I wish you a happy new year and want to thank you for the support and feedback you gave us 2012!

bitmit down?
There was a little down time of about 1-2hours because of power maintenance in our network center, I am sorry!

I received an order today (5112). The shipping and billing address was specified without country or name of the recipient. Should this really be allowed? I can tell from the address that the country is USA, but it's not stated anywhere.

The user selected the alternative shipping address format with the help of it he can enter any text. I know there is a need for an option for sellers to accept only the regular address format.

I would also suggest that for the feedback system, the number in parentheses should not just be a total of the feedback left regardless of positive or negative. Right now, someone with 4 positive and 5 negative feedback will show as (9) whereas it should show as (-1) in my opinion.

Quite good idea, I implemented it and extended it a little bit. Now you also see a tiny trend indicator which shows you if the last 5 ratings were mostly positive, negative or neutral (↑ for positive, ↓ for negative and - for neutral)

Other improvements:
- Cookie for currency selection lasts longer
- Browser back button does not loop anymore on item pages
- Inactive items (Canceled, out of stock, expired auctions) are deleted after a time period of 100 days
- Minor bug fixes

Wow, definitely +1 to that!

maybe: "(+4, -5)" or something would be even more informative.

I have some more suggestions:

  • Session timeout could either be longer or result in a clean logout, not failed ajax loads
  • A "ask seller" button on the item pages might be nice. Maybe even enable discussion about items (with seller as moderator)?
  • "allow escrow" on/off switch could be per shipping option (e.g. I would want to be able to allow escrow for tracked letter shipping, but not for standard uninsured letter)

I can't support the complaint that the site is slow, btw. It's sufficiently fast for me. Maybe because I'm in germany, as I assume the site is also.

Am I the only one who thinks that Bitmit is pretty slow? Every page load takes from 1 - 10 seconds, which is quite some time if you have a lot of orders and have to do a large number of page loads.

I messaged you through the feedback system on the site a couple days ago about a completed listings search. Just saw this thread and realized you already had one! Sorry about that.
But still, it seems like I can't search completed listings without actually typing in a term to search for. I'd like to be able to see everything that has sold (even if it's limited to the last 2 weeks or month due to server space) because I'd like to be able to see which types of items are selling well on the site.

Also, I'd like to be able to view my listing that just sold. I can't find anyway to see the details (item description) of the auction that I successfully sold. Again, it doesn't have to last forever if space is a problem, but the longer the better.

Finally, thanks so much for the site. It's my favorite Bitcoin related site and I just got my first sale today!!

Update:
- New default layout for item listings
- Option to set an exact date for item expiration

I will add an option to choose between the two item listing layouts.

tosaki,

please, pretty please Smiley, make current grid view optional, it is very hard on my eyes.

btw, grid view does not work on firefox (win and mac) when viewing recently added and soon ending where the grid for the first page of items is too much to the right and can only be seen partly.

the old "list" view was a LOT better, IMHO.

thanks.

thx for your feedback.

Some questions:
1. What happens with the first payment now? I can see that the payment for the first order is now confirmed, but I can't access it.

I checked it out, the buyer requested a refund and you accepted it. The Bitcoins were transfered back to buyer's wallet right after the transaction had been confirmed.

2. How long into the order process do you allow the buyer to cancel the order?

Buyer's can cancel the order except the order status is set to "received" or they already submitted feedback for the order. But they only get an instant refund when the seller has not viewed the order yet. Otherwise they have to request a automatic escrow refund or ask the support for a refund.

I was a bit confused today. A buyer placed an order, and paid for it, using the escrow option. I saw the payment coming in, but it wasn't confirmed since it hadn't gone so long. After a short while, the buyer changed his mind and canceled the order, to place a new one.
