If we leaves bitcointalk... who buys BITZ?
Bitz needs btc, hype and work

I have tried various strategies to advertise BITZ but it is difficult to get any market penetration. The market is simply over saturated with coins and trends. Now we have all the Ethereum clones coming up like Shift and Expanse etc. and people like to follow trends like that and cash in.

It is difficult, and not desirable to try and follow up with new features etc. A year ago, I was thinking along the lines of technical development and novel features to promote and to develop BITZ and we had (still have) some good ideas that may or may not be implemented. As I said before, there is no need and no demand for this and so serves no purpose. Lately, I have come to realise that BITZ and Bitcoin and Litecoin and numerous other cryptos are meant to be "digital money" and serve the same purpose of money but without the central organisation through banks and governments. This is what cryptos were initially made for and this is were BITZ will go. BITZ is a form of "digital money" and I guess the design philosophy was around that concept. Everyone has been caught up in a race for 'innovation', 'features' and various exotic PoS schemes and to invent / re-invent uses for the underlaying blockchain technology but none of this will make cryptos useful in the real world. I think that if we were to follow through and take part in this race for innovation with BITZ it would detract from the purpose for which it was made, to be a simple to use digital currency.

What will make a crypto useful and hence valuable is directly related to its usefulness and the innovation must be in ways to create markets and demand for the currency. In an analogy from fiat money; it's is nice and satisfying to have a fiat note made of high-tech paper that changes colour with the seasons, where your fingerprints don't stick and with 3D holograms but ultimately useless if can't buy anything.

This is a good call. The tech behind BITZ is amazing and can scale quite large. It's time that this digital money serves some purpose.

It's a work in progress.... http://immix.xyz

Could immix.xyz be used to host a staking wallet for my BITZ?

I'll look into it...you wanna run a web wallet? Like the block-explorers and exchanges?

I have some BITZ in paper wallets. I have too many PoS coins to run them all from home on my 1 computer. I was thinking I would set up a $5 or $10 cloud server at digitalocean.com to stake my coins and help secure the network. You're $1.5 server sounds a lot better.

Well, it's a hosting service for web sites at the moment and not a VPS service yet.

I like everything you're doing. Creating a use for BITZ is a great idea. No need to add in features no one is going to use.

I will try to set up 1 or 2 nodes and stake my coins when I have time.

dump dump dump! Do not pump in Bitz, only the last of the delisting bittrex, silliness that are here!  Cheesy

What are you trying to say? Plain English would be helpful...

Bitz is not going to delist at Bittrex

...and if someone wants to dump a bunch of Bitz, I'll buy, offers??

I feel that we have a community of less than 10. There is very little interest and cryptos in general are in a slump. I am paying very month to keep this running. There is no way to make BITZ pay for itself so I am out of pocket every month for block explorers and the permanent nodes. I do not think complicated work to alter the staking mechanism or adding new features nobody wants will take us where we would like to go. At the moment only 24.5% of BITZ are staking and most are just sitting on BITZ to sell if the price goes up. We are working on how to take us forward but new features will not do it.

Thats why we are trying to set up services that can be paid for in BITZ and instead of trying to change BITZ which is running fine, we want to create a market / markets for using BITZ. This is the immediate plan. We need more liquidity if we are to move on with further development. This development will have to be guided by the requirements of use rather than what we think is useful.

There will be a roadmap but we are currently working on the immix project which is the market creation for the use of BITZ.

It's a work in progress.... http://immix.xyz

I hope that makes sense...The main thing working against cryptos is the lack of real world usage. This is where we will focus our efforts for the time being. There is nothing wrong with BITZ at the moment. If there are bugs or problems we will address this.

ED: So, we are working towards offering services for Bitz and make markets to spend Bitz on something useful. More to come...
