As for people's preferences, they are what gender they are, there are people who like the same gender, the other gender, both genders and many other configurations, they are all normal
a person's gender and preferences in sex are matters separate from public life, while I'm not an expert, I can say, with confidence that I've met people good and bad, at nearly equal rates
