just because someone else has come and polluted your thread doesn't mean he has driven potential bidders away.

Maybe yes, maybe no, but when someone posts in your thread 'I think this is a scam' chances are higher to the Yes factor. Which is totally unfair on my girlfriend to have to take a possible big financial loss simply because someone can't keep their opinions to themselves.


You did not post any price reserve information in your OPs and now you are changing the rules ex post facto.

Auction rules technically state no spamming of the post or I will completely abandon the auction. No one is willing to honour that rule, so am I supposed to (in the words of bateatus) open robe and present ass, simply because people only like the rules that suit them (IE getting a house for no reserve) and not the ones that suit me (Having the courtesy not to pollute my post again to give me fair chance to have a decent auction in peace?)

I was thinking of bidding on the house until I saw your previous post. This does not look good at all.

Which are the bones of it- your now pissed off because this isn't going the way you would have like it to and you would not care what happened on this thread if it meant there was an outside chance you would score the house for really really cheap. 

Are you now not going to honor the deal if his bid ends up being the highest one because of factors outside his control?

Actually I am changing the rules because of factors outside of MY control. People spamming my post.

Like it or lump it, these are the new rules. Feel free to take your frustrations out on the spammers of my post, especially those who decided to not once, but twice throw up accusations of scamming on them. As per the auction rules if this degrades into a discussion and does not stay an auction I reserve the right to just pull it in it's entirety. Girlfriend is furious, wanted to pull the auction and just sell it traditionally. I persuaded her that this is worth trying, but due to Mr Goats continued Hijacks she is now setting the reserve at 150BTC, because she feels that the price would be much higher by now if it were not for these Hijacks.

This does not look good at all. I would say that miernik has a valid bid on your house. All I can say is: Oh my EFFING GOD!!!!! I wake up to find that this thread has been Hijacked AGAIN!

Mr Goat I only got up 15 mins ago as I was taking with china all night long, just because I don't live in a PC to answer your personal mails within moments of their sending, does not automatically mean I am a scammer. It means I have what is known as a life outside of the internet.

Sadly I have to report that I highly suspect this to be a scam.

OP has said he will provide the address of the house and the phone number of his attorney in his personal communications with me.

When this information was requested it was not sent. After a few more tries he finally said that he would "have his attorney call me tomorrow morning". Still no explanation as to why he will not give me the phone number or the address of the house.

Having "some guy" calling me and telling me he is a lawyer is not the same as having my lawyer call up a guy and having him verify the information for me.

I want to make sure the house does exist where he says it does and that it is not protected in anyway.

Also I was unable to find the house on google street view. This does not mean much as well they could have missed it but it does make me wonder. The town is not that big at all.

Can I prove that this is a scam? No I can not and the reason why is because I have no information that is useful other than the name of the town and some photos.

I am extremely disappointed as I was seriously interested in the house/auction. I also had some one willing and able to visit the location to see if the house was in good condition.

I will request the OP be labeled a scammer and banned for trolling if he is unwilling or able to provide the basic information needed to auction a house.

That date is agreed upon in the purchase deed. During this time your interests in the property are protected by a priority notice of conveyance (“Auflassungsvormerkung”)."

It is standard procedure in Germany to only pay after the "Auflassungsvormerkung" has been established. It would be foolish not to do this, especially in a case like this. The "Auflassungsvormerkung" is done with local authorities who check identities, so only the rightful owner can sell property. That's pretty much the gist of it. High level of protection, all the escrow talk seems irrelevant to me if you stick to standard procedures.

OP will most likely (have to) agree on this procedure if he wants to make this sale happen.

No. He can send anybody (e.g. a lawyer) who presents the correct papers (which is a notarized power of attorney, "Vollmacht" in German). I'd strongly advise you to google some of the issues, the procedure of buying a house in Germany has been discussed by expats in depth.

It looks like the house is in the village where OP says it is. However it would be nice to have the address so we can confirm the house in the photo is the same one that will be on the paperwork.

I guess you dont want to risk any money because Bitcoin could crash while I hold the escrow money. I could sell the coins after I received them (both parties have to agree). So there is no risk in loosing money.

After the deal is done, you would get a Mtgox EURO Coupon and could buy yourself new bitcoins.

You'll need to clarify that too unless someone bids 151 and expects you to fly them first class to your home so that they can live with you for 2 weeks at your expense lol.
