Potato Chips, Lockbox Blockchain Hardware Wallet - Powered by Ledger!

This hardware wallet is only for users who are interested to store/trade few coins which are supported by blockchain.com. Even if they for now support only 4 coins (BTC, BCH, ETH, XML), this number are likely to increase in the future.

For me and for many others such HW is not a option, but considering number of accounts on blockchain.com some users will find this very interesting. It provide using of online service with HW in a very simple way, no need to download any software - just go through set up as any HW, and use it with your blockchain.com account.

Well, honestly.. the lockbox thing is just a cheaper version (in terms of functionality) of the nano S.

  • It doesn't provide the ability to store all the coins the nano S does.
  • It is not supported by ledger live (which has an awesome UI (personal opinion)
  • You are forced to use it together with an online wallet (which is an absolute no-go for me)

I would definitely suggest to get the nano S instead of the lockbox-thing.
I don't see any disadvantage compared to the lockbox, only advantages.

You are right, I completely agree with this. Ledger is much better.

However, I believe this hardware Wallet will never let the keys go online. It probably only send the signed transaction to the online wallet.
If the keys are leaving the wallet to the online website there is no reason to have a hardware Wallet.

And blockchain.com is a respectful company..

Weird... Are you sure that hardware wallet is $12 price? The price shows $59 in my side?

The design looks the same as ledger nano S. So I think this is another clone version of ledger nano.
He meant that the price difference is only $12.

The price diff isn't that much, just $12 and the ledger live isn't supported

Check your coin privilege
Using a hardware wallet to store online coins is like carrying a credit card inside a safe?

The thief can just skip your dumb security altogether and compromise your bank blockchain account..

Why should I use a hardware wallet?

Hardware wallets are immune to computer viruses that attempt to hack or steal private keys. By storing your private key in a hardware wallet, you are securing your crypto offline, keeping it another step away from hackers.

But it's already online..... Huh

Just saw this hardware wallet thing today and was wondering what are everyone's thoughts about this. Is there actually any reason to choose this over nano s? The price diff isn't that much, just $12 and the ledger live isn't supported, there are fewer coins and no segwit 🤔🤔🤔
