Bitpay already verify and bitcoinnews also already verify that nothing was happend, Some newbs or some dumpers are spreading such news to make a crach and to dump bitcoins because they know that bitcoin will hit 1500+ by early Feb.
I'd chuckle if Peter were sued by Bitpay over this. Might give people a moment of pause before posting negative rumors.
