Bitpay already verify and bitcoinnews also already verify that nothing was happend, Some newbs or some dumpers are spreading such news to make a crach and to dump bitcoins because they know that bitcoin will hit 1500+ by early Feb.

I'd chuckle if Peter were sued by Bitpay over this.  Might give people a moment of pause before posting negative rumors.

If the rumour was true, Bitpay would not have made an announcement saying that it was false.  A company making such a massive false statement could be held liable for many damages.

Perhaps.

Didn't stop all the false reassurances right through the financial crisis though did it.

More likely than not, these rumours are false, in which case I would have jumped out the pool before I needed to....

....but am I bovvered?

I am no poorer or richer than I was a couple of hours ago.

I really hope you're fucking joking.

No.

I made a $26 profit!

I am happy!

If the rumours are false then i am sure that Bitcoin will still be here tomorrow, $30 +/- what it is today. What is the problem?

I claim your exchange is about to be hacked... I could've just made that up, who knows, but you better buy back those BTC's so you can withdraw your balance before it is stolen. Pennies to lose if I just made that up, all of your BTC to lose if I'm right.

It's not true. Don't fall for it. Someone wants to start a crash.

Jeez.

Never knew about that.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I am just away to offload all my bitcoins. I have penny's to gain by keeping them if it is not true, and thousands to lose if it is true.

Bitpay CEO has 'denied' these reports, apparently.  Shocked

Whatever you do MatTheCat do not sell your Bitcoins now you over-twitchy son of a gun!  Smiley

Already have.

Pennies to gain in short term if rumour is false, thousands to lose in near term if rumour is true.

Even if this rumour turns out to be bullshit plenty people are gonna bite, as I have just proved. If the rumour turns out to be true, well.......  Shocked  Shocked  Shocked

Go and read the recent tweets from the guy who claimed Bitpay was hacked: https://twitter.com/petertwynn

He's an idiot, he has no idea what he is talking about.

Yeah, the guy just seems confused.

I think the guy @petertwynn is panicking about his transaction and just posting frantically without verifying the facts.  Although, considering he posted a bearish article just today, this could also be a ridiculous attempt to cause panic.  If so, I really hope Bitpay fucks him up.
