Just like other technologies, programming languages, blockchain technology can also help universities and college to better understand big data analysis, modelling, and mathematical computing

Blockchain has nothing to do with big data or computing, certainly not in a way that can contribute to them. It's a freaking database pattern, have you ever heard about MySQL contributing to "mathematical computing"?

features like POS, POW and so on can further be improved by continuous study of the blockchain technology in Schools.

PoW and PoS aren't features, they are the cornerstones of public blockchain networks like cryptocurrencies. And you can't improve them by making more kids study them.

Blockchain is an online wallet through which various payments and trades can be made. Blockchain technology is becoming more and more popular. To make it more understandable,  various information about blockchain technology has been included in the syllabus of various universities. In addition, this wallet can be used to pay university fees, so the practical knowledge about blockchain was also given.

yeah blockchain has two meaning . one is wallet and one is technology   . your right anyway  . two use of blockchain will be helpful in universities but there are other wallets too that are good not just blockchain and you cant force students to use blockhain wallet  all the time   .

blockchain tech is not bundled with the blockchain wallet but both only have same name   .  blockchain technology is still the most important because this is where it tackles everything in cryptography    .

Blockchain technology are being combined with Artificial Intelligence and Augmented reality. Many schools in Cyprus and other European countries are now offering scholarship for individual for research in blockchain technology https://www.findaphd.com/phds/project/phd-studentship-for-a-blockchain-project-lightweight-blockchain-consensus-algorithm-for-resource-constrained-iot-devices/?p112657

Over the past few years, blockchain technology has gained a huge amount of fame and all this is due to its cybersecurity features. Currently, there are various industries taking security in a serious way including healthcare, finance and education. Not many people know that the potential usage of blockchain is far more than the current application and it can really make a huge difference in the classroom too.

Like other sectors, education is important and there are areas within this one that can be improved using advanced technology. The market for education is developing in a fast-paced manner and it is somewhat estimated to reach around 95 billion by the end of 2020. Already various tools like personalized learning and virtual reality along with AI is making a huge improvement in giving out the best learning outcomes of kids.

There are many applications and benefits of blockchain-based ledger technologies for education:

1) Record And Data Of Students – Well, academic transcripts are the major and time-consuming tasks in most of the academic institutions. Before issuing a certified transcript of a student’s grades, each entry must be manually verified to ensure accuracy.

Another kind of student record that is frequently requested is the certification of course contents. In K-12 education, a student in one state takes a class called ‘Algebra’ and then moves to another state where he or she is enrolled in a school that also teaches a class called ‘Algebra.’

So far, so good. But do both these courses share the same content? Verifying this means comparing the courses’ content. In K-12, this can be tedious. At the university level, it is a nightmare. For each student who requests this record, each page should be signed and stamped (to ensure accuracy). But if this information were stored on a blockchain, with just a few clicks, a person could obtain a complete, verified record of content courses and all academic achievements.

2. Diplomas and certificates - Just like grades, a student’s diplomas and credentials could be issued and stored on a blockchain. Instead of asking the institution emitting the diploma to certify a paper copy, employers would only need to be provided with a link to a digital diploma. This is already being done. In 2017, MIT began issuing digital, blockchain-stored diplomas to its graduates. This prevents people from submitting fake degrees to potential employers, a situation that is, regrettably, all too common. Also, blockchain companies like Authlink have started to provide such services to various clients in India and the US.

3. Badges - Besides degrees, a person’s typical resume contains a lot of additional information that could be relevant to employers. We’re talking about foreign language skills, technical knowledge, or specific abilities not necessarily related to a person’s profession.

Well, these skills aren’t easy to verify. But a person can get an expert third party to verify that skill and grant a certificate or badge. If these are stored on a blockchain, they prove that a person indeed has the skills in question. Services like Open Badge Passport are the first step in this direction.

4. Lessons and courses - Many blockchain are also smart-contract capable. That means that lessons and courses can be programmed into the blockchain and executed automatically when certain conditions are met. For example, a teacher could set up tasks for students. The completion of each task could be automatically verified by the blockchain’s smart contracts. Upon completion of all tasks, teachers could receive payment with crypto tokens and students could be awarded credits. Entire courses could be laid out this way.

These Universities that started adding blockchain to their curriculum sees a career in it and that's good for their students. It's a win-win for them and also to their students. They can insert the technology as a course to those students that sees themselves as aspiring blockchain developers. One study in LinkedIn was shown that many companies were looking for that specific developer.
I believe the thread is largely about a different thing. It's not education related to Blockchain, it's about applying blockchain in education. I'm sure there are projects that offer some use cases, but it's hard to say whether it is indeed efficient to, say, keep records or verify diplomas via blockchain. Instead, I agree with you that the main connection between blockchain and universities should be the universities offering courses or even degrees on Blockchain. It's a hard skill in high demand, but one can barely find an institution to learn it, so this is what they should focus on. Blockchain is a great technology, but one should try to put it into use at every place possible.
That could be the other use and help that blockchain technology can provide for universities and colleges. The question made by op isn't clear so that's how I came up with my answer. There's already an answer about what you have said and that's why I think some other ideas could also be a nice idea. I won't mention the online learning platforms that offer this course because some might not consider them because it's just about universities and colleges. It's hard to find those schools but here are probably some of them but there's a connection to accounting.

Can blockchain technology help universities and colleges?
Why not? Blockchain technology is broad and offers solution to many fields. Now health, education, finance etc are utilizing this technology to provide contemporary services to clients. One South African school has inculcated this into their educational curriculum. And this is a good step.

Blockchain ar like database and every system today is using database including universities and colleges. I find it very dangerous to use blockchain though because the records are immutable and if its publicly available it's not going to be good for someone with negative records.
Using blockchain as database for records take much time, money and effort, why spend it on universities when you can do the same with other capable database servers, my take on this is that having the records locked in encryption pretty much makes records keeping a difficult thing to do, and to say that to make it safe is pretty far fetch, who would attack universities for monetary purposes? I am sure there will be someone but the chances are very low. We could better utilize block chain technology through finance and market industry because these involve money that is likely to attract unwanted attention.

I don't request loans~
Isn't it just pushing the idea even though there's no need to? I mean, blockchain technology is basically a database. A collection of data. And besides, I don't think there's a need for a decentralized system of records, especially in the case of students of universities where possible changes may need to be done. And in all honesty, a centralized system seems way more efficient imo. Even if we do take into account other organizations joining in a centralized system such as the government and private businesses, a cooperative centralized system would still be the same. Or maybe a public organization responsible for the accumulation of every record accumulated.

Actually, there are still some benefits theoretically of the blockchain for universities. However, the problem now is that can this really occur and run well? What kind of universities suitable for using this kind of blockchain platform? Can it be really effective?
I think it can, but it costs a lot, and this is certainly still a major factor. Just look at the current university as a business field so see how the advantages and disadvantages compare to the university. Blokchain technology is still a lot of many people undertand, so that it requires blokchain experts with large costs to build it. So right now I think it's still in the research phase. Even though I've heard a lot about education-based ICO projects, but it seems to fail.

Basically, Blockchain is probably available to be adopted for every sector industry and terms in this world. However, it will depend on the purpose of adoption that will be influential or not, will be a real case or not.

I have read some articles about the benefits of blockchain for universities or how blockchain help universities or college. Theoretically, the blockchain will help universities mostly probably for:

"Record-keeping"
From what I read, the most use case of blockchain technology for universities is using it for record-keeping. Blockchain can be used for credential verification for the colleges or universities in a large scope. In this case, the university may have a trusted and advanced blockchain platform to verify the identity of their students or graduates from any place, around the world. It is done by using the technical integration of blockchain technology. The university can provide the blockchain platform for document verification to verify students' identity details, data, academic records, certificates, recruitment process, and also other records. The platform is probably also connected to other institutions such as the government, other colleges, banks, corporates, publishers, and other parties. of course, it may be differentiated from the menu of intern data. But at least, there are other menus provided for the features.

The scheme:

By using this record-keeping, they will give some advantages:
1. reduce paper uses
2. More effective and efficient
3. Can be accessed easier by students or graduates, lecturers, and other parties in relation to the record and activities
4. Anti-fraud protection

However, in this case, the developer must ensure the security of the platform because it will include all data or records that are very crucial and sensitive. Without a high-security system, it will mean less.

Actually, there are still some benefits theoretically of the blockchain for universities. However, the problem now is that can this really occur and run well? What kind of universities suitable for using this kind of blockchain platform? Can it be really effective?

I really think it will do more than that.
Just take a look around every sector which the Blockchain has entered, it has revolutionized them.

It will be a big advantage to our universities and colleges

Can blockchain technology help universities and colleges?

This is the wrong approach.

You are thinking like this: "I found a solution. Now let's find a problem that fits this solution".

it is the other way around. I have seen a question like yours several times: "How can I apply blockchain here?"

This is not the correct approach, instead try to think "I have this problem. Which tools are able to do that?"

Not only the university but the world in general. It will help students more though because it will create job as soon as students graduate, they can get job since a section in blockchain will already be open for employment. It will also make more people to understand the blockchain technology and the uses. It will grow the digital business more.

Can blockchain technology help universities and colleges?

Actually Colleges and Universities can follow blockchain to safe students data for next coming years. After academic degree students go their work place but some hacker group can target  academic certificates of students. Here blockchain play a vital role to safe their certificates and information.

Every college an universities has big Library and lots of information that may hack also anytime. But if here use blockchain technology it can be more secure.

So i think in this way in education sector can be apply blockchain for their activities.

Can blockchain technology help universities and colleges?
For payment system maybe yes. But outside this area, I am thinking if there is an advantage for it. Schools are an active institution for learning and the idea of blockchain is more appropriate on business sector or innovation firm where blockchain can be more suited and be more helpful. I'm not saying it can replace other areas such as banking, financial loans etc. Maybe for tuition fees they can used blockchain as alternative payment aside from normal cash, credit card or check. By these they have more outlet for convenience of their students that are into crypto payments.

Besides bitcoin payments, I don't really know to be honest. Blockchains are quite slow. I think "blockchain for universities" would mostly be like the case of most Ethereum ERC20 projects whereas these projects doesn't even need to have a cryptocurrency(or to even use a blockchain to start with).
