It is a way for them to make more money, but I think with mining margins so low you take what you can get and this is better for people in the US rather than buying direct from the factory.  Also makes you torn.  If you get the extended warranty do you hope that the gear doesn't break and you just spent the extra money or do you hope for it to break after the initial 90 days so that you can save even more money only having to ship it back domestically rather than internationally. guys instead of playing lawyer look at the deal.

a 12.93th is 1540 and 60 to ship = 1600  ordered from china  must pay in btc or bank check.  it is out of stock.

a 12.93th is 1589 + 25 to ship = 1614 it is in stock tack on 170 for 180 warranty  and you are at 1784 with a 180 day warranty vs a 90 day warranty.

ship to usa from usa plus return ship = 45 -50 and you can insure for full value.

ship to China from China  = 110-140   3 weeks and you must insure for 45 or lower.

The deal is better  is it night and better no  but it is better.

Yes, we are open to valid/legit Paypal dispute, however, item will be sold as NONE-REFUNDABLE in term but if its a legit warranty claim due to the defectiveness of the hardware, we will provide timely repair/replacement/refurbish option.

Warranty or Service plan be based on the LIMITED WARRANTY guideline.  There will be few restrictions as Bitcoin Mining Hardware is a specialty item with very specific operational condition is needed.  such as temperature/humidity/dust and etc..

DOA item, we wlil honor refund as long as customer return it to us and confirmed it is DOA.  (Damages caused by the carrier, please report it to the carrier at the time of the delivery to qualify for refund or immediate replacement.  You have option to refuse delivery if the package is visually damaged to the point you do not feel comfortable dealing with shaking the box, looking for any broken possibility)

This be sold from https://www.bitmainwarranty.com  - Legal Entity is Different from https://www.bitmain.com

Yeah I poked around on the site it looks like I can buy with paypal and use the six-month no payment on interest offer.

That kind of means I need to get one of these.

No money down and a warranty  for six months makes the gear a lot more tempting to buy.

Plus I begged them to allow for multiple warranty options.

3 day doa = no cost
90 day     = $85
180 day   = $170
1 year      = $300

so Six month is about 1789 with shipping included.

no money down with paypal credit

I think the US law specify that the warranty is one year...
No. There is NO Federal laws in the USA stating that any kind of warranty at all has to be offered. Key word there is federal. The only gov legal stance on that is that if a warranty is offered it must be adhered to. Now it would not surprise me if some states like California or Massachusetts might have something about it though.

State laws vary, but I like that I can use paypal credit.  You need a paypal business account since buying an s9 might be called a business not a hobby.

You could take the DOA 3 day option pay the paypal fee of 81 to bitmainwarranty.  The use paypal dispute for the warranty process.  You would have 180 days for 81.

So 1589 + 25 + 81 = 1695  and if your paypal is a business paypal  you can dispute for 6 months.  This is better then  anything I can think of even better then buying the 180 day warranty.

So Phil bitched and moaned for 3 things:

1)pay with paypal                      > They gave it to us
2)pay less without a warranty     > They gave us the 3 day doa
  3) pay more for a long warranty  > They gave us 180 day or 1 year

So why complain if you are in an area that bitmainwarranty.com services this is great.

I been in email contact with Yoshi this morning.  They may shift numbers a bit.
But I will be buying a s9 from him.  Right now as a guy with low cost power  the s9 with a longer warranty makes sense to me.

Lets face facts on this mining BTC is now a Electric power game.  If you are low cost power you stand a shot at earning a profit. If your power cost is more then 9 cents a kwatt it is really hard to make a profit.

At least there is now an option for the longer warranty  or for a shorter warranty. There is also USA to USA shipping which means  no import costs on a large order.  Plus shipping back a bust hash board USA to USA is under 20 bucks in a USPS.com box  vs 110-140 shipping it USA to China.

The paypal option has an extra fee of 5% but you can use paypal credit and get the gear for six months without paying a dime.

So the only company selling worthwhile gear is giving a better deal they they were giving.  Does it mean anyone should get it?  How the fuck should I know?

It does mean I will order one this weekend  basically because Yoshi handled my two dead board well and even though I lost out in shipping and down time it was better then shipping gear to China.

My warranty costs for the two boards were 95 in shipping and  20 days down time.
They would have been  220-280 in shipping and more like 28 days down time.

I will be asking buysolar about adding one more miner  to the array.

The closest thing to US federal law on this is that when paying by credit card all consumers have a 30-day grace period to initiate return of the item.

I thought US law says the have to give you a 1 year warranty on all new stuff

You keep saying that but there is no such law AFAIK.

US law DOES specify that the warranty only begins when the product is recieved, though - I've BEEN through that one once and won.

Clever how they made it difficult to get warranty on the S9, and now they will make even more money offering something which should of been included in the purchase price.

They just keep making more and more money.

Well, when your the ONLY game in town, you can make the rules & the money!!!  Cheesy

Won't be much longer,I'm guessing the S9 & it's variants will be the last miners us whiney "home " miners can buy  Wink

Interesting; you still pay to send the item to them, although it should not be expensive.
BTW, UNDERCLOCKING voids warranty and the same deal about burned parts-not covered for some reason.

I thought US law says the have to give you a 1 year warranty on all new stuff , i guess there way around it is import it Smiley but good to know and you had a lot to do with it. >....

From another hard ware seller of PC parts in the US, this is a PC made to do one thing .

Your warranty will only cover manufacturing defects. It does not cover regular wear and tear, including but not limited to, breakage due to abuse, cosmetic damage, dents and chips, improper usage, water damage, or other causes attributable to events outside the manufacturing process.

US and Asia: 1 year warranty on all products.

EU: 2 year warranty on all products.

All products are covered by local warranty regulations.

NM they don't have to Smiley . :The Warranty Act doesn't require any manufacturer to provide a written warranty, but allows manufacturers to determine whether to warrant their products in writing. Once a manufacturer decides to offer a written warranty on a consumer product, however, it must comply with the Warranty Act.

so prettify much it is the best interest of the manufacturer to offer one if it's free or not, they must honor it. if they do offer a written warranty Smiley. make sure you get it in writing .
