Huh I only feel sorry for not being from my country because I am sure that they did not deceive anyone else ... this coin will die with your greed ...

Hello, miners like yourself who missed the Graviex swap should send an email to

[email protected]

Give your address(s) that had old BTCV and prove that your are the owner by signing a message with the BTCV address(s) that has old blockchain funds. A swap will be given to you at 10000:1,

I do not like your false language of 'stolen'. Your old BTCV is still on the blockchain, nobody took it. The updated BTCV was for the good of the entire community.

Does anyone know how the variable block reward is used? In the solo mining?

To use VBR, just modify the bitcoin.conf file:

#--------------bitcoin.conf-----------------
rpcport=9332
rpcuser=someuser
rpcpassword=somepass
listen=1
server=1
setvbrmultiplier=2
#---------------------------------

VBR needs to be a power of 2,     1,2,4,8,16
16 is the max value, right now since there hasn't been halving yet, the reward is 50 x 16 = 800 BTCV

Remember to restart the wallet or daemon for the VBR to go into effect.

The above applies to SOLO miners as well as pools.  Pools could setup different ports that correspond to the different VBR values.

I put that in the configuration file but it doesn't work. Do I have to do it in a special pool? What username and password are they?

Are you mining to your wallet or are you mining to someone's pool? If you are mining to someones pool, they control the VBR, not you. Since all pools are using x1, You need to SOLO mine to get higher rewards. You can follow these directions to SOLO mine on Ubuntu: https://github.com/bitcoinVBR/node-stratum-pool

Hello everyone, I have 780,000k bitcoinv, for 3 weeks the wallet does not connect ... and shows balance 0, what can be done? have they tricked us? my english is bad sorry ...

They changed the core version, we cannot get our previous coins, it started back from 0

But that is a fraud, we have to return the coins, nobody will trust that mob again

I know Sad... That's crypto world my friend Sad

That is not so ... they have left 0 wallets and that is a scam, the police will investigate, and if they do not want to end up in jail, they would have to integrate the old coins.

BTCV is an honest project. Your old BTCV has not been taken by anyone. Your old BTCV is still on the old blockchain; you can get them if you want and if you know how. Forget them and move forward with the masses to the new BTCV. The new BTCV has solved the VBR block reward problem. Just look at the mining hashrate now, the community is very happy with the new BTCV.

For you to come out of nowhere (you created your account here at Bitcointalk 20 minutes before you made the post about the addnodes) and know everything about this coin and come to its defense  is strange....

Either you are an idiot or you are fucking liar.  How long have you been involved with BTCV, just since this morning?   RUFKM???!!!!!

Are you the Developer trying to hide?

Or are you the user Jay that hasn't posted for a while who is a condescending prick to those of us who got ripped off (you did provide the same answer as he did about the old coin being on the blockchain)?

Why did you know so much about this coin?  Your knowledge does not match the experience you have...I am starting think that you, and Jay and the developer are all the same person.  If you are not, then you should take your nose out of the developers ass and listen to the community.

This is BS.

I have helped the developer since March. NullFunctor just wants to focus on the the technical aspects of the coin. I help him merge code and test as well. I haven't checked Bitcoin talk forum in a while, I didn't think people really post here anymore.

I think you should open you ears and look around, the community has taken a liking to BTCV. They are very happy with the new BTCV. The old BTCV was ready to fall into a black hole. The creator saved the project by fixing the VBR math, you should thank him for this. You should also thank him for making the new BTCV worth much more than the old BTCV.

You should also thank him for swapping out 1 BILLION coins on Graviex.
