Goonies never say die.
Thanks to everyone for the compliments!

Well done BPIP team.  Is there any actual plan for these cards?  I see they are based on time (DT, last parsed, etc) so printing them out is kind of a waste...
We've kicked around some ideas but nothing has solidified enough to be deemed official. Smiley  At this point, the intent is to allow a person to generate images which are capable of being printed, and ultimately provide a way that the contents of the card can be verified.

Baseball cards are usually based on a specific snapshot in time of a player's statistics.. is printing them a waste? Tongue   OK OK, this is debatable if you don't like baseball, but I'd think having it based on certain periods of time could potentially add value to a card, make some cards more unique than others, etc. Whether or not the date actually has to be displayed or not might be debatable, depending on the verification process.

I like it, although I don't think I'll ever use it to really play.
Everyone may have a different reason for wanting to print an individual card or deck of specific users, that's kinda why I wanted the generator to produce an image that can be sent directly to a printer, to sort of put the power into an individual's hands, with a secondary goal to also potentially offer a way to have us print it for them, in some specific fashion. But, initially it would just be a digital image, capable of being printed.

I'm not disappointed being made a King Cheesy Who's going to be the Joker?
At risk of having my post deleted, I can't go off-topic and talk about who I'd pick as a joker. lol
And.. it's king of clubs.. for obvious reasons.  Cheesy

Thanks for the card, lovely. I guess if any King is still available maybe it will suits me. The Jacks have no beard, the Queens too so not so many options left.
OK OK, seriously, I did specifically pick a few for fun, but my main goal was to just show some of the various ways to generate the cards and what they look like with different position names, trust colors, playing/poker card symbols, etc. Smiley

Is this [highlighted part] how you're going to also determine the value of each card individually or you'll be giving a certain price for a full deck of cards?
- Apart from the trading part, how are we supposed to use these cards for playing with other individuals [have you laid down the game mechanics yet?]?

Overall, I do like it but I'm interested more in playing with these cards instead of their trading potential.
I think there could be various uses for the stats to create a game, but I haven't created one myself. My thoughts on doing something like this are more along the lines of a collectible card game. But no, I'm not an expert in this realm. Smiley

My general thoughts on the potential trading value of a card would start with the stats and/or status, rank, etc. the user has at the time of printing, but maybe the theoretical trading value fluctuates based on the history of that particular user?

Again, no mechanics have been laid out here, but I believe there are ways it could evolve before being 'official', assuming there was enough interest. Designs (or which stats show) could be altered to fit specific game mechanics. The generator could even potentially have various collector series which are selected and generate different designs, or only show specific stats, etc. Assuming its all verifiable and foolproof.

There are ways we could evolve, but this thread/poll is part of this, to try and gauge the overall interest. I've heard there may be some ideas out there on potential game mechanics by other members already, but I haven't seen any of these yet.

these look great! and would be a great bitcointalk merchandise or collectable. just a question. if this ever made it to the point where you are going to sell it or if you ever plan to sell it will the card information be randomized or can the buyer asked for specific users to be put on the card?
Card information is based on the stats BPIP has collected at the time of image creation, these would not be randomized, and would be specific to the user shown on the card.

If the trading card was implemented on BPIP, as long not really disturb at all and make a slow response while accessing the website then will be no problem. I just don't want this trading card could make the website heavier.
Won't make the website heavier at all, it's currently designed as a separate button on the BPIP profile page which pops-out a menu to set the options of the card, then generates when hitting 'generate'. It's the back-end resources that get hurt creating the image when it is requested, which could slow down the overall site, but that's why we are waiting to release the beta until those issues are sorted.

Bobby Fischer was right
Seems like an interesting idea, however without a "classic" CCG understanding, and an RPG approach to it, this will end as a self-serving novelty.
You won't be able to play a game of poker, if you are missing two queens, or even one four of diamonds for that matter. So classic gaming is basically out of the picture, unless full pack of 52 cards is ready, set and available to buy. Thus making the "trading" part, completely pointless...
It seems you also lack the idea for rpg mechanics as well. Where the initial idea was aiming at being a form of rpgccg, or at least that's my reception of it, here we are facing normal, rather fixed poker deck. If I can have any input to this, I would suggest to use some pre-made CCG engine, and turn this in to online forum game, with some form of cryptocurrency based betting system. Tremendous amount of work so its rather a thing of fantasy, nevertheless good luck.

to produce a physical card, or full deck.

~Snipped~

You'll notice the cards currently generate a hash based on the stats displayed.. with the intent to make it verifiable via a QR code or something along those lines (..one possible future development).

Good work BPIP team.
This looks cool and all but I don't know how trading cards would work in this case, and how are members going to perform trades.

First thing that comes to my mind when you say trading is abuse. Can this be abused in any way?

Voting with 2 hands UP Smiley Everything you guys are doing is amazing and I just love this project.

I am curious if people are [still] interested.
Hell, yes!  Wasn't there another member who made digital cards for various members of the forum a while back?  I haven't looked at that thread OP linked to, but I don't think that was what I'm thinking of.  Either way, I think this is a great idea and hope it comes to fruition and doesn't get abandoned like a lot of other ideas.  I would gladly offer my help, but I'm pretty sure I don't have any skills which would be useful for this.

There was a guy in the Collectable section who made not only digital but also physical cards but never manage to deliver them to the buyers so he turned out to be just another scammer. This one

I'm sure we all know that one.
I don't know who you're thinking of, but I have a feeling it's one of two members in particular which I won't name here.  Lol.  I actually think TMAN would be a good choice for Joker of the deck.

Be nice!
In my opinion this would be a fun and interesting development and update on the BPIP project. Being able to see ones stats all in just a card style, I hope that this update continues and be available on the official BPIP so I can print mine and if my guess is correct then my card will just be a pawn 😂😂

I love the concept you have and I know all your time and effort doing these will be worth it.

I agree about the development as long gives us some benefit for easy to find some information data of bitcointalk, but doesn't really care about the card itself. I'm using BPIP just for looking for specific information for some data while a search on bitcointalk was really hard to be found like :
- When the reset password happens.
- Merits
- Trust

If the trading card was implemented on BPIP, as long not really disturb at all and make a slow response while accessing the website then will be no problem. I just don't want this trading card could make the website heavier.

I don't know about other people opinion some people could be like it or not, but just want to put my 2 cents since I'm not a pokemon guy too ~XD

In my opinion, the development of the bpip project will not be a waste of time. The bpip site contain a number of information needed by Bitcointalk forum users. I love visiting this site during my free time to see who the cool guy is. So far, bpip is good enough for anyone who want to know more about Bitcointalk forum account activity. Not only that, we have the complete list right there.

I love the card, it looks cool to have. Can I have it too ? :v
