I agree with you it's clearly a dishonest and shady practice from Bittrex. It's not their funds, they can't hold back your funds like that for dubious motivations. In fact the reasons they're evoking here don't even make sense.
If I think someone send me something illegal, I will send it back, I will not keep it at home... so if they think your funds are dubious, they should just refuse them.

I haven't used bittrex for a while now since they started asking for KYC, but this is completely crazy. If I were you, I'd ask them to unlock my bitcoins and cancel all my trades, with bitcoins sent back to your wallet or back to where they came from if that's acceptable. I would never get into such a ridiculous back and forth discussion with them.
Basically what they are doing is asking you to prove how you were able to obtain the coins that you are trying to sell, which is unacceptable to a holder like me, who has no proof of purchase and no incentive to give them my bank statements or business records, especially since my coins were never bought through a bank but earned or bought with cash. Just find yourself another exchange and request for your bittrex account to be closed and funds returned. You have made a mistake of depositing your coins with bittrex and you should correct it ASAP. If they are afraid of money laundering, they can either deny you services (but can't hold your coins because that's theft), or report you to the authorities for verification.

If they keep playing cat and mouse with you and holding your coins, get a lawyer.

I dint understand what you have munched there though, but I think that bittrex is too reliable to do anything fishy, so it may be quite too early to actually start tagging whatever problem you have with them as scam and also be sure that whatever transaction you have done so far was actually on bittrex, because we have lots of scammers that do use the name of some of these top exchanges to dupe investors.

I believe you must have contacted them, if you have, keep pushing until they reply you. Bittrex is not s scam, exchange, and of recent, they were even seeking approval from United State from a particular establishment, so for these type of exchanges like Binance, that would make their identity known to public, it will be difficult for themto scam, so I believe you will still be able to get in touch with them.

It doesn't change much. He is showing money on his account and that's it. No sign of bittrex blocking him and no emails from customer service. We need that to believe this is a real problem and OP isn't making it all up.

File a real scam accusation with all evidence in the proper section if you feel scammed.

It's really sad if bittrex blocked him and didn't answer his mail. When i start trade bittrex was on of the trust able exchange. I also quit trade there when they blocked my account. But couple of days later i provided them my KYC document and suddenly one day it's opened. it's take time like 2 weeks or something. Immediately i transfer my all token to another exchange. But i never thought they cheat some people. It's really sad to hear that, hope he back his money soon.

I understand that Bittrex is one of the top exchanges, of course they are always being professional with their users, if you can't get your account now that means there are some problems with verifying your account and data. Well Bittrex always uses data verification every time there is a big problem, they make sure it's your real account.

It must be done bittrex because this exchange is domiciled in the US, where they must comply with all strict regulations issued by the US government. Anyone who cannot verify their original data will have their account locked, until they are able to verify validly. I don't consider this a scam, but it's about compliance with regulations in their country.

Bittrex needs to ensure their customers' safety and this is necessary in a large exchange like Bittrex because the US government now has a very strict policy of managing crypto. I think it won't be a problem if you provide real KYC information and I have encountered the same situation as you, so nothing will happen and don't worry too much about this issue.

That's right I think op fault is to failed to pass the kyc requirements what bittrex looking for, he need to fix it for sure op problem will fix. We know bittrex is one of the most trusted exchange with strong protection for their users and both parties.

As nasty as these moves were, they are not a scam exchange. The only problem is that they are so understaffed, that getting your tickets resolved can take weeks or in some cases even months.

Their volumes aren't as high as they used to be in the past, which means less income and therefore less capital to allocate to employing more staff members. They have gone backwards hard. Undecided

Bitebtc still has many unresolved scam accusation until now and it does look like a scam site, but Bitrex? I don't think so.

That's what I was thinking also. Bittrex will resolve his issue if submitted properly to their support. I don't think bittrex will ruin their reputation with one account. Try reaching out the right channels in bittrex and maybe the OP can resolve his case.

But yeah, you're not the first guy in the history of crypto to have his account locked. I am going to assume it's from now following some sort of KYC regulation that they asked you too. There's nothing that we'd be able to do here, unless you are able to show that there is some sort of wrongdoing on behalf of bittrex. That's the only way we're able to promote outrage.

His case with BiteBTC might be legit. We know how terrible they are, and IIRC, they've had those withdrawal problems a few times, just like Bitfinex. Probably they don't have enough funds to process the requested withdrawals, and so some of their users face pending withdrawal or an outright ban. "We detect malicious activity" my ass.
