My bitcoin balance is normal but the dollar balance shows negative
And when I want to send it shows insufficient balance message
You've received the balance still not get confirmation so you totally balance is negative not worry after your transaction got confirmation Your balance will return to normal.

10 BTC ? Definitely you can buy a hardware wallet like Ledger HW1 , you can buy one from ebay there, about 60 GBP together with transport but its very much worth it when you will store 10 BTC, it is malware proof and 2fa to keep you coins secure. A hardware wallet is the best option to save your bitcoins when you have a high amount especially now that the price is over 600 and it means you have over 6000 USD.

Buy a Ledger HW1 or a Trezor hardware wallet both are very good for saving your bitcoins, with trezor costing a bit more and many people saying its better than ledger.

What about the Ledger Nano?
There`s a duo edition on amazon for around 42 Usd

Blockchain has been having quite problematic for so many users.
That is the reason I didn't wait for myself to experience that problem and switched myself to Electrum even though I only have a small amount of coins.

Ok, so today it showed me the correct amount but now it shows a message when I`m sending bitcoin

"Blockchain wallet`s cannot handle thansactions over 16kb in size. Please try splitting your transaction"

It was just 0.01
Bitcoin's network doesn't really care if you are sending 0.01 or 10000 BTC at once amount is not that important.
For bitcoin the only thing that really matters is size of the transaction.

Bitcoin transaction has these information included:
- an input - a record of which addresses were used to sent money to you
- an amount - self explanatory
- and output - addresses where you are sending your BTC

And now - if the amount of bitcoin you were sending were composed from many inputs size of your transaction will be higher (and so fee).
That is why it is unadvised to collect so called dust transactions as your fee and transaction size later will be huge.

Maybe you received or sent a double spend, so your balance is negative now? Or maybe the block explorer is having problems?

Maybe the issue will auto correct after few hours or so...

I started using Coinbase and mycelium, I have around 10 BTC
Which one is the safest?
No one says you need to choose just one, each has their own benefits.

Personally I leave around 1 BTC in coinbase if I need to send BTC while I'm out and about because its so easy to access and send, I can also use the BTC stored in the account to sell quickly if BTC starts heading to the moon and I want a little more fiat.

The majority of my coins are then placed in cold storage paper wallets, with the remaining in local encrypted wallets (Armory).

I have seen paper wallet for sale on ebay how do those work? are those safer?
Paper wallet is way more secure than electrum or mycelium, just make sure not to lose the paper somewhere Wink
Basically, the paper contains your private key and when you want to use it you just need to import your private key into your desktop wallet

You can find more information on the wiki
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Paper_wallet

N.B. Don't buy paper wallet from Ebay, I'd rather generate one myself and print it, It's more secure than buying through Ebay Smiley

You shouldn't store your big amount on exchange site. Mycelium is better than coinbase, but I think you should use more secure wallet, I recommend you to use electrum wallet.

Mycelium seems to have better feedback than electrum

Something must go wrong with the live conversion rate. Keep track on your BTC balance and do the conversion by your own if you want to know what's worth in $. For sure they will fix it in next update they will release.
