So when people search one of these stupid sites pops up at the top?WTF kind of deal is that, thought big sites would have the top spot most of the time in searches, how are they getting to the top of the page in this case?
it's because phising site owner is using google ads that's why it's on TOP !

Thats pretty slick, google should be more responsible in who they take money from. Sorry for my ignorance on this, was just curious how it was done.

I think it should also be reported to services that track malware, Malwarebytes etc.

I always type the whole address and I enable 2FA, but the main security feature I use is not to store large quantities of bitcoin on online services. You will never lose your

whole hoard, if you keep more that 80% of it in cold storage. If you make mistakes like this, you will only lose small quantities and you can continue as normal. For day to day

use, it is better to use a hardware wallet, like the Trezor.  Wink

Always check the spelling of sites before you access them via google. Nothing has changed, there will always be scum like this on the internet.

You should have 2FA on blockchain.info any way so you'd know it was a scam site any way.

Yet another reason to use Adblock, I guess.
I just tested this with my adblock - and I am using AdBlockPlus and it doesn't block these paid search ads at all.
My search results looks exactly like that picture Op posted. But I won't click on that fake blockchain to test it, better safe than sorry.

Yeah better keep away from that site and never click on it these kind of site should always be known as a scam so that new users will not fall into it.

They´re aiming for the small screens. People are much more likely to fall for a scam like this squinting at a phone than using a regular computer.
Desktop users also ! i don't have bookmarks and mostly i got to address bar and just type blockchain and then click at first link and it's hard to notice when in hurry !

this way is effective for big screen too,top links with ad tags on it make it looks like a trusted site, especially for those un advanced people

Yes, which is why I have no use for those ads. I just use google to search and 99%  of the time  it´s for something that I´m not going to buy or have no reason to see advertised. So why would I need ads?

As long as there is no confirmation from the parties concerned or other parties who claim that it is a good wallet, then certainly it is a fraudulent website and aims to trap people, they finally took the entire existing funds in it. I think Google is not guilty, because they aim to provide a service so that sites can be easily noticed by many people. And for this problem you can report it to Google
