The launch of Bittrex Global is expected to coincide with the closure of Bittrex International (Malta) operations in late October.

My hunch is this is a fake article. It's laying the grounds for a scam exchange called "Bittrex Global" where gullible signups will be scammed out of their deposits.

If Bittrex were moving from Malta, they wouldn't rebrand and make their whole user base sign up again on a different site.....
Wait I'm confused right now ..
How could you say that the bittrex global is a scam one? I think it's just the matter of rebranding.. moving from a local US exchange into global exchange due how high the interest from users around the world / globally.

They already have separate US-facing and international platforms. It has nothing to do with that.

This isn't just a rebranding either. If it were, they would take their customers and markets with them instead of rebuilding from scratch:

Quote
Bittrex Global has indicated that it plans to offer customers of Bittrex International the opportunity to become Bittrex Global customers.  Bittrex Global is also offering any existing coins/tokens listed on Bittrex International the opportunity to apply for approval to list on Bittrex Global.

Nothing the article says makes any sense at all. Until it's confirmed by official mediums (Bittrex.com, official Twitter accounts, Richie Lai) I would not trust it.
The article stated by OP above isn't fake.

And I think it's officially confirmed now ..

https://medium.com/bittrex/bittrex-international-update-bittrex-global-launch-2f64fca503fd

https://twitter.com/BittrexIntl/status/1186345680266235910?s=09

quite confusing at the first time seeing this situation, especially when you start doubting that there might bittrex zendesk account compromised or there might be a third party who try to impersonate.
Well it is clear and you can sleep well now.

I panicked when I read the OP that biitrex was closed, it was just a misunderstanding. Just want to change the name.
I will support the change of bittrex international into global bittrex, hopefully after changing the name of the servant
to be better. And more tokens / coins are listing globally, as we know bittrex international under SEC control. Bittrex is
ready to follow in the footsteps of bithumb and huobi, both becoming global exchanges. So they can compete with other
large exchanges.

One way or another, all this information will already negatively affect the authority of Bittrex and many users will actively withdraw their funds from this exchange so that it is not too late.  But I would like to see the official statement of the Bittrex team in order to know in reality where the truth is and where the fraudulent information is.
Yes it can hurt the volume of the trades, and right now there is still no official statement which is not good for them. Bittrex is a good exchange before, but it looks like they can’t take the competition anymore. I do hope that they can still continue, and I hope that this news is not true.

Bittrex Exchange continues to operate but they will use a different name. I think Bittrex Global is probably the latest name for them to continue to grow because when this exchange is launched they will be easier to work with and avoid a lot of legal issues. I used to use Bittrex exchange for 2 years ago and until now no problem happened. Although they changed their name but the brand of this exchange is still known by everyone.

I think that people are generally misinterpreting the whole idea of their closing down, and you know the way news use to carry their headlines, it makes it different from what is happening real life and if you had also based your comment on the real article if you open it up and not just the topic, you will find out that they are only closing their international aspect of the business which they are changing to Bittrex global.

Bittrex itself is not closing and I am sure that they will still be able to migrate people to the new Bittrex global of which from the article, they had Even given people the option to do so at their own free will, so why do you think this will start making people to withdraw when it is not that the whole Bittrex that is closing down.

Seems Bittrex International is closing in late Oct:
Does any one know more?
By reading the headline i was wondering why they are closing down their service but they are closing their Malta based operations and changing the name from bittrex international to bittrex global, i do not find many difference as an end user to access the site, if you are an international user it usually redirects to international site, in short they moved out from Malta to Lihtensten.

Does anyone know if there are any Bitrex team mabers on this forum who can give a definitive answer?

https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/richiela-96390

Last active June 08, 2019 .... Unfortunately he rare appears here in this forum and also in Twitter

Check out Richie Lai (@richiela): https://twitter.com/richiela?s=09

I've contacted him through email and through bittrex support too, hopefully they could respond and provide a clarification about this.

@Edenhazard - This would be probably the case if they do tend out to have that Bittrex global.I dont see for it to be some sort of scam or fake ones yet
this had already been done by bithumb. So probably this would be the same scenario with Bittrex now yet they cant afford to lose up the game if they are just
being isolated into a heavily centralized or being restricted to the people who would use up the platform.

I think I just missed these points ...

Are you sure about that? This is the author of that article: https://bittrex.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/profiles/114197312271-Bittrex-Support-Team
However, announcements normally come from this account: https://bittrex.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/profiles/365176575432-Communications-Team
Bittrex also moved their blog from Zendesk to Medium a few months ago: Our blog has moved!

You did notice about that, good catch!

This closing bittrex news is not correct. There has been no tweets no announcement from the official Bittrex site. I just search google and find nothing of this type. If the news was real, we would have seen stories in various online crypto news site, which is not the case here.
We cannot just believe every news is right for the only reason that it is published on the net.

Well, they are closing for another alternative which they probably think it is better for them and from that little article, they are only closing Bittrex international in Malta which I think they have probably been sold to Bittrex global which I don't know where that one will be headquartered yet, but I don't think this is something that should create panic as they have already offered Bittrex international the opportunity to migrate to the Bittrex global.

I think this their decision is to make their services better because when I first saw your post, I was so scared, anything that would make Bittrex close down, it means that there is already something going wrong with cryptocurrency generally as this exchange is too big to have financial problem that would have led to the closure.

From which part of the announcement you conclude that they're closing down? It seems like they're opening a new branch in Europe for me.

It's just like bithumb and bithumb global
Or like huobi.com and hbg.com / huobi global

Seems Bittrex International is closing in late Oct:
I think you misunderstood the article. Bittrex not going to closed anything. But they are going to launch something new called " Bittrex Global" which would be with extra features. Probably current Bittrex users will able to trade there. And they would list also coins those are currently trading on Bittrex. So we shouldn't worry about that issue. I think our assets are safe.

Seems like it's not closing. Changing there name From Bittrex International to Bittrex Global i think. It was really great exchange couple of years ago but after they launch Bittrex International people start to leave bittrex because of some kyc issue and lack of trading technique.

I didn't find any tweet about their announcement yet about Bittrex Global. Let's see what happen after change the name. Hope they are planing for some good idea for their exchange and customers.

Bittrex international customers will have to scratch their head once they found out about this. They would require everyone to register and get verified again?

The article looks legit to me. It's the same site they use for other articles and blogs posted on their official twitter account.

This seems really fishy to me, particularly if users need to re-register (and re-verify) and development teams need to re-apply for listing. Is it possible their Zendesk account was compromised?

This is the tweet I was referring to where the same site was used. https://twitter.com/BittrexExchange/status/1177713046569017344
If you check their news and announcements page https://bittrex.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/categories/200236600-News-and-Announcements you the same article about bittrex global.

I can't say whether zendesk account has been compromised but it's really surprising that we haven't seen an announcement in other bittrex social media accounts or a response to the article if it's fake. It's almost two weeks since that was announced.

Bittrex will close its access. I think this will make many investors in Bittrex choose to secure their assets by selling their assets cheaply so that they can make prices fall, this is really a terrible place where large exchanges can close and one by one. the place of exchange will be the same as Bittrex does, so you must be careful when storing assets in cryptocurrency.

Rebranding doesn't really take a lot of from the previous site. Perhaps some of the front-end stuff, along with other legal papers would be changed but closing/shutting down the whole service and recreating a new one? I don't think so. Also, they haven't sent any emails regarding the said closure of Bittrex, and if this is really a serious stuff then for sure they want all the bases to be covered and all blog posts to know it  so as not to lose customers and potential patrons.

I advise everyone to not really believe this until further notice comes from the official Bittrex team themselves.

Very strange of them to not tweet about this or notify their customers more actively.

No tweet, Medium post, or announcement on either of their websites. Seems legit......
