Sorry that I forgot to reply. So you are mostly facing problems because customers don't know what Bitcoin is and how to pay, right?
Mostly. 4/5 orders cancelled due to the fact that people have no clue what they're supposed to do on the site.
I hardly have that problem. Maybe one out of 20 customers fail to pay for their order. And I prefer it's a bit too easy to make an order and not pay for it than to scare legitimate customers away by making it too cumbersome. I don't really care if someone makes an order and then doesn't pay - it doesn't cost me anything, and the order is automatically cancelled by Bitmit after a few days. I could see how it's frustrating if you use the auction format, though.

"Tosaki": Please don't implement the systems TheButterZone and favdesu are suggesting. I fear it would drastically reduce the number of successful orders.

We may implement such a feature but we would make it as optional setting which is not activated by default because I think it would affect the checkout process negatively.

could you add http://bitcoinaverage.com/ this as an exchange option? I'd love to sell my stuff for the total average

Implemented and set as default Smiley

Stop ripping off vendors by manipulating the pricing basis. Whenever the pricing basis is changed all auctions should be cancelled.

Bitcoinaverage while it appears to be everything this board has been asking for... is an unknown
the site was registered less than a month ago...is in "beta"... and you are going to make it the site default?

Its using a weighted average with Mtgox @ ~52%
and Bitstamp @ 36%

guess thats about  right?Huh Though Bitstamp seems over represented..

"Though two years ago Mt. Gox used to handle over 80% of all Bitcoin trade; the Bitcoin Charts show that the company handles 52% of exchange transactions now. On the other hand, Bitstamp handles 18% of Bitcoin exchanges."

I assume you got in touch with these folks and said hello?

Please provide a choice, that sellers can sell goods at a Pre-fixed price.
How much are you going to charge the sellers?

You can select buy now, and make the currency BTC in the dropdown.

Hey guys, why is the price of BTC 92USD when weighted average on MtGox is $102???

EDIT: So you guys changed from Gox to bitstamp?  That is load of crap!!! You're making buyers pay a huge premium.  Difference is almost $10.

I agree completely. At least use an average of the gox and bitstamp quotes!

bitcoinaverage.com for example

I do not sell Bitcoins. I sell SHA256(SHA256()).

there are several problems, at least in my point of view:

- competitors can troll buy your item to get it off of the listing and sell the same item (I'm selling games, so it's quite common)

- I have a blog and a forum thread, and every time I relist an item, I have to modify the item links

- Auto cancellation is set to 8 hours

so I actually lose money and time if an order has to be cancelled

It means you are granting them a free put option on their bitcoin. If you are selling money at something close to fair value then this can cost you something.

Well, both parties can rate each other, so yeah, no big deal. Just down-rate if you feel like somebody is abusing your fair prices. Same problem exists on localbitcoins where people blame others to only do deals if the price moved in their favor.

Thank you!

I think this is the best balance and fairest for both buyers and sellers.

Hehe, we could also let them take a triathlon before they can apply for a 1 out of 500 lottery.
Nah, i believe that btc for the first buy in wallet is an excellent idea.
They will have to pay for it anyway, so why not send it 30min earlier.

Wow, that's quite high. I see there is a need for counter measures.

yeah... how about you let new users only purchase something if they have the amount in their bitmit wallet? I guess that would be the easiest solution

What about a random challenge string, with instructions on how to sign it with a funded key, which then verifies on the blockchain that the user can afford to pay? Quite a bit more difficult, but at least nobody would have to trust BTC to bitmit's wallet, or go the completely opposite direction, bypass bitmit's wallet and escrow completely.
