If I remember correctly, I was reading few articles on Bitcoinwiki.org year or more ago and this topic reminded me about this website. It's great to see it's still running. Basic and more detailed information can be found here, but woud be great to see more articles added eventually. And offcourse, it would be good to see information in more languages Smiley

Yeah, we are running since 2014 but were too busy on other project last year. It feels like we are starting from the beginning =) Finding new qualified members is the tough part.. Smiley Yesterday we ended up with an idea how to find some funding for contributors, hope it would work out!

It needs more improving. It's more basic than basic. It doesn't attract readers.

Hi! Thank you for participating! Can you please specify what kind of article you expected to find in the good wiki? We will try our best to fill the gaps!

So I want to ask the bitcointalk community what kind of articles you would like to receive?  Maybe topics you are interested in but that are not discussed much in the internet?

You should follow the purpose of this CMS, since you are using a Wiki, make it as it should be. If you are going to write an article "how to make your ico step by step guide" etc, then better for your business to make it as a blog, using WordPress or whatever.
It fits better for a blog than a wiki. As a wiki reader, it's not something I am looking for. I hope you see my point. =)

I understand what you are talking about, but the major format of our articles is wiki though. We are just thinking how to make it more interesting and useable. And we are still looking for the character to differ from all over resources.

I'll send you a link for feedback when we will finish =)
Sure, I will be waiting for.  Smiley

Good wiki, it has got the basic information, anyone new to bitcoin cab learn a lot about it by skimming through it. It's a growing wiki I hope, as it still lacks a lot of information other than the basics. Anyways good luck.

Thank you! Yeah, we are trying to find new skilled members to our community to make more deep content.. If you know somebody who would be interested to help or advice us, it would be great!

You might want to add a link directly to your site in the OP so that people who come here don't have to type it out in order to visit it. Regardless, I just checked the site and it looks quite fine. My question to you is, how does this differ from other similar wiki sites related to Bitcoin that are more popular such as, say, bitcoin.it? It seems to me that there isn't much more information that would differ between the sites as most all of it is just the normal Bitcoin facts. I assume you plan to cover cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin as well? I do appreciate the ICO point, however.

That’s a good question =) The thing is that from the beginning we were focusing on the local language communities plus we wanted to illuminate all the other cryptocurrencies. As you mentioned, we are keeping an eye on ICOs. For example, now we are working on a big article "How to make your ICO: the step-by-step guide".

I think during the next couple of months we will clarify our positioning due to the audience’s response =) but of course under any circumstances the main vector is going to be on cryptocurrency and security topics in a format close to the wiki.

So I want to ask the bitcointalk community what kind of articles you would like to receive?  Maybe topics you are interested in but that are not discussed much in the internet?

Sounds great to me. My only real concern about the wiki is that it would target the same audience that previous wikis have targeted, an area which is majorly saturated already. I am glad to know that this is not the case. It might be confusing that the site itself is under the domain of bitcoinwiki.org which might give anyone eyeing the link the idea that the site is only about Bitcoin while it is about crypto technology as well, but this is simply a minor concern that should not affect any functionality in it. It could be confusing to some, however. Perhaps have another domain as well which could forward to that one? (Albeit that might be even more confusing, so I am not really sure how to go about it properly)

My point is that bitcoin in our days personifies a lot more than just the cryptocurrency and I think in future it is going to be more and more iconic.
And as you can see now the bitcoin articles constitute the main part of the wiki.

Talking about the audience, in my point of view, people are just looking for the answers on their questions in the web. Until they can find them it doesn't matter what is the name of the web site =) I will vote for the content first =)

Honestly the website looks good, all the articles are well positioned and there are no adds. I am wondering about the quality of the articles. Do you search and wrote it yourself?
You should add a feature for people to add pages in their language. It may seem ridiculous because someone can post everything but if something is wrong other people will report it or modify themselves the errors

Thank you! Cryptocurrency is our passion, so we tried our best for the community.

The wiki is almost 4 years old, the beginning articles were written by our friends but most of it comes from our community members. We are trying to monitor the quality of the articles, so I hope they are on a good level.

But, honesty, we were busy on other projects for the last 2 years, so some articles need to be updated according to the current state of affairs. We are looking for new members =)

Well, anybody can fill out the registration form on the site and get editing rights.

Maybe I don't understand you correctly, but you can edit the wiki in 13 languages, just choose yours on the main page or edit the subdomane LANG.bitcoinwiki.org where LANG is one from the list (LANG = en, ru, cs, de, es, fi, fr, hi, it, ko, pl, pt, zh).

Yeah, we were thinking about hindi! If you know somebody who would like to join us to try to improve languages like hindi, chinese, korean and others, we would be very thankful=)

Is anybody allowed to make changes/write pages? Or do we need to ask for any special permission. I see that there are a lot of pages that doesn't exist in Portuguese, so I may be able to take some time to contribute Smiley

edit: I just requested an account. Let's see!

Checked your site. Your site is really good. You have added all the information that a newbie wants to know about bitcoins. Hope you will maintain this site very well. If possible, try to add a page in hindi also. Because nowadays bitcoin is getting very popular in India and the people search in internet or wiki to know more about this. So if you add a page in hindi, it will be very useful for them.
