To be honest I recently studied several projects that have the direction of medicine and pharmacy. Having studied the ideas and goals of developers, I will say that the blockchain can bring a lot of useful and necessary things to this industry to achieve effective work.
It is nearly a year since this article was published and I just Googled this and I can find no new information on this. I think a lot of these projects are hyped in the media, but a low percentage of them are successfully implemented. 
When I started with Bitcoin, everyone was talking about the massive potential of Smart contracts in Bitcoin and I have yet to see any big project, running on Bitcoin Smart contracts. Yes, Ethereum ran with the concept and it was successful in ICOs, but that is where things stopped.

Blockchain technology is very comfortable with any kind of industry , so it go well with the medical industry , in cryptocurrency there are ICO peojects that are being launched and promoted which are powered by the blockchain technology.
I agree Without a doubt blockchain technology is very adaptive and flexible so doesn't matter what ever the industry is and required area or organization it can be use to make there existing processes very effective and efficient by giving better security than traditional centralized systems and I think that is the main reason most companies are looking into blockchain technology to find better solutions for there business needs
I think using blockchain technology to help medical and health care industry is a bold move and it is a essential field that required advanced technology like blockchain because today handling patience sensitive information has become a crucial task for any health care professional or a hospital specially when handling large amount of patience in the same time and easily information can get misplaced, lost or go into wrong hand which can led to many problems so blockchain technology is a great solution to avoid such problems

Bitcoin will be very useful in the field of medicine. As well as actually in any area. It can greatly simplify, improve and secure the monetary operations of any organization, commercial or public.
