Although the important thing I think is that they all get along well with each other, even if there is a bit of competition to be the best.
What gave you that impression? Loyce and fillippone both suck! Tongue

Right, and o_e_l_e_o is so coward he intentionally misspelt LoyceV so he doesn’t get notified about his rant and he can continue to be his false friend.

Well, I always enjoy seeing stats from BPIP! Wink

.. I'd like to see more links here though, maybe drill down to some of the posts behind the merit stats using the https://bpip.org/smerit.aspx page, even if just the last 30 days or so, maybe link to the BPIP profile page for each, etc.. but I don't want to come off as being too picky here! Regardless, the effort & recognition is appreciated. Smiley

BTW - Male to female ratio seems slightly pessimistic.. I'd go closer to 1:10,000 for active profiles.. pure [optimistic] speculation on that one though. This is assuming we don't need to get into people who "identify" one way or the other.. then you'd probably be missing like 10+ more ratios with various terminologies. Anywho, let's just stick to the male/female ratio, I'm getting off-topic again. Grin

Yes you are right that mate LoyceV is the number 1 leading in terms of earning merits

I didn't say that.

All good contributors here in forum will be the one who manage a fake this forum still beautiful.earning merits is not a competition the reason why we are all here is to LEARN and SHARE knowledge to everyone cause this is a open forum not a competition.

It is true that this information is nothing in particular, and we can all access it with some ease, through the various tools that have already been mentioned.

But I believe the OP wanted to make a small summary of all this data, and present it in a simple and practical way for everyone. Of course, it won't make sense to update daily, weekly or monthly.

But you can do it annually, adding some graphics, for example. In order to enhance the information. Here's the suggestion. Wink

Lol, I didn't know that o_e_l_e_o beats LoyceV in terms of earned merit. It is clear that he is the best when it comes to replies. LoyceV would be the best in terms of theads created that are useful for the forum but he has fillippone on his heels. Although the important thing I think is that they all get along well with each other, even if there is a bit of competition to be the best.

Yes you are right that mate LoyceV is the number 1 leading in terms of earning merits  he got 10711 merits including the airdrop merits. Your statistics (as well as those of BPIP) would be far more accurate if you removed information such as admin/mods moving a thread and being credited with both a post and creating a thread "this thread has been moved to" ...

<...> Male to Female Ratio: 1:27702 <...>
This stat has gone off the rocker recently: The current value in the forum stats indicates  a wee change, with a Male to Female ratio of 1:27708. Nevertheless, the same ratio indicates 4.4:1 (nearly four and a half males per females) back in October 2021. Archived pages from prior years showed a similar ratio, give or take a few decimals.

We can’t really believe the ratio much though IRL. In the past (I haven’t checked lately) there were many bot created accounts that had the value filled-in, but stayed at 0 posts. These types of accounts distort the data (in addition to people declaring whatever they wish on these fields).

Edit:

<…>
I don’t really track that info myself. Nevertheless, the average over the last few months is in the 325-350 range of new registrations per day. I searched for the IDs that correspond to start and end of month since February (my time zone) and got this:
Code:
Month               To        from      diff    days   avg
April 22         3469231      3462332    6900   21     328,57 (roughly so far this month)
March 22         3462331      3451482   10850   31     350
February 22      3451481      3441798    9684   28     345,85
Notwithstanding, doing the above exercise, I found vast samples of accounts that were still bearing 0 posts, which kind of points to them being bot created or such (at the very least non-active).

So while ImThour here is seen as regurgitating facts from BPIP, I appreciate him doing so.  I have the site bookmarked but rarely visit it, and I forgot how much info it has on it.

Appreciate it. I just made this post to introduce new members to a website which might be interesting.

I tend to think about forum statistics, but often I'm baffled as to how to find certain numbers--like the one here, which I made mention of in a recent post but couldn't cite an exact figure (and the number of active members is a lot smaller than I thought):

Active Profiles: 81,437 (2.35%)

So while ImThour here is seen as regurgitating facts from BPIP, I appreciate him doing so.  I have the site bookmarked but rarely visit it, and I forgot how much info it has on it.

That been said, the following stats has been a puzzle.
1. Male to female ratio = 1:27702
N/B: we all believe there are more males than females involved in cryptocurrency/forum at large and this stats seems to say, there are 2 females to every one male on the forum. Am I getting this wrong?
Is that second number 27,702?  That actually sounds like a more realistic one than what you're interpreting it as.  The bitcoin community has always been dominated by males, and I'm pretty sure it still is.  There aren't any sexist reasons for that; bitcoin is free for anyone to use.  My personal opinion is that men are far more likely to jump head first into something new and extremely risky than women are--and even if I'm wrong, it's still true that bitcoin came about from a few guys communicating via e-mails and then a forum.  I read two books on bitcoin and I don't recall a single female who was an important figure in the first 5 years or so after bitcoin got started.

I had hoped that OP would at least mention this and perhaps help beginners to understand what the acronym stands for but, that seemed not to have been the idea.
You must have taken the time to qhave fun creating this thread at OP but, I don't find anything fun in some verbatim transcopying of an a briefed information of which, you said isn't going to help anyone as you state right here.

Thanks, I agree, this is of no use. I never said that this will benefit any single user on this forum.
It's just an information for someone who might find it fun to read.
And no, I am not going to update it.
Meta is most of all, a wrong place for this sort of fun read stats that, you ain't going to update, the states takes minutes to change and most of all, users on meta are very much acquinted with forum functionalitiesand where to source for information on the bitcointalkstatistics center. Perhaps you wanted to educate on third party sites usability as suggested by KingsDen, it would have been a little more appropriate and even, would suit better in the B&H board more.

That been said, the following stats has been a puzzle.

2. Deleted profiles = 16117
What could really be the reason behind this aside from what DdmrDdmr have said (or should I say, I wasn't really cleared on his possible explanations). Like, I still see accounts that are revamped after 4-8years of inactivity.

I find this part of the statistics very interesting. Over 314 registrations daily on average. I would never have guessed that number to be so high. @DdmrDdmr You seem like the perfect person to ask this. What do these stats look like for the last year or two? I doubt it's more than 60-70 people daily.

And I, for my part, did not know that there could be people on the forum who do not know about this unique site. I absolutely do not see the usefulness of this topic, especially its regular maintenance. For what? There are statistics, and anyone who is interested can do it on their own. Why rewrite the same thing, it is the same as pouring from an empty bucket into an empty one.
I strongly agree with you on this. When I saw the topic, I thought maybe Op will discuss the Bpip and other third party stat sites like Ninjalistic and maybe compare them and make suggestions on how to improve their services. But I was surprised that he transferred what is in the site to the forum verbatim.
It will only take 12hrs and some of this statistics would no long longer be true and I wonder what will happen then.
Maybe find a way to synchronize your post to bpip site so that both can be updating simultaneously.  Grin

Only thing I can say about this topic is you need to update it every month or week to maintain the flow and keep the thread updated from new features. This useful to newbies who won't know the bpip yet but for the older member here this topics sounds useless cause they are know already the bpip and more sites to open like merit dashboard, loyce.club and many more useful thread here in our community. Anyways you put an effort for these good job OP.

Good work, but I think that creating such topics will be useless because they need constant updating, something that is done automatically by scripts, not forum topics that are static and need manual updating.
Over time, you will need to update the topic daily or every few days, otherwise it will be useless.

Also, such statistics are of little use and only benefit in the personal glories of those accounts, meaning what will the community benefit from knowing the top 3 Merit members?
I might agree with your opinion because in reality a topic like this won't be of much use even if it's updated every period by the OP. I think it's ok to post stats like this when we are responding to specific questions about custom stats and in this case BPIP and some other tools like Loyce.club, Ninjastic.space as well as Merit Dashboard are also very helpful, but for the OP's idea I'm not sure there are many uses.

Thanks, I agree, this is of no use. I never said that this will benefit any single user on this forum.
It's just an information for someone who might find it fun to read.
And no, I am not going to update it.
I think it's useful at times, but I don't expect you to have to update it on a regular basis because it will only put you double work on something that is easily accessible to users who want it.

<…> I saw that 16,117 profile has been deleted. Does anyone know in which conditions profiles have been deleted from the forum? They were inactive for a long time or any other violation? <…>

There’s this to go by:
<....>
Deleted 16000
<....>

You appear to have also misread my point.

The data on UID's is different than the data on this forum's stats page: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=stats

Why is that number lower than 2000000?

In the forum's first couple of years, accounts would sometimes be deleted. Also, in rare cases an ID can be skipped (eg. if a database transaction gets rolled back).

The former quote points to around 16.000 missing account Ids back in August 2018. The current toll would be 16.005 (3468951 Id of most recent member – total members on Bitcointalk’s stats info at the bottom of the index page). That kind of points to the skips in Ids being very exceptional nowadays.

The most common cause might be (my speculation based on the second quote above) a rollback on an insertion record, due to resources already being locked at the time for some reason or other (i.e. reindex taking place, bot post inserts too close in time, who knows ...).

Though this information is already available on that website still thanks for your efforts anyway. This May is not of any use to the experienced members but newbies will know there is a place from where they can extract similar information easily.

I saw that 16,117 profile has been deleted. Does anyone know in which conditions profiles have been deleted from the forum? They were inactive for a long time or any other violation? I think meta is the right place to ask this matter but just asked by seeing the info in OP.
