I would prefer to be able to see my btc on my phone to be honest unless it’s safer to just use the desktop? Is would I be better of using desktop over mobile or they are both the same ? If ones safer I would prefer the safest option.
I feel like you are all over the place and that I have replied to several of your posts in the last 2 days. Grin
Try Blue Wallet as your mobile companion app for your Jade. It's easy to set up, use, and has all the features you need.

Put aside safety concerns when you think of watch-only wallets. As has been stated, they don't have the private (signing keys) for your bitcoin. if someone were to steal your phone/computer or gain remote access to it, they can watch and see how much bitcoin is in the wallet, but they can't steal it due to the lack of private keys. This is true for watch-only wallets regardless if you use them on a phone or a desktop.

Since you are new to all of this, I suggest you read Blockstream's Help Center about the Jade. Go through all of the articles. It's for your own good. You don't always need a video to understand something, especially if a quality one isn't available.

This is how I’ve originally set it up https://youtu.be/XVKsaPCe260?si=vFJMcDPdjtM60_Ji this isn’t set up as a watch wallet with nunchuck or it is ? Trying to find a video on YouTube that shows how to fully set it up with sparrow airgaped and with a watch wallet but can’t seem to find one 😫😂
Nunchuck is the watch-only in the YouTube video. It can be any other wallet that support Jade.

For Jade setup with Sparrow, this video would be helpful: https://youtu.be/AC4TwzgUvPw?si=YgcV7A7eURAEYF0F

I think I am getting my head around it slowly lol. So I can set up my jade airgapped using sparrow then from my sparrow account I can copy and paste the xpub numbers into blue wallet or nunchuck and it shows the balance ?
Yes, this is possible you can see the instructions and guides here[1][2], the exporting of xpub should be done on compatible wallet, never had used blue wallet and nonchunk but if they have importing feature, it's probably possible.

[2] https://help.blockstream.com/hc/en-us/articles/20272957303577-Add-Jade-to-a-QR-supported-app
It should also work on Bluewallet as long as the hardware wallet supports PBST. I posted this on another thread that the OP created:

You cannot spend coins with just a watch-only wallet, so it is different from Ledger Live.

If your phone or computer gets hacked but there's only a watch-only wallet inside the program then nothing happens to your BTC as there are no private keys to steal. That's why it's useful.

https://youtu.be/imMX7i4qpmg?si=mrSsSqU9T-v6hRgl Watching this video it shows that blue wallet generated a seed phrase through the app, if my phone say was compromised and someone could see this  seed phrase is that not dangerous ?

You can import addresses or master public key on Bluewallet if you want to use it as a watch-only wallet. Watch-only wallets are normal wallets that does not have seed phrase or private key (which can be used to spend your coins).

If you want to use Bluewallet as an online wallet, you can generate the seed phrase on Bluewallet. It also support seed phrase and private key import. But that is an online wallet and it is not safe like cold wallet that the seed phrase or private key remin offline.

Thanks tether sorry for all the questions just want to set it up once and get it right. As at the moment I set the jade up with nunchuck airgapped but don’t have any btc on it yet so will switch it. Is sparrow the best recommendation to use with a watch wallet or would blue wallet be better ? Thanks

Sparrow only works on desktop platforms. Meanwhile, Bluewallet only has mobile apps for iOS and Android. (They also have a macOS app but I'm guessing you don't use macs.) So the choice comes down to whether you want your watch-only wallet to be on your phone/tablet or your computer.

I will watch the video you sent thethar thank you. Is that all I need to fully set it up with a watch wallet ? Also do I need to run a node ? Little bit confusing as someone who is not too tech savvy lol

No, you don't need to run a node to set up a watch-only wallet. This is all you need.

Hi not a tether, just wondering is it safer to set it up with a watch only wallet ? I am new to this and seems a bit confusing haha, I looked at some videos where you can set it up airgapped with nunchuck Wallet but people are saying nunchuck can be compromised through the inheritance plan thing ?

Never heard about watch-only wallets.
For what they are for? - To look after another wallet, basically?

Watch-only wallets are like regular wallets but with the private keys stripped out. Only the public keys are there. This means that you can use the wallet to receive coins, but to spend them you have to create (another) normal wallet that contains private keys. And you use QR codes or USB drives to send transactions between them.

They are much, much safer when you are working with large amounts of Bitcoins which you won't want malware to touch.

Thank you very much.
It's like a remote access wallet to rule the other wallets and not be caught in an attack or something  Grin

Can watch only wallets be made airgapped ? I am currently watching a video on how to set up sparrow wallet on YouTube and it’s showing the the private keys are generated through your computer ? Which I didn’t think was good to do. Is there any videos that you would know of on how to set the jade up with sparrow and a watch wallet ? Also do you think it’s holding bitcoin in a ledger ? Thanks

Are you watching this video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AC4TwzgUvPw

It explains how to set up an airgapped Jade with Sparrow.

When you connect the Jade to the computer running Sparrow Wallet, it only imports the public keys from the Jade, not the private keys. So there's nothing special you have to do to make the Sparrow wallet watch-only - it's already like that when you connect any hardware wallet.

Just make sure your computer has a webcam attached to it, so that you can scan signed transactions from the Jade.

Also I might mention I want the wallet for long term holdling I won’t me making transactions out of this account

Would I still use a watch only wallet in this method thanks

Yes, because you don't want some random hackers to loot your bitcoins that are stored on a normal wallet.

If you import bitcoin address or addresses or master public key on a wallet, the wallet is a watch-only wallet. It has no private key or seed phrase that can generate the private key. So the wallet is not used for providing a signature for spending your coins. It is used for tracking your transactions. Also watch-only wallet are used for making unsigned transaction which can be sent to your cold wallet, signed on the cold wallet and then transferred back to the watch-only wallet or a broadcasting tool to broadcast the signed transaction.

Blockstream Jade is a good hardware wallet. It is also an airgapped hardware wallet.

As NotATether posted already, you can use Sparrow on airgapped device and watch-only wallet if you have a device that you can spare for it.

Alternatively, you can use Electrum: https://electrum.readthedocs.io/en/latest/coldstorage.html

Only multig is for the inheritance plan on Nunchuck. The inheritance plan has been the reason I have not been recommending the wallet.
