Nesthy Petecio lost despite being the favorites to won the fight, I hope you guys did not put your bet on her so you'll not experience the loss. Anyway, it's still a good achievement for her, she is the first woman boxer who won a Silver or a medal in the olympcis. Congratulations to him, maybe better luck next time.

Yeah, a silver medal is already a big achievement for Petecio and the whole nation is so proud of her for that. Irie Sena is just hard to beat, more determined to win the gold in front of her people and we must admit that. Also, that was my basis before putting my bet on Sena. It's not that I'm not patriotic, I'm just being practical as my gut tells me that the Japanese had the upper hand on this match. I would be very happy if Petecio has won the match as that's also what I'm praying.

Time to lock the thread now and as usual thanks to all who have shared their brilliant speculations about the fight, until next.

No God or Kings, only BITCOIN.
Japan’s Sena Irie denied Petecio of gold as she beat the Filipino for the third time in four meetings since 2019–albeit a controversial victory.

After failing to qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympics, a silver medal is still a worthy victory to celebrate, and I believe she has made significant progress on her boxing career.

And pehaps, fighting IRIE Sena, who is six centimetres taller than Petecio, may add to Petecio's fighting disadvantage. Nonetheless, becoming the first Filipina boxer to win an Olympic medal is an incredible achievement.
That's still worth it for our country and it's best achievement to have another medal from the Olympics. This is a world stage and conquering the silver medal has huge impact and gives high morale to the future athletes in the Philippines. Though, many are still doubting the result of the match as it's really a close game, moreover, our athlete shows sportsmanship.

Congratulations to Irie Sena for winning the gold medal in this last match in their category. While for Nesthy, she's won the silver medal congrats to her too, she's won the 2nd medal for our country, Philippines. Both boxers have shown their sportsmanship and this is the beauty for every sport, seeing both opponents have their warm hugs and greets to each other that they did well and it's just a sport and after all, they can be friends after their match. As for the Nesthy, the same as Hidilyn, there are a lot of pledges already that await her comeback in our country. A lot of incentives, cash, and gifts have already been pledged.

And that is the beauty of this sports, yes we are hoping for another gold, nonetheless a silver is good for the Philippines, maybe next time Petecio will eventually win one for us. She fought very brave, so for both Petecio and Sena, congratulations as well. Yes, there are a lot of incentives already gifted to Petecio when she comes home with that silver medal in her neck.

Yeah, watching the game makes me feel goosebumps as a fellow Filipino. The fight was very close and they both show an impressive skills and endurance, It just happened that Irie Sena has a home advantage which gives her an extra boost to won the fight. A silver medal as addition to our first gold is not bad considering how few players that Philippines sent on this Olympics. GGWP!

Indeed, although Petecio is at a disadvantage, she really gave it all, but the Japanese girl is also tough, but I thought hat Petecio might pull it off as she is the favourite in this match.

Nevertheless a silver medal for her, that's already a big accomplished for the Philippine for having a gold and silver, both ladies. I'm sure it will inspire young Filipinos to be on a boxing gym and win a medal because it has a big incentives financially when they won a medal.

Having a heart to my fellow Filipino race Nesthy Petecio is always my bet for this fight and my odds goes to her.
What made me put my praises to her was he motivations towards he opponent and securing Olympic medal is a great achievement and Honor to Philippine team as well as pride for the whole country.
Overall this athlete Petecio, deserves all the best for whatever it takes blessing and skills prove the heart of true sportsmanship.

I will not bet on this fight, but I will pray that our very own Nesthy will bring another gold for our country. So far this is the most that we have since joining the Olympics and every Pinoy's around the world will be happy to see a 2 gold medal standing at the end of the Olympics.

The odds is 1.42 for her, and I do agree that she was the favourite because she has face a tougher opponent and beat them convincingly going into the finals.

and with the culture of japanese, i don't think they will cheat in front of the world stage. they are known to be honest people

The officiating judges are not Japanese, not because it was Japan as host, they can also influence the result.

There will be mass voiced out if that happened, not just on that sports.

I don't think there will be an unfair judgment here. If there is, it should happen in the early days of the Olympics. The Olympics is now nearing its end.

No wonder Nesthy is the favorite. It's no secret that her rally in the Olympics got hyped especially when she was finally able to secure an Olympic medal. She is seen as more motivated and aggressive and that alone is hard to deal with.

I hope the decision will not be affected because her opponent is playing in her home country. That's bad for the sport or this prestigious event if cheating is happening, and I think it will not happen as Japanese promoters unity than the competition.

What are you saying, guys? Olympics referees are experienced ones and they came from different nationalities. They are professional. In an event that the result is questionable, the world is watching. So far, all officiating is good and fair. It won't likely happen that they will ruin the Olympic Gold match between Nesthy and Irie.

this is the power of technology these days. they can't cheat without the public knowing. social media is also a powerful tool to know the real deal. this will be a historic event for filipinos in case petecio wins this event. for the first time in their history, they grabbed 2 golds in olympics. so let's see.
and with the culture of japanese, i don't think they will cheat in front of the world stage. they are known to be honest people and they will kill themselves if they are guilty of misdeeds. remember hara kiri?

Live with peace and enjoy life!
I've been searching for the betting odds, finally, it's here.

However, I'm a bit disappointed because I was expecting that  Nesthy Petecio will be an underdog here, it turns out he is the favorite to win the gold.
I'm not sure not if I'll take the 1.32 odds, but if would decide, maybe I'll just put a bet for fun.

Maybe because he has beaten the world champion in the early rounds of the event, and her last fight is quite impressive he already fought two tallest fighters,s and even if Sena beat him several times, we are seeing a different Petecio here, the Philippines is on its way to win their second gold I'm congratulating Nesthy Petecio this early.

That's probably it, her journey is tougher so she is now the favorites. However, if she cannot knock out an opponent, we should watch out for the decision as her opponent came from the host country, if you know what I'm saying.

I hope the decision will not be affected because her opponent is playing in her home country. May the best boxer wins, I'm with the Philippine boxer, 100% support but not 100% in betting.

Her pace was somewhat slow against the Italian girl, she lost the first round. But her coach told her that she needs to be aggressive and you can see it from round next round there after. That's why she won that bout. In this case, I think she will start very hot, this is the championship already, gold for her country, but this will be very close as the Japanese fighter is also very good and has beaten Petecio already. But looking at the odds, bookies knows that Petecio could edge out Sena. Goodluck to her.
That's what I was trying to say her aggressive attitude, I just can't find the word in my previous post, her aggressiveness is going to intimidate Sena but if Sena is prepared and calm throughout the fight she will be able to get through those defense.

I do hope that the judges will be fair in scoring.

So Nesthy by 3-2 decision.

Japanese culture is very different though, they will be ashamed of themselves if they know that their boxers won in not a fairly fashion. It's just the judges might be biased, but we will have to see. Petecio did really improved a lot and she can't be deny if everything falls into pieces. Just like Diaz who really work very hard and sacrifices a lot. I do hope that the Philippine win the gold medal, it will be historic for the country, with 2 ladies winning the gold medal.

If she can stay on a pace like her pace against Italy, I think Petecio will be able to overpower Sena although Sena has the advantage knowing that Petecio gets aggressive, she can just let her make a mistake and capitalize on that mistake or even punish it.

You own the pen
Nesthy should give all of her best for this one or she needs to think that this is her last and final fight because her opponent is not something she can underestimate and other than that, she also needs to consider no to count on judges for the points. She is on her own with her great boxing skills.

Here are the current odds, yes our very won Neshty is the favourite:

This time its different though, Nesthy has improved a lot, although head to head Sena is ahead, but Nesthy has beaten her in 2019 Amateur International Boxing Association championships.

And remember that Petecio is full of confidence and is motivated to bring a second gold for our country. But she has to be very careful and his her ring intelligence as Sena is a local hero as well. I do hope that the judges will be fair in scoring.

So Nesthy by 3-2 decision.

It's just sad that there's no other market for this fight, I would like to bet on the handicap but it's not available so I guess this is it, we have to deal with the current odds and I'm gonna be bias here, I will bet for the Philippine representative. Using a price boost, I'm getting 1.34.
