Those are dual FPGA boards from their last series and she's not making them, she's from BFL's quality control department.  She's actually checking them over and checking for functionality.

I find it sad that you would characterize this woman as a 'little old lady'.
I've worked on electronic assembly lines - and people of all ages do it. Mostly it's relatively unskilled work.. just requires attention to detail and some dexterity.

When I worked in an electronics factory, we wore antistatic overcoats and had an antistatic wristband which connected to grounding points on the desks - but perhaps that is particularly cautious.
Static damage to chips seems to be pretty rare - ICs are fairly tough nowdays.

As has already been pointed out - yeah, that pic is from 'back' in the FPGA era.

Well, better little old ladies than little 8 year old kids (Apple, I'm looking at you).

Let's go T.P. Foxconn together?

Dude, she has probably been putting together computer components since before you were born. Her age hardly matters as much as you make it out to be. She doesn't look like she is 1000 or something.

And yeah, I would rather have these things made by adults making a real wage rather than over seas by kids making nothing at all. Sounds good to me.

I don't know if this is an older picture though, nor do I care.

Very interesting reading I come across a little old lady making the Jalapeno's. Now if shes making them how much are they really costing the company to make? If she can do it am sure others could simply make them too. The other thing that worries me too is that if people of her age no disrespect to her or anyone of that age but mistakes can be made and would they really be up to the mining challenge..
