Damn I was assuming it was just like the game minesweeper (# of bombs touching the square). I was om the right track but stopped because it didn't look like anything recognizable.
Haha I would have never been able to solve this, but awesome puzzle. Wonder how long it took someone once they figured it out to color in all the boxes and then scan it on there phone once they figured it out. Also, wonder how many people were coloring boxes and solved the puzzle only to figure out it had already been solved. 
I thought it was some hidden message. i have been counting the alphabet make addition and everything.. Congratz to the winner
Damnit! I thought about QR code but dismissed it. Did notice the 3 patterns in the corners.
Very nice try though! Smart to do it on your computer, or you would have had trouble scanning it.
Just see some small errors but was also to hard to scan i guess

The solution to the puzzle was a QR code, solving the puzzle works as follows. Each grid of four squares has a number, this number indicates the amount of black squares in that 2x2 grid. You can use this information to color squares black and solve the puzzle.

What the hell is this puzzle?!?! I haven't the faintest idea in how to solve this.
I can't even figure out what to call something like that, even Google Images doesn't know. I'm curious how long it will take for someone to solve this one.
