I was under the impression that those protests had morphed into "protests" that now were something else entirely.

There are ~40 million black Americans.

In 2018, about 2.8 million were arrested (not convicted).

178k of the 2.8 million arrests were for violent crimes.

In other words:
39,822,000 blacks were not arrested for a violent crime and 37,200,000 blacks were not arrested at all.

0.4 % of black people were arrested for violent crimes.

99.6 % were not.

You get the picture?

This thread is a great example of why millions of people around the world are protesting the way black people are treated in general.

Being born and raised in Europe, it still baffles me just how racist some Americans can be.
And I also find it funny that those same guys still live with the illusion that they are living in the best country in the world.

you have to put it into context of alot of other data to come to any summary
theres even great info about the how many cops are in the street per 100k populous
and how many 'police employees' total vs cops on street

las vegas has more station based police than officers on the street
where as chicago has more officers on the street than 'employee's in the station

this usually shows how police budgets are spent
for instance washington DC has a high 'employee' level and a high officer level and also a high ratio of the mix
this means well funded departments that can afford lots of detectives and lots of officers
however chicago has half the budget per populous and so the spend a little more of the limited budget for officers on the street than on detectives

this results on them wanting to do 'quick arrests' to get maximum benefit of their budget. and not want to do detailed investigations/detective work
also the evidence gathering and attention to detail about truly proving a crime is done by a suspect which leads to more innocent people getting arrested for more petty stuff just to get their arrest numbers up

other interesting data points are
seatle has a higher 'household income' that washington DC, so you would think this would mean more state tax = more 'law enforcement employees/officers'
year washington DC has more officers based on numbers per 100k populous
chicago has a lower household income = less state tax.. yet has more cops than seatle

so its no surprise that in a lower household income area with higher cops and not much detective work. then yea certain petty crimes that can be handled quickly get handled

where as other area's where there is more being spent on detectives. and where the income is higher then less of the petty crimes are handled and they actually bother to investigate and only concentrate on the bigger crimes that matter

Look the reason why black lives matter for example doesn't protest this is because they're racist. They want elitism and not equality. If they really were about equality they'd be called "Lives Matter." or something.

BLM doesn't really acknowledge black on black crime or black police officers getting shot so they've lost legitimacy as an organization right there.

I never supported them, I've always had a bad feeling about them and I was right. I'm mostly Vietnamese Asian btw.

Black Grime Matters, even though you can't see grime on blacks as easily as you can see it on whites.

Historically, Blacks are the only continent killed by other race, so many cases reported about blacks killed in other country because of colour differences, gender based violence, apartheid happened in South Africa and many illegal crimes done on the blacks. Uncountable cases had happened and the government has nothing to do with it. The whole system is controlled by white supremacy that's why nothing is done about George Floyd murder.
