Great! Out of curiosity did blockchain.info give you any kind of warning about the tx fee being too small when you tried broadcasting it? If not then there was probably some issue with their node.

No warning about tx fee. I did have to broadcast the tx using https://blockchain.info/pushtx

I was having some issues with Armory the past few days so I had to use that to help push transactions through since my client wasn't doing it on it's own. It's better now though, had to downgrade my bitcoin core to 11.0 from 11.1.

If you only used their pushtx page then they probably wouldn't have warned you about the tx fee. Before I rebroadcast the tx I created a watch-only wallet on blockchain.info with my address that I was receiving the transaction to and it said that the network propagation was 0 nodes, so maybe for some reason their node did not send it to other nodes.

If you are using armory then you can use the "bitcoin-cli sendrawtransaction" feature on bitcoin core (the command line) or on bitcoind, depending on which you use to push a transaction.

6 hours later and still unconfirmed, that's odd.

Not really sure what's going on, all I can say is wait and see what happens because the tx didn't get rejected or anything.

I even bumped up the tx fee to 0.0005 to hopefully help prioritize it so it confirms faster.

You just need to wait till the transaction is confirmed on blockchain, so you do not need to worry. Maybe there is a problem on blockchain network that make the confirmation take longer time. There are still more than 10k unconfirmed transaction, so be patient.
