This is normal. It started at 4600 or something like that and decreases slowly over time, just like other most other minable coins. It's a way to counter inflation.

Seeing the stable minimum 5Mh through 'regular' miners is pretty decent for a project this young. It shows those regular miners are cnovinced that uPlexa has potential.
The fact that some whales are on and off means it is not a profitable project for them (yet), but that they do want an piece of the cake.
And when the project has the payment processor, keeps expanding and time and price are right, the whales will be back in full force, feeding on UPX.

yeah it's not normal to see the reward decreasing suddenly... but actually the hashrate is quite volatile nowadays, as far as I can see it fluctuates between 4 MH/s and 8 MH/s. I guess our whales's minds are fluctuating too ^^ (oh I need to mine this cool coin! - ok, enough for now - oh, let's mine a bit more - now that's it! - oh damn they're on a cool exchange now, let's mine again (...) )

It will take some time, but when the uPlexaproject is full on, the ASIC-makers will try to get UPX under their control. Fortunately the devs have measures in place to counter these ASIC-attacks on the spot. Seeing whats happening to Monero right now, that's a reassuring thing to know. For now we just need steady growth and development, that will work best when still under the radar of the big boys.
Better get those CPU's and IoT-thingies to work!

I just spoke with the main Dev on Discord.
He explained that for now uPlexa resistance to ASICs is pretty high
and the chances for someone developing such device for
the custom UPX Cryptonight algo are minimal.
However the team has a backup option in case someone spends
several hundred thousands on a new ASIC developmnet.

So.. keep mining!
