From user perspective it may sound convenient. But I don't think this will happen, not in a million years. It doesn't make any sense for a self-respecting company to do it.

I really doubt they are under a ddos attack. I think they are just using that as an excuse to buy time so they can pay someone to program their whole coin. Yes, that is the wallet, but they are currently under a DDOS attack and wallet is unavailable until they deal with the bad guys. Nothing to worry about. Just have to wait a little bit more.
