Thanks for the support, guys, I really appreciate it! I'm still waiting for parts for various lasers including two blue ones. But remember, I still got a sweet red and violet one in stock, no love for them? Smiley

I should get a news module or something installed so I can easily show the status on incoming items on the store.

We are bees, and we hate you.
I really feel that Grix's laser shop fills a very lucrative niche in the bitcoin marketplace. Having lurked in this thread, I am almost jealous that I didn't come up with it first. (Not that I could have even done it with my skill-set...)

Business inquiries aside, I'd just like to say that I want to see this shop fly. Smiley
And help bump the shit out of this thread so people see it...

I see you added listings for currently out of stock items. Now I can drool over what I want until you have it back in! Grin

I really like the blue one. Hope you get more in soon!

It's not a secret that lasers like these are regulated in some countries. The buyer has the responsibility to check their local laws, if they order to a country where it's illegal, that's their risk.

That being said, I don't ship from a country known to export lasers, I mark the lasers as flashlights, they look like flashlights (and technically lasers are a kind of flashlight, portable light source), and I offer to ship the tailcap and batteries in a separate package to prevent customs from testing it if they actually do inspect the package. So if someone does order a product despite the legal status in their particular country, the chances of customs busting the package are very slim. And even if they DO bust the package, I'm pretty sure that person won't get in any legal trouble, they'd just return the package to sender. At least that's what my country does to gray-area items.

Yeah the powerful stuff does need a keyswitch as per the FDA. That's probably why it got confiscated.

I’m in the USA and my mommy government doesn’t want me to be in control of my life (they’re illegal). Can you ship the laser in multiple parts in different packages so customs will pass it through? If yes, how much extra does it cost? I’ve already had one Dragon Laser confiscated by customs during shipping and it kind of sucks losing that much money.

I don't think lasers are illegal, are they? They just can't be sold as laser pointers if they're above a certain wattage (that these ones certainly are), and need to have suitable labeling on them.

At least, that was my understanding of the situation.

This power is illegal where I'm from but they may not be illegal in your country.

I'm talking about the US. Do specific states have more stringent laser laws? "Gotta legislate against those laser-toting muslims trying to impose Sharia law on the rest of us!" Roll Eyes

There's limits related to what can be sold as a laser pointer. There's no limits that I know of in Canada or the US as to what maximum power can be sold as a laser. If you have cash in hand, Dilas or Trumpf will be more than happy to sell you a 10kW laser.

Really? What state are you from?

And "illegal" as in you need a license, or what?

State does not equal country, not even in America
No shit, but I know that both CornedBeefHash and copumpkin are from the USA. And these lasers are certainly not illegal to own in several states.

In Australia apparently they are also illegal :/

How about these: http://www.amazing1.com/lasers.htm

I love that site, it has all the plans available for purchase, and it's good info. If you are into glassblowing, you could create your own glass-tube carbon dioxide laser that has an invisible beam. It also burns through chunks of wood and thin metal.

I've got all the info you need on my site under shipping information:

I mark the item as flashlight, and it does look like a flashlight on x-rays (because it is built inside a flashlight shell). You can also buy batteries separately or elsewhere, then the customs don't have a way to test the laser (I don't think customs keep CR123a batteries handy).. I can ship the tailcap separately as well, but that would of course cost a little more in shipment.

word! I will be ordering soon!
