Sorry about the late responses guys, I never bought the devices from ledger themselves but I got them off a close friend of mine. He lost a lot of cryptocurrency and no longer wanted to deal with it so he sold everything he had for it. I bought both to be nice, and the nano s plus was never used. It does have an open box but was never setup.

You are already the third node in the sales chain, while the previous owner is someone who lost a lot of cryptocurrencies. In all of this, Ledger (unpacked in your case, even worse) is a wallet that has completely broken trust in its products because it indirectly admitted that they could have access to the seed phrase.
