Bittrex has increased its listing requirements lately and also its process for vetting new coins.

Basically, if a coin is traded on their exchange you can be sure it's an actively maintained currency w/ decent volume.

When did they start doing that? I can still see a lot of dead, no good coins listed at Bittrex. All the trash must go and must go quickly.

How do they deem a coin as an actively maintained one? I can see that there are quite a few that has almost no activity on github.

That is market of altcoins always adding new altcoins although they are dead coins,
on here we must becareful when choose coins because dead of coins are part of risk
in trading altcoins and we don't blame bittrex because of adding new altcoins.

They add less coins than before, they are learning from poloniex, shitcoins kill bittrex, bittrex was larger than poloniex, but today the status is different. Poloniex is super boss.

i think it is a good for the market because they can have a good list coins in their market, they want to make their market grow with the list and without kick dead coins, they can not growth. i think this is not just in bittrex, we have seen that poloniex is doing the same and this is why bittrex and poloniex still want to increase their market. i am sure that in future if there is any coins that is not have attention from the dev and not giving support to the market, that coins will be kicked out too.

All exchanges should be doing this,to avoid old dev to create fake pumps for their dead coin and this si to entice newbies that the coin is still alive and active in trading,we have seen it on other exchange, dead coin suddenly create a short pumps for gullible traders.

Bittrex is pretty much mainstream within the altcoin trading game so it is pretty much understandable that they take-off the old coins.

I like YoBit because they keep the coins on their exchanges and they don't have any issues when/if the developer hasn't been online in 4 months.

I don't think that Richie will have any coins on his mainstream exchange if he continues with the application high-fee and booting users. For the money...it just isn't worth it.

Unless Richie sells Bittrex there isn't a future for it besides it being a high-fee exchange.

A good coin platform doesn't need Bittrex at all lol.

Congratulations to Bittrex for implementing its policies,  all  exchanges should follow suit and do some house cleaning by kicking out dead coins to protect altcoins traders from investing in scam coins.
If done correctly devs will put extra work in developing and marketing their coins and avoid creating dying coins!

I don't think any exchange cares if a coin is scam or not as long as their is money to be made from them also if they can't compromise the security of the exchange. Go to Poloniex you will find scam coins on it too. It is all about Benjamin

BTC to the moon is inevitable...
Actually their policy is good, i'm for it. What do we have with Yobit and dead coins over there? Low volume, fake pumps, coins which are in maintenance mode forever. Bittrex has more proffesional aproach, this is why lasting so long as one of the best.
 Cool
Someone must clear up alts, i must say thank you Bittrex!

all the good exchanges are like this. most of them even check out the coins code, developers and so many other factors to make sure fist that they are not a scam coin. but in the end all of them are looking for money.

but yobit adds literary anything to their exchange and they love a coin that is dead because they can fake pump it to make money themselves.

That is beneficial for the newbie to the trade as those who will not know about these dead coins will not meet these coins to invest in. On yobit I was fooled to invest in a dead coin. But I will ask that what will those people do who have bough these coins and have them in their bitrexx account? will they be able to move them to another wallet? I am asking it because on yobit I have a coin bought b me.

it is a good news for us because with delisting the dead coins, we don't have to traded the bad coins which don't have a good journey from the dev and if we have a stock on that delisted coins, this will make the coins as a bad investment. i think bittrex want to makes to be a good exchange better than before because they are competitor for poloniex and i am sure that bittrex will add new coins that will have a chance to be traded by the traders.

I agree, also it is a good way to filter  good coins, those with solid group or company backing it. C-cex is also doing the same, they have listings from time to time for coins to be delisted if transaction volume falls below .2 BTC.

delisting based on low trading vol in reality is extremely bad for crypto and assists the multiple scam coin makers.
Ah don't git the logic behind what you jist said.  How is dead leaves droppin' off'n the trees gon' be bad fo' the tree?  You know what I'm gittin' at?  These is scam coins, rite?  It's betta if they jist die inna spectacula fashion, like Kennedy gittin' assassinated.  Blow they muthafukkin heads off.  Thet's wat they deserve.

those dead coins have nodes, that would cost bandwidth and disk space on bittrex network

imagine if dead coins has a very large blockheight that is consuming an average of 1GB per coin that would consume 100 x 1GB = 100GB

Bittrex and any exchange just do business, they need to make their business make a profit, Bittrex have a reason why delisted coin, they do with reason beside low volume sometimes many coin on Bittrex is not getting support from developer again and the wallet didn't working, exchange need to protect their business, so is such a normal thing.

An exchange makes it's money from trading fees and if the coin is not meeting their volume requirements, it will be removed.  Just like a store getting rid of unwanted inventory to make room for new items.  Many exchanges do this so it's really nothing new.  If the coin get's delisted off of Bittrex, you can always get it added on Yobit.  They never delist coins. lol

There is no morality in whatever you are trying to pass across because to the best pf my knowledge, those "dead coins" someone created it and its from your own opinion that they are dead and thanks that your voice is not the voice of every one to take a position for us. And for the advise, we appreciate and its a welcome advise. Also the last time I checked Bitrrex has never forced anyone to buy any coins, they support and advise, if you are convinced you part away with your money if you are not, you keep your money. Its as simple as that...

Looks like Bittrex just kicked off a bunch of coins. Moral of this story is to be very careful of any coin that is only traded on 1 exchange and to be honest, some of these coins deserve to be kicked off. Only empty promises and for some, not even a  legitimate website or development team. I guess this will slowly weed out junk coins- Polo has been doing the same thing.

Some of these coins have been around a while but I guess that is it.

Anyone have any other info, speak up.

No exchange, no market, no coin.

https://bittrex.com/status

what do you mean moral
all altcoin exchanger, if coin die without volume transaction
or volume transaction very low, exchanger can dilisting coin

exchanger is only bussines, can good coin exchanger can accepted and then someday people not interest buy , and volume transaction very low exchanger kick out and dilisting coin
is normaly not moral

The truth is that bittrex added many coins that probably should not be on the website. Many of them had almost zero trading volume, the developers of the currencies also did not contribute, because the development was very slow. I believe that from now on bittrex will be more cautious when choosing altcoins to be listed.
