Blockchain.com has two different types of recovery phrases.

Old recovery phrases were between 15 and 21 words in length and were simply to recover the password of your wallet. If you opened the wallet in 2014 as you say, then this is probably the kind of phrase you have. Enter it here - https://login.blockchain.com/wallet/forgot-password. If you are successful, you should be able to use the password it recovers to access your wallet. If it gives you an error, let us know what that error is.

Newer recovery phrases are BIP39 phrases which will recover your entire wallet. In blockchain.com's case, these are always 12 words in length. This is unlikely to be the kind of recovery phrase you have since they did not create them in 2014 and they have never been 16 words long.

what is a private key?   the memonic word, .... the password .... or the 16 pgrases word?

Private key can be found in Wallets & Addresses section of Blockchain account, but you could use that only in case you exported it before you lost your password and access to your account.
You should see your public address, balance and private key.

it is very intelligent, to set things in way, that if an user loose the private key , it may be recovered only accessing in the own account which is not possible to enter without password (that is lost )
it is evident, than an user not able to access own account, cannot get access to the private key

I think 3 things had to be done

1. inform previously users to export private keys, since it will not be possible to recover password because the private key
2. however making automatoic this exporting
2. inform users the 16 phrases word would be changed..
3. change the 16 phrases word with an intelligent way (of courseit is difficult for some programmers) for example taking 12 of those 16

but it is too difficult....too many neurons engaged

Losing your password is never a good thing but you can try contacting their support or write them on their Twitter support or other social media accounts, and maybe they can help with recovering your account
Usually, their support is a kind of worst. Even your contact successfully with the support couldn't help you to recover or reset password anyway. Here an article where they describe it.
Quote
Your password is never shared with Blockchain or stored on our servers. We cannot access or reset your password. The only way to restore your wallet is through your backup phrase. Make sure you write down your backup phrase which is the only way to restore access to your wallet in the event of a lost password. Change your password by clicking Change.

They clearly stated Blockchain doesn't store your password nor they would reset it. So, you have to find an alternative way to recover your wallet as I describe above.

However, scammers would send you a PM to recover your wallet. Just be careful, even Blockchain support will not ask about your wallet credentials. So don't hand over your wallet credentials to any person. Just ask them to discuss here publicly if they really want to help.

I clicked on need help option
but it is asked me to enter a 12 word phrases, while I have instead 16 word phrases

How to resolve?

thanks for any help

I think that old Blockchain.info website had different system, they used various number of words and I don't think they even used BIP39 word list so it's not compatible with that.
It's to complicated for my taste and I would suggest switching from their web wallet to other wallets like Electrum, and if you know private key you can even import from Blockchain wallet.

Most probably your 16 word isn't a mnemonic seed phrase to recover your wallet. I believe these 16 words were backup to recover your wallet password. So these words wouldn't help you to recover your wallet directly. If I am not wrong, Blockchain wallet doesn't support password recovery lately. So you have to find some other way. There is little hope if you have access to your email address. Just check if the wallet file exists there, or you may try to recover your wallet file and brute force the password.

Although it's not a very easy process but at least you can try if you have access of your blockchain mail. Please watch this video to know how you should recover or brute force the blockchain password. brute-force your blockchain wallet

I believe your case is same to this thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/old-blockchaininfo-wallet-from-2014-and-before-161719-words-precovery-phrase-5147174. Try to browse the discussion there. It might help you to recover your wallet.
